I can’t say enough..Chloe Moretz blew me away with her performance as Mindy McCready and Hit Girl. I couldn’t believe how well she acted in a way where she was pure entertainment. I love this movie.

They could, but the wokeness dont allowed it. Way to much stereotypes, way to brutal against some groups. If they would relive the franchise it would be some shit like the Saints Row Reboot.
Big Daddy screaming directions at was daughter was heartbreaking. He was in excruciating pain and still kept it together enough to worry about/guide her. One of the best death scenes ever.
Exactly. The choice of words, a tilt of head, face expression, voice intonations, loving eyes, all these parts are perfect. And then you realize he cripples his daughter in the name of his love.
They missed the best one. Where she showed up as the 'lost schoolgirl' and shot the guy through the door mans cheek. That movie was so awesome and Miss Moretz was 80% of the reason it was. She played one hell of a psychopath at 11 years old! She should have won an Oscar even though she did it in a campy, low budget action movie.
There aren't many child actors in brutal action roles either... I could also think of Dafne Keen (12 at the time), who was also great as X-23/Laura in Logan and Alisha Weir (14) in "Abygail" ...... but that's it.
@@inkognito1534 part of the reason you don't see it very often is because it's pretty tough finding a stunt double for someone under five feet tall. LOL!
@@ScottLafray-dd2fp There are some child stunt doubles, as they are also needed for films that do not explicitly have children in the main action roles. I think the problem is more that the studios rarely dare to show children in such scenes, especially when they themselves are the brutal killers.
@1542haha yeah, why didn't Hit girl and her dad ? Didn't get their own movie, Hollywood, slept on kick ass they could've done a lot with these characters 😒.
Also, don't know how I never really noticed this before, but got I love how across kick-Ass, Hit-Girl, and Big-Daddy, you can see how much each of them cared about aesthetics vs functionality. KA is purely just for recognizability and hiding his identity, it's super bright with all the yellow and there's literally no armor or extra features besides the sheaths for his batons. HG has a lot of purple, her skirt, and a cape, but she at least has some armor and presumably a bp vest under her costume, plus her utility belt with some useful stuff like her knives and the little grapple thing she uses near the end. Aside from the shape of his helmet, cape and the yellow of his belt, BD's suit is basically all *just* armor, dark colors for stealth, and from what we see his belt has a lot more lethal shit than HG's; grenades, flares, etc.
I find it super weird, if that is true, that they DID let her actually use the type of language hit girl did. That she said it "at work" doesn't mean she didn't say those things. And her parents knew better than she did, at that time, that people would get laughs and enjoyment out of a very young child -- their daughter -- saying what they disapproved of. This is not even to mention the fake violence their child mimicked.
Just means they treat her like an adult. Explained that as it was for work, it was acceptable. Maybe she was wise enough to understand concepts like satire, maybe she wasn't. But she was plenty wise enough to understand that saying it in a script was a "pass", but saying it to her own parents in the course of a normal day was not. As to bad personalities; though we all apparently love this film and the idea of an ultra violent 11 year old girl, that is to assess it at only a very superficial surface level. Mindy is a very damaged little girl, and "superhero" or otherwise, that damage is done to her mostly by her dad. And if the "I think I'm in love" and "Dude, she's like twelve." lines do NOT make you uncomfortable...get some help.
When she saves Kickass and they start playing The Banana Splits Song..... Blew me away. The last thing I expected in a modern movie was the theme song from a TV series I watched in the late 60"s. I was 6. This is the Dickies Version. Very good. Just so unexpected. Very good scene, one of my Favs.
