Who is Dr. Unwin?
Dr. David Unwin, MD, is an award-winning general practitioner (or family doctor) known for pioneering the low-carb approach in the UK. Through the years, Dr. Unwin has been highly recognized for his work within his field.
Dr. David Unwin works at the Norwood NHS Surgery in Southport near Liverpool, UK where he has helped care for a practice of 9700 people since 1986 as a family doctor. To date 127 of his patients with T2 diabetes have achieved drug-free remission. This gives a remission rate of 50% at 30 months duration of those choosing a lower carb diet. This equates to a remission rate of over 20% of the diabetic population of the entire practice. One of the best results for any clinic in the world.
In 2018, Dr. Unwin was named the ninth most influential general practitioner in the UK by GP magazine Pulse. Moreover, he is a clinical expert in Diabetes at Fellowship of the UK Royal College of General Practitioners where he was elected as a Fellow back in 2008. He has also written several peer-reviewed papers to strengthen the science behind low-carb diets.

First positive debunk of the protein = kidney damage argument I’ve come across in many Keto video! Thanks for that. Also the cost of the diet was obliquely referred to: another thing that gets brushed over. Thanks Dr Unwin.
Excellent. I just loved this interview. I'll certainly be looking at the recommended sites and buying Jen Unwin's book. And I only wish my own GP practice could be on board with this!
So great to see you again Dr Unwin!
