Love the Demarcus Paul how to videos, he's very good at explaining the learning process. Makes me want to throw some pegs on and try riding street for once
Man, this is one of the best positive reinforment vids iv ever seen, the emphasis he puts into making a point of taking the little wins is awsome, Thanks!!!!
I just learned ice pics like 2 weeks ago and I already sent one down a 6 stair rail landed it smooth the trick for me was to land in a higher up Manny position because my balance point with manuals isn't very good and especially not on a rail or ledge but anyways I bunny hop and push that back end down and pull the bars to my chest pretty high this helps because if you can't hold up your Manny u can just use gravity and let it fall down onto the front tire gotta lift tho because if not u will easily go over the bars
Demarcus always with the wholesome tutorials, he knows no trick its easy , its always a learning proces .... greetings from mexico Awezome content btw!!!
My favorite tip that Demo missed in this video is side hopping onto a ledge. Before trying the grind hopping onto the ledge and being confident that you have the height to get your pegs of there is huge. i have found this tip works especially well for learning smith grinds.
These are great! I would love to see a video on how to bail. I think that is a very important aspect of BMX and it's not talked about much. How do I bail from a bad rail attempt? How do I bail from a bad drop or jump? How would I bail in a backflip or if I realize I under or over-rotated a 360? These tips would help confidence because knowing that failure is just a part of learning this stuff and knowing you can get out of failed attempts helps.
Great tutorial. I’ve just starting riding at 44 with my 6 year old son. I’ve started to double peg grind and the way you’ve broken it down makes perfect sense and great tips. Thanks 👍🏼
Great illustration of how much thinking you must do to ride bmx. A lot of it just looks like chucking yourself wildly but it is sooo not that. Thanks for the breakdown of how to think about riding.
Paradigm shifting for me - been stuck in the double peg as first grind for way too long. Found a nice curb, actually feel like I’ve progressed with the feeble now... Thank you!!
Yes mate. I started doing the front tyre ride with the back wheel rubbing the curb and worked up to a feeble, got my first feebles today. Double pegs next probably.
Bro thank you your how to's are absolutely fantastic!!! when I'm ready to learn a new trick I go to You and Mr Mancuso. I love how you talked about appreciating just getting that little bit of a feeble and completely falling off the end, instead of being unhappy that it wasn't clean. I'm stoked for every little bit of progress I make!
This means so much to me Aaron! I’m stoked that Alfredo and I can help with learning these tricks. Always give yourself a pat on the back for the small things and keep pushing forward! And Thank you for your kind words bro!
I’m wondering if you’re out of LA? Would love to meet up with u and learn. I’m an x gang member out of the joint after doing 15. Always loved riding, but just now at the age of 40 learning tricks😊 Let me know if you’re ever around! P.S. loved the video. So humble😊
Going a bit faster than you think you need to is also really helpful in properly pulling off of double pegs. I remember doing a double peg on a flat ledge alongside a wheelchair ramp and it was like 1 foot tall at the start and 2.5-3 feet high by the time I had to get off and I would have a much smoother and less scary dismount when I went faster.
Do higher bunnyhops than required to do the grind give me more time and less fear to get the trick and to know exactly how much i need to jump, later I was able to jump just what I needed
Beautiful video I don't think I could explain how to grind to someone better then this and I just thought I wasn't very good at double pegs but I'm sure this will help alot with motivation and technique I fs notice it does feel wierd and un natural to double peg and especially to hop out of them I find myself going to hop out of double peg and I feel as if I get no pop
4:51 I've allway's sed to peeps go at the ledge at a 45° angle when your front wheel get close to the ledge hop on get in to feeble and keep your front wheel close to the edge of the ledge 👍
Thanks for posting this! My local skateparks are melting out soon and I can't wait to go learn something new. Any tips for double peg stalls on a quarter?
I tend to choke up on the hop,. I just suddenly hold back tha pull for some reason. I am quite tall for the bike, but not much to be done, as it is a 21 already. I guess I hunch too much forward or something. I justy end up bonking the front peg hard, completeley missing to get the tyre on, even if it is a super perfect ledge. It is llkie I am acred of something that there is really no chance of happening
3:46 Make sure your front wheel is on the top of the ledge level with the edge when you hop on so your back peg don't slip off the ledge when you grind it 👍
I’m sorry to hear that man! I hope you’re doing better now. I would say just start from the basics again. Even though you can already do a feeble just repeat the process of learning it and doing it on smaller things. That usually helps me build up my confidence with the trick. When I feel that I can do a feeble on a flat ledge consistently, it gives me a little more confidence when attempting something more scary. Trust your skill over the fear! You will eventually come out on top!
Why does he ride left hand drive (sprocket) if he naturally grinds on the left? I'm guessing he's dialled enough to avoid damage but not on opposites? Only asking cos I thought right side hubs were more common.
Hey I love these videos. I have a question about getting out of Smith. I've seen so many riders do Smith to nose on the ledge and I just don't get it. I'm comfortable doing feeb to Smith but I always come out nose heavy. I would like to learn Smith to feeb. Any suggestions?
I found the trick to consistent feeb-to-smith was staring at my peg while in the smith, then when you hop out of the smith into the feeble then your back peg sort of naturally drops into the feeble. Practicing smith to ice chinks at the end of a ledge is a good way to practice the feel of hopping out of a smith and leveling out.
I tried pegs once but it felt like I was constantly getting pushed away because I couldnt hold my bike straight.. Do I really have to put so much effort in to keep my bike from sliding off the ledge? And do you get used to that after some time or is it like something you have to always keep in mind while grinding?
I always thought GT riders were required to wesr helmets for the image of the brand or somethin? I know hes not doin anything crazy but still i thought they always wore them
I'm pretty sure he talked about that on the Unclicked podcast he did. I don't remember the full answer but I think they just found a middle ground. I also highly recommend listening to the whole episode
i feel double pegs are easier than any other grind, i first started double pegs then learnt every other trick after. double pegs give more more of a front end control for rails that just my opinion. plus i feel down hill ledges are alot more fun to learn on than straight ledges
“even when i grind a rail i still get butterflies” isnt this why we ride?!?! beating that fear is the best feeling a human can possibly have.
Truth
Demarcus is great at teaching
Love the Demarcus Paul how to videos, he's very good at explaining the learning process. Makes me want to throw some pegs on and try riding street for once
I appreciate that man seriously. Don’t limit yourself. Try it out and go from there. 🙏🏿🙌🏿
you really should, riding street is probably the most fun part of biking (personal opinion)
No pegs no fun. Even just touching a rail or ledge with pegs is exciting
The most well spoken, well examples, well taught how to videos I’ve ever seen. Broke down everything that was needed
Sees D-Mo, immediate click....
Yoooo 🙏🏿♥️
Man, this is one of the best positive reinforment vids iv ever seen, the emphasis he puts into making a point of taking the little wins is awsome,

Glad you enjoyed it!
Just landed my first ice, and I’m stoked Thanks for the positivity Demo
Yooooo that sooo sick man! 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Congrats! Thats gonna be my next grind move to learn. My favorite!

Ice pick is just the front peg? or back?
I've watched this 100 times. Thanks!

So true! Thank you for the support brotha.
I feel so happy now that I know I don't have to change me driveside to do grinds 👀👍, this vid helped a lot 💯.
Thanks for the advice I'm in the stages of learning grinds

I can do Derek dusters better than I can do t-hangs lol. But I can regular tooth fine it’s weird.
🙌🏼😊 I really like this video , hopefully you make new how to longer smith grind ( rail ) the secret of longer smith grind 🤩
Took a giant spill learning feebles on a hubba ledge... broke a couple ribs... how do i gain the confidence back to try again?
I’m sorry to hear that man! I hope you’re doing better now.

Only asking cos I thought right side hubs were more common.
Just watched more, not sure if he is left natural or just good at both sides.
Try and keep a little more weight on whatever wheel is on the ledge or rail, it'll help you slide better.

I’m learning double peg as my first grind trick. I’m getting better but still haven’t moved from a ledge to a rail.
I loved the video, could you guys do tips for easy and hard spins out of grinds?
Boooom!! Good video!!!
Like, sub!!))
Have a nice day❤
Thank you
Any tips on smith? I can hop on and grind, but can't get out... HELP!!! PLEASE!
Take advantage of the fact that the rear wheel is over the edge that will help you lift the front wheel and do the bunny out
Nollie out and just pull off a litttle
I tried pegs once but it felt like I was constantly getting pushed away because I couldnt hold my bike straight.. Do I really have to put so much effort in to keep my bike from sliding off the ledge? And do you get used to that after some time or is it like something you have to always keep in mind while grinding?
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
im so scared to grind pls help me my bhop is high but scared to grind
Built a rail to learn to grind now trying to figure what your saying with no sound
The best secret to grinds is taking your grind stabilisers off. Use your pedals and dropouts #pegless4life
Maybe he could help with backflip 😅
😅😅
@@DeMarcusPaul I've seen your flips!
I learned double pegs then feebles which are easier if you have enough hop if not the double pegs are good to start with
😉👏🇧🇷
Also just practice hopping onto a small ledge at low speed to learn the body position and just stall. Don't try sending it at speed straight out
I always thought GT riders were required to wesr helmets for the image of the brand or somethin? I know hes not doin anything crazy but still i thought they always wore them

Nah bro double peg is the easiest, you do first grinds like this on 1 foot ledge its easier to do D-peg than feeble
I learned double peg first
Just get pegs that are 2 foot long lolol
