    This recipe was so easy I let my toddlers make it. We toasted the oats and sliced almonds prior to mixing and added Sliced almonds, oats, toffee, and chocolate chips. We did not add the salt to the caramel mix, but sprinkled the sea salt on top of the granola bars.

    The comments sections of Gemma's videos are such a fun place. All sorts of people from all over the world, who make all different kinds of food. It's never a boring place here. Thanks for always bringing together such a wonderful crowd with your creative skill, Gemma! Another great video for back to school.

      It really is like a United Nations! that is so great, it shows that we are all the same really, just with different ingredients, which could be a metaphor! Thank you :)

    There are 125 calories in a bar (the nuts ones) if you divide them into 16 squares. You're welcome.
    And they are yummy.

      There's not. Look at all that honey. That has to be at least 300 per bar.

    Gemma thanks for sharing this recipe. I made one today but I added cinnamon with vanilla, no salt plus pecan nuts and chocolate chips. My niece just love cinnamon and chocolate so I made this for her snacks for school. And yes, even if not refrigerated I just can't seem to stop tasting it. Thank you and for sure I will try on other recipes you have.

    hi Gemma! ive been a subscriber for ages i think. the coconut granola is the best! i work and sometimes i dont have the time to eat so this is a great way to replenish energy when in need. i made coconut and the peanut butter. i cant stop munching the coconut granola. i added cranberries instead of raisins. its heaven. im in a tropical country and coconuts are everywhere. im blessed to come across this. i was never a fan of coconut desserts before but this, your facial expression of liking it gave a coconut a chance for me to enjoy it! Thank you, Gemma! God bless! ill keep on watching and liking your videos! hoping for more sumptuous food from your channel!

    Hello Gemma. I am so glad that I've found your channel. Your no bake granola bars have became a big hit for my family. I've made fruit, coconut, flax/chai bars. My family just can't get enough. I'm kinda ashamed to say this, but I am bad at cooking. However being on your and other cooks channel, my family likes the food that I'm cooking for them and cuz of that, my confidence is growing in the kitchen. So thank you, Gemma, for these wonderful recipes. I'm crying tears of joy right now. I look forward to your next video.

    Love this recipe. I've made granola bars in the past, but I will try this recipe. It's also a great way to clean out the kitchen cabinets when you have a pile of odds and ends from other baking projects: A quarter bag of walnuts or pecans, a half bag of chocolate chips, a handful of dried blueberries or cranberries... Your cabinets will be clean in no time. ;-)

    wish there was No butter and sugar in them because than they would be healtier for kids . do you have substites for that?

    • @amreikonrad364
      @amreikonrad364 7 років тому +13

      Instead of the butter you can use coconut oil or natural nut butter
      Instead of the sugar you can use stevia or just skip it and use a bit more of the honey/agave

    • @Sechari
      @Sechari 7 років тому +14

      you really can't sub sugar for stevia in this as you need a caramel that'll dry down enough to keep the bars together. And honey or agave aren't really substantially more healthy than sugar anyway..

    • @creativecheersoffashionlau7364
      @creativecheersoffashionlau7364 7 років тому +5

      also coconut oil will be a problem because it has to harden when it cools and coconut does that not enough. And I agree with you about the sugar subsitute . They all give a diffrent end product.

      Coconut oil, and stevia or maple syrup, you will need to experiment with these things to get them to suit your taste!.

    Gemma with College starting and Ramen Noodles being a staple and popular right now with the whole Kylie Jenner thing maybe you could do a video on different flavours and uses for Ramen Noodles or some college cuisine videos lol

    Can i use goldem syrup instead of honey

    • @Sechari
      @Sechari 7 років тому +1

      shouldn't be a problem, it would actually be better since you're not supposed to heat up honey too much.

    • @GemmaStafford
      @GemmaStafford  7 років тому +2

      There is a thing going on out there about heating honey, but I cannot find the science behind it :)

      www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3215355/ "The study revealed that heated honey (>140°C) mixed with ghee produces HMF which may produce deleterious effects and act as a poison in due course" .
