@@talkaboutrandon7870 like he mentioned in the video it really does seem to be fueled by rage... while it triggers both times her friends are in danger... it only went to full power when she thought sprig was dead or about to die... and then she was engulfed in pure rage and aggression and destroyed everything in her path...
the powers come from something called the "calamity" box for a reason... the powers aren't intended to be good.
Or maybe the powers are to be used during a calamaty but the "bad" could be to to marcy's state🤔
On the contrary I’d argue that Andrias asking for the book shows the opposite of care for Marcy. He’s just as cheerful and excited about it as he was when show was alive, showing a rather terrifying sociopathic personality. He never cared about her. Sure he was interested in what she had to say and all, but in the end she was just another pawn. He literally could not care less which is heartbreaking since Marcy mistook another curious soul with another kind one. She was so excited to finally find someone who listened she never thought he would have been just enjoying her stories, not caring that she was a part of them if that makes sense
That’s what makes me so worried for Marcy.
It gives me a serious message about my constant oversharing.
I’d say asking for the book shows that while he regarded Marcy as a pawn, he actually did develop a bond with her, but in the end he was willing to destroy that bond to get what he wanted

Even though Anne doesn't like her power cause it feels bad to her, but I don't think that her power is evil cause she will use it to save her family (including the planters are part of the family). Including stopping andrias and the night
The power could still be bad, my guess is it drains any living being using them directly but at the end of the day it depends on how you use said power.

We still don't know exactly what the gem powers really are. The theory of the gem powers being "evil" came out really because of this episode, so we'll have to see more.

The fact that Amphibia and The owl house are causing some good Action is what surprises me, especially because it’s a Disney channel show
It’s clear to me that this first episode is part of a mini-arc involving the human trio’s parents. Right now Anne is basically in the honeymoon period of being back, suffering very few consequences for the trio’s actions before arriving in Amphibia because her parents are just so happy to have her home. I’d imagine that soon after word gets out that Anne has returned either the parents of Marcy and Sasha will confront her or the police will possibly even both. Once they’re involved Anne is going to suffer the consequences of playing hooky and shoplifting the box. I hope this story bases these things on actual logic where the police would have been called retraced the trios steps ending at the antique shop. From then on the blame for their disappearance would actually likely be placed on Marcy. Speculation would lead to the conclusion that she somehow convinced her friends to run away with her after hearing about moving day. I’d imagine that the trio’s parents(again if we base this on proper logic) would actually be pretty hostile with each other. Each blaming the other for their daughter’s disappearance. Granted this depends on how much each set of parents cares for their child.
Personally, I think Anne's parents handled things surprisingly well considering they seemed to be the protective sort even before she disappeared. For all they knew their daughter was dead (after five months the chances of a missing person being found alive are very thin) and suddenly she returns after being sucked into another dimension. I was half expecting them to not let Anne out their sight at all for most of the episode and while they did get a little too protective I think they still handled things rather well.
Probably because she had proof of where she was.

Honestly the Thai representation is exactly WHY I started watching Amphibia, it caught my interest at first just because of the designs and concept but when I saw Anne speaking about being Thai it sealed the deal! I'm Lao/Thai American and I've never seen my family's culture shown in any cartoon before!! Her making laap, wearing a beautiful sinh, the way she decorates AND wears phuang malai,,, This show made me (and other Thai teens I'm certain) feel seen. I love Amphibia so much :)
Hey, Awestruck? Remember that page of the book Hop Pop found way back when? The one about the Calamity Box? The one with the frog skull on it? What if that was for real? What if the more someone uses those Calamity powers, the more life they lose?...

I feel like Andrias and Anne are kind of like foils for each of, cause they both really value their relationships with others, but while Andrias seems to hold grudges Anne seems more be like “forgive and forget”, I mean not really forget but like “you did something that hurt me and I don’t think I can forget that, but I’m willing to forgive you if you can learn to change”
With the knowledge of the “Anne loses her arm” theory, that gag with Anne not being able to move her arms was genuinely terrifying and I’m not sure if it’s foreshadowing something or what

I think the fact that only half of the robot was destroyed reflects her being at half power. Just look at how she was in true colours, she was COVERED in blue flamey-magic and she has tonnes of energy. But in the latest one it seems quite toned down
YELLOW TO PURPLE THEORY
She liked the color yellow a lot as a kid, so in a way, her losing her other shoe was like her losing her childhood immaturity, as the episode focuses a lot on how much more mature she is compared to before she disappeared. Real dummed down but something like that. And maybe purple will signify her growing more mature or something idk, just the shoe thing got me theorizing.

my theory is that the pink frog with andrias was a relative or mom of sprig then she discovered that andrias's plans are evil so she tried to stop him but andrias killed her and says "look what you've made me do"

I feel like season 3 might end how Sonic X Season 2 ended. Anne would find a way to bring them to their planet, and the Plantars would go through the portal, but Anne turns it off before Sprig gets the chance to go through, and runs away to somewhere far away not wanting to loose her Freindship with Sprig, like what Chris did with Sonic in Sonic X. There could be two parts, with one part showing how life is for Hop Pop and Polly are without Sprig around, and another part with Anne being in the remote area she's living in with Sprig, resulting in Sprig convincing Anne to reopen the portal. I believe it could end like this due to the fact that this season seems inspired by Sonic X to certain points, with a mix of Season 1-2 and season 3 of Sonic X, which was the Metarex Saga. They go to earth by being transported to Earth, resulting in them going onto a road, EXACTLY where Sonic landed in Season 1 Episode 1 of Sonic X. They are also trying to hide the Plantars from people, like how Chris tried to hide Sonic, Tails, Amy, Cream, and Cheese from his family's Butler and Maid. There's 3 humans that know about their existence at the begining of the season just like how Chris, the Butler, and the Maid were the only people to know about Sonic, other than Chris' grandfather. The plot so far is also similar to the Metarex saga: Person/alien from a different planet is trying to take over a different dimension while the main characters fight robots. The only difference is that Andreas is from a different dimension and doesn't want to destory it, while the Metarex are aliens from a different planet trying to destory planets.

If you didn't notice already, when Sasha opened the calamity box normally, it didn't work, but when Andrias did it, he put in a little key. Just saying, now we know how the box works.

What if, and I'm just spit balling here, that "Dr.P" is one of the Pines from gravity falls, namely Great Uncle Ford or Dipper? That could explain why Bill, the Illuminati Triangle Deity, is in the book.
Well, I tried to tie everything that we have as of now to make a coherent story and so, here are my conclusions :
The calamity box's fuel is actually the Night. We know that the Night is only a giant head in present time but it wasn't always the case. Andrias's ancestors managed to make a deal with the Night or harness its power to create the calamity box. The powers Anne is using were those of the Night, who want to take them back. After the calamity box has been stolen by a Plantars' s ancestor, Andrias save what was left of the Night in order to regain his glory. The Night then used Andrias ambition to fulfill his dark plans (which might not be the conquest of earth, that is Andrias's plan). The temples in Amphibia work both way. They can recharge the stone but can also give it's power to someone (The power of the stones was taken back from the girl, they didn't charge them from nothing). The three girls had the require conditons when they use the box to become the new vessels of the box's powers, which Andrias defuse by reputting the power in the stones. This is also the reason why only some people, able to win the temple can have those powers, as they can corrupt their hosts.
The guy who stole the arm is probably Mr.X who will appear in Episode 6A, 6B being for Sprig's birthday.
I really excited to see how things unfold this season!

actually. you have a point. i have a theory. maybe the reason why the power makes anne so emotional, is because maybe the emotions are from andrias when he was first betrayed. i think he had control of that power before the music box was stolen
I'm not trying to jinx it, but if Sasha almost died in the season 1 finale, and Marcy temporary died in the season 2 finale; if Anne used up a ton of her power and took out too much of her energy when fighting The Night in the series finale, won't that?............ you know?
I know she's the main character, but you'll never know what unexpected moment we'll see

Anne’s power this episode was such an anime inspired hit. The eye trails, with the slow motion wind up of the punch, and even it being ti a single blow was just so similar to anime
OK so here's something I think we need to talk about
In one of his videos he was talking about how Marcy and Sasha's powers are going to be right?
And we also talked about the costumes from Battle of the Bands
So what if we go back to that episode to the scene where it shows how the girl's costumes are going to be. There it shows Ann's costume as a dragonfly,Marcy's as a butterfly type thing and Sasha's as a type of moth
So can we talk about that and check if that has to do with how Sasha's powers are going to turn out (considering how she might get her powers back)
Anne needs therapy as well as support from The Planters and her parents. Her powers from the calamity box are going to be insane.
The feel bad aspect could also be tied to the fact that Anne had most of the power drained from her, plus she isn't in Amphibia anymore, as we saw with the first transformation it looked like she drew some additional power back from the gem. Being on earth and unable to do so, it could be the spark of power she still has could very well be tapping her vitality or lifeforce in order to be used as a result. The fact that she isn't a frog could also be a factor as laid out as well.
Personally I find it refreshing to have a hero with powers who doesn't fully rely on them to solve all of their problems.
I think like how the issue of the hidden calamity box covered multiple episodes, which I always liked because I felt it gave a better impression that it was a heavy emotional blow to the relationship of the two characters in that it wasn't resolved quickly but lingered. That the issues with Anne's parents and the fallout of her being missing for 5 months will slowly be rolled out. I mean we haven't really seen a large emotional outburst from the parents, nor had the parents of Sasha or Marcy come into play yet. The very fact that Anne's parents seem to want to lock her down could also later on be because they know that once Anne's return gets around that it will have repercussions. Like the other two families showing up to demand answers and ask what Anne knows, and lets face it there is nothing she can say that is likely they will believe unless she risks revealing the Planters, and the other two families who are still missing their daughters may not be as understanding.
I figure Anne's parents having a talk with her would have the most impact after she sees how her friends families reacted to their disappearance.

What I'm worry is that I believe if it doesn't end up like Svtfoe series with its ending of season 4 cause Amphibia is a good series with its 3 season.
There’s been a theory going around that Anne will lose her arm, either towards the end of season 3 or sooner. Initially, I didn’t think the possibility is likely. But after this episode introduced a way for Anne to lose her arm, and in a way that can be made “acceptable” for Disney censors, I think there’s a good chance of it happening now which is terrifying.
I'd love to see an episode where Anne talks to Sasha and Marcy's (assuming they didn't go through with the move a few months after Marcy disappeared) parents and tells them that they're okay.

My theory (and by "my" I mean what I read from a few comments) is that feels bad to not only it's drainin a lot of energy, but also makes her emotion unstable. She only felt negative emotions due to panic attack. And also it may drain her life. The more she uses it, the more she gets exhausted and the weaker she gets. Potentially it might took her days to wake up, or even never wake up again
One thing I dont see people talking about is these two lines "youre the poster child for hating RESPONSIBILITY"- Anne's dad and "for what is HEART without RESPONSIBILITY!"- a line from Anne's temple. She hated responsibilty but learned what it ment like Marcy did in her temple. She never encountered a problem she couldnt solve so she had to learn humilty that she wasnt smart enough. By that logic Sasha had to LEARN a lesson at her temple right? She didnt, or at least learned the wrong one. She already HAD perserverence, but it was when Anne trusted her that she got it back and beat the temple. Perserverence wasnt the lesson, trust in friends was. It was her perserverence that caused percy and the other one i forgot her name to leave.
we'll have plenty of emotional moment when she has to explain things to Marcy´s and Sasha's parents

I think you're right about Anne's powers. Rage, anger, sadness, and spite are the powerhouses of the emotional spectrum. And with everything Anne's been going through, chances are that anxiety will be thrown into the mix. So maybe in a later episode the amount of anxiety, and fear that's been building up in Anne will cause her to lose control of her powers. Causing her to have a panic attack, maybe even ending up hurting someone close to her in the process, there by adding guilt to the mixture of emotions Anne's feeling.
I hope Anne manages how to control and discover the secret of her powers and also uses to good.

Just catching up on the season now. I really liked the interactions with Anne's parents. The Planter's disguises are clever. I was not expecting the assassin bot to show up so soon. While I'm sure that Anne will eventually learn to fully control her powers, possibly at the series finally and/or when reconnected with the gem, right now the writers need a way to nerf them because if Anne can just Super Saiyan her way through every fight it would remove all dramatic tension. Plus like you said all the times Anne has activated the powers, including all the quick eye flashes, have been in moments of extreme emotional distress. I wouldn't be surprised if she goes through some sort of meditation training montage to learn to control the powers without being full of rage. It could also be that the powers are unstable because she does not have all the gem's energy. Anne's Power originally being intended for frogs is interesting as when she was fighting with Andrius Anne would crouch down like a frog.
But at the start and end of the montage someone needs to break the fourth wall
Andrias thinks Sasha and Grime are dead after jumping out the window from being outnumbered by the robots. Andrias will not be ready for what Sasha and Grime bring to him next.
After seeing Anne’s powder blooming, it almost reminded of one for all powers except instead of Anne’s powers damage her limbs after each attack, it’s possible that Anne’s powers could be damaging her life force. It’s also possible that Anne’s powers are a spiritual based power that needs to be trained on both her body and her mind. If you guys got other opinions about Anne’s powers, im open for suggestions.

My theory is that Anne's issues with her powers may stem from the fact that their source, the gem, is currently in another universe. It's like using too many extension cords, the strain of the long-distance connection is burning her out. She may have to return to Amphibia to save her own life!

Maybe her gem powers is a direct connection to a stream of energy between her and the calamity box. Maybe this stream goes both ways where she can take from it but since she cant control it, it eventually takes from her instead draining her.
I'm just gonna mention here that simply entering a panic state is enough to tax the body.
I've exploded into action before, and literally keeled over from standing, the MOMENT I started to come down from that high.
..and honestly, that state alone is a 3-5x boost to your average strength, and little else. Just a thing we can do. Humans in a panic state can do to a chimpanzee, what any chimpanzee can do to one of us.
Personally, I'm vindictive and vengeful, and was surrounded by deserving enemies. To me, the sensation was addictive. I loved it, and what it could drive me to do.
Anne isn't like that. The fatigue isn't worth the fallout to her.
One thing I wanted to know is whether her parents got the police involved when she went missing?. I would of thought that there would be missing posters of her and Sasha and Marcy.
