@dafuqawew And Catwoman's ears could perform a similar function. The fact remains that there was no reason whatsoever to alter Catwoman's outfit from what it looks like in the comics, or to not refer to her as Catwoman at all in the movie.
@dafuqawew No, you don't understand my opinion. "Doing things straight from the comic book in a realistic world would look campy af" is a statement that comes from a total lack of understanding of the comics. DC Comics have been doing things from a "realistic" standpoint ever since the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline in the late 1980s. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight both drew heavily on Frank Miller's Batman: Year One and Jeph Loeb's The Long Halloween, which also took things in a more realistic direction. Christopher Nolan overdid things by assuming that he needed to add realism to a medium that already did most of the work for him decades earlier. If you want to talk about realism, then please tell me what technology currently exists to make Bruce's cape act like a glider? Tell me how Harvey Dent's left eye doesn't dry up from lack of moisture considering that he can't close it at all in The Dark Knight? How about the fact that Bruce Wayne is shown needing a leg brace at the start of The Dark Knight Rises due to damaged cartilage, yet the leg brace mysteriously disappears during Bruce's imprisonment and escape from the pit that Bane leaves him in? Let's not even discuss the ridiculous way Bruce heals from Bane breaking his back. There was no reason why Catwoman's outfit couldn't have been closer to the comics considering that Bruce's outfit closely matches the comics as well. There was also no reason why Selina couldn't be called "Catwoman," other than Christopher Nolan's petulance.

I agree! But just needed to say a few things. Anne’s portrayal of Catwoman is the cool, calm, and (almost) self-centered thief, much like in the comics. However, Michelle’s portayal of Catwoman is that chaotic, morally confusing anti-hero with a “what-suits-my-interests” personality, also much like in the comics. Both did a wonderful job. Personally, I can’t pick which Catwoman was good because all of them seemed so good and sort of comic accurate. They both are good and wonderful at the role!
Anne was a GREAT Selina. I've been collecting Catwoman for 40 years. Zoe was fantastic, too. They both played the old, and the new. I wish Nolan placed at least ONE cat in the movie. But his vision was to have her be the cat burglar before she became the Catwoman we know and love today.
Anne was awesome in it. The only complain I had , she doesn’t have enough screen time , the fight scenes are ...okay. She captures Selina’s personalities, just the choreography...I don’t expect the producers gonna give her a whip because of “Nolan’s realistic take”, but Selina is well trained in gymnast and combat , but oh well hopefully the new one will give her justice
I find it interesting that Hathaway is so disliked by many that the incontrovertible fact she's one of the great actresses from her generation is summarily ignored.

Halle Berry wasn't Selina Kyle. That Catwoman was unrelated to the "Batman" franchise. I'm not saying that I don't believe that the franchise didn't inspire it. I'm just saying that it wasn't connected to it in any way. Her character's name was Patience.
People do not give Anne enough credit at all. She was Selina BEFORE Catwoman really emerged. The look, the sarcasm, the deception, the vulnerability--Anne was superb.
You kidding me? She totally had me seduced bro. Much more than Zoe Kravitz, at least. Yeah Zoe Kravitz had the better walk. She nailed that. She did move better. But Anne's Catwoman voice is so sexy. And so were her dialogues, and the way her character was written. Like a comment on this video has said, the only problem was that she didn't have enough screen time. Nolan's movies tend to be like that, chaotic, not stopping to develop and dive into characters.
I just realized something. Anne Hathaway did the voice of Jewel in the Rio movies and Ben Mendelsohn did the voice of Killian in Spies in Disguise. The more I think about it, the idea of Jewel fighting Killian in her sexy catsuit (or in this case, sexy bird suit) sounds kind of interesting to me.

@@KazukiVA why not?
RKB 5457 cuz She fits catwoman

What about Christian Bale?
I mean Marvel has their eye on Liam Neeson to play Galactus
Why can't Bale join in on the action?
Only missing thing is the prison wrist break
Character wise i almost felt sorry for her due to the fact that she was the only woman locked up with a bunch of male inmates
@@skynetprime82 with the way she broke that dude's wrists, I'd say they're the unfortunate ones.
Using the dead guys hand on the gun is such a Selina Kyle move brava
Can she come back please? She was the BEST casting choice.
0:13 My favorite scene ever and FUCKING forever
I think Hathaway did very well. Loved her portrayal, but Michelle Pfeiffer, is Catwoman. The evil, torn, set yourself on fire to see that painted on suit!?!? Much love Hathaway, but Michelle is Catwomam.
MEOW.
@@dandles2010 Yeah, it wouldn't have been silly if she licked his face.
What about Halle Berry version...
Ingai Spence we don’t talk about that....
I laughed at 2:00 Randomly sitting silently in the dark. 🤣🤣🤣
Anne was a GREAT Selina. I've been collecting Catwoman for 40 years. Zoe was fantastic, too. They both played the old, and the new. I wish Nolan placed at least ONE cat in the movie. But his vision was to have her be the cat burglar before she became the Catwoman we know and love today.
anna is the Best cat women ever 😍😍❤❤❤❤
Batman: "no guns, no killing"
Me: oh really
"where is the fun on it"
Joker: "And you didn't disappoint. You let five people die......"
The fun of no killing is that you get beat the shit out of people
2:57 best scene of whole movie.
Fax😂
Anne was awesome in it. The only complain I had , she doesn’t have enough screen time , the fight scenes are ...okay. She captures Selina’s personalities, just the choreography...I don’t expect the producers gonna give her a whip because of “Nolan’s realistic take”, but Selina is well trained in gymnast and combat , but oh well hopefully the new one will give her justice
She riding the batmobile is the sexiest thing ever
I find it interesting that Hathaway is so disliked by many that the incontrovertible fact she's one of the great actresses from her generation is summarily ignored.
How dare you didn't include the iconic "ooops" moment
catwoman and my heartwoman Anne Hathaway...whatever role she did always on top whether science or love or drama she is on top...her energy, her beauty with her so much sweet voice gives us a great love drive always...loads of love for Anne Heartaway as she is just a heart stolen lady by taking our hearts away...and great actress...
Tbh her parts are the most badass and I cam say the best scenes in the whole movie . Esp in her first meeting with bruce , when she unlocked the vault and mr.wayne noticed her wearing the necklace . So iconic
How many times do I have to say it? She deserves a solo movie. Anne was made for this role and her embodiment is spot on. if Hollywood is really interested in a great catwomen film. implement it! You're welcome!
2:33 OMG!! Is that the catwoman's Stray???
Still my favourite actress portraying catwoman.
I loved her costume, it was the perfect tribute to Julie Newmar.
A classy sophisticated woman just how the character should be portrayed as especially how her suit looked in the Dark Knight Rises. Hathaway is the best actress to portray the Catwoman character.
@@AnthonyOldhandGarcia what I loved about the way they portrayed it was how tough she was. Couldn’t stand how people were just blindly praising the wonder woman movie, completely forgetting that this even happened. I’m sorry for anyone who enjoyed Wonder Woman, but when it comes to women in superhero movies I’ve seen better.
I love it when Catwoman is a hero instead of a villain and teams up with Batman
Well in the comics there are few times she times up with batman. The most times i guess would be her time in the birds of prey
She is a Anti hero

02:55 She puts the goggles down, fires, and then the goggles are back up again. 😅
Loved every second of her screen time
3:16 leg spread Anne Hathaway's catwoman for the win
To each her own. This portrayal is also great just like the others.
Like I already had a crush on Anne Hathaway before this came out, but this amplified it by over 9000!
Vegeta: OMG SHE'S SO GODAMN COOL!!!
I still hold Michelle Pfeiffer as my favorite catwoman, HOWEVER Anne Hathaway did a good job in her role. If only she had more time on screen
And Zoe?
The way she gets off the bat pod 😍
The Best Catwoman👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love that her cat ear is actually a scope. Brilliant...
2:59 I know that every man is looking right into the explosion :)
What explosion?
Bruh
After watching 3-4 times I saw that exploding
Yeah hahaha
Zevac your kidding me right
2:57 what you came here for
The only miss here is the missing iconic WHIP!!
And a cat which Nolan didn't want. Bugs me to this day
she was so perfect as catwoman
Everyone complained when this casting choice was made, but then everyone shut up when it finally came out. Anne did a great job imo, I loved her Catwoman.
edit: I hope people are joking and I just haven’t got in on it yet when they say Halle Berry was better. Halle Berry’s Catwoman movie is one of the worst films
I’ve ever seen, so bad it enters unintentional comedy territory. So yeah, I hope it’s just a meme or something.
edit edit: ALSO wanted to mentioned that Halle Berrys Catwoman isn’t even apart of the DCU, it’s just about a woman who... becomes a cat
Halle Berry wasn't Selina Kyle. That Catwoman was unrelated to the "Batman" franchise. I'm not saying that I don't believe that the franchise didn't inspire it. I'm just saying that it wasn't connected to it in any way. Her character's name was Patience.
@@CROSSTATT Yeah, that’s why i mentioned she isn’t even in the DCU but it’s clearly heavily heavily inspired by “Catwoman” aka Selina Kyle
The casting in the nolan films were the best
1:33 that guy on the left never fails to make me laugh
1:33 stunt double was like ayo do I come or nah?
Best catwoman, there you go I said it
People do not give Anne enough credit at all. She was Selina BEFORE Catwoman really emerged. The look, the sarcasm, the deception, the vulnerability--Anne was superb.
There are 206 bones in human body. 207 when I'm watching Dark Knight Rises
1:40 *"Batman and Catwoman : No guns, no killing"* reminds me of that Daredevil and Elektra scene against the ninjas
Anne doesn't play a very good 'bad girl' or seductress. The way she moved just didn't materialize it. Her action scenes were still good tho.
I can watch TDKR 5 times because it's a great batman movie and I can watch it 10 times just to see Anne Hathaway in Catwoman suit
ANNE HATHAWAY KILLED IT AS CATWOMAN. PERIOD.
The Dark Knight isn't the only thing RISES when seeing catwoman
Anne Hathaway is best Catwoman
She's perfect for this character...
This amount of stimulation should not be allowed
2:57 AHHHHHHHHH ITS TO MUCH
Anne is super dashing
The BEST Catwoman of all times

She is one of my favorite Catwoman ever 😊❤ she did a great job
