What happened to you MPK249?
🔥🔥🔥my configuration is exactly this! FL+MPD232+Serato Sample for life!!!🔥🔥🔥
Niiicceee!!
@@theycallmeheat 🤟❤️🎶🎧💯
Theres a lot of potential with how you map the dials and faders. Ive had it for years and STILL havent wrapped my head around how I would want to map it all out. This helps a lot. Peace
True!! It’s a great controller, so much that can be done on it. 💯💯
Dope video brother. Thank you. I didnt know serato sample before, gonna drop some gems with this and my mpd32. Cheers from Brazil!
How do u map the pads??? Im using MPC Studio
This is dope: I have the MPD24 Is there anywhere i can go for a resource on how to use it? MPD-24 and FL STUDIO combo.
man just because if this video i remembered i have this exact unit dusting in my basement. getting it out right now.
Glover Glen
Hey man, nice Video. But whyvyou don't use SliceX ? It's a free fl studio plug that can be used for slicing and chopping Samples. Also the sliced samples could be Transport into fpc. It's just a question. ✌️
Glad to see im not alone with buying stuff then reselling then buying lol i sold my mpd twice and i was about to sell again but i needed to see videos like this to remind why that controller is still dope.
fpc16 mapping had 🗒️ ✍️ for pads 😆 with mpd32
I retired my mpd32. It lacks a lot of needed functionality. I'm going to get a Machine mk3 and use fl studio midi script.
I would say you spent more money for the same functions. You can set the MPD to do what you need as long as FL allows it.
@@theycallmeheat I've had my mpd since around 2012. The mpd232 has a bit more functionality but it still lacks a lot of useful features.
I used to own MPD32 and I used to Map it with Ableton, and it was fire...more like MPC.
Yeah. Any pad controller is great for Ableton.
@@theycallmeheat fdc16 mapping had 🗒️ ✍️ for pads 😆 with mpd32

Where can I get your new pad set ? I want to change it too.
Mpc Stuff website. Thats where I got mine from
The mpc live 2 and Serato sample 2.0 are a match made in heaven that along with the mpc software
Now that the mpc has stem separation built in now the mpc can do it all in the mpc
Dope video bro really appreciate ur insight on this topic. Master what u have before u venture out is what I pick up the most from this video.... What made u pick the mpd 32 and not one of the newer mpd models like the 226/232 ?
From someone who started out using FL studio and learned Ableton Live, I think it is definitely worth it. I worked at Guitar Center years ago and they said I could get a free version of Live if I did the course to become a certified instructor, so I did it. After I learned what the daw was about, I don't think I've used FL studio since. The aesthetics, the way they do tutorial videos, the overall feel of the company, the workflow, idk it just sucked me in. I don't think one is necessarily better than the other, but I definitely use Ableton Live every day now for the past I'd say 6 years - and I'm still learning new stuff every year.
I still use my MPD 32 but I use it with the ipad and BM3. I have a workflow with the 32. My favorite part are the slide faders. If I had to sell my gear to get money up I'd keep the 32. A lot of people say the pads are stiff but I don't have that issue. It doesn't bother me.
Dooopppeee!! Yeah, I swapped out my pads for the fat joints. But all pads will be stiff if they are not being used. Lol
I picked up the mpd218 its pretty basic but the pads are very responsive and i do everything else on fl anyway so all good!
Any Akai Pad Controller is dope to me. 💯💯
@@theycallmeheat love bro
You waffle too much.
And you lack french toast!
MPC One with serato sampler here👊🏽🤲🏽
Niiiiceee!!! Dope combo right there.
I never knew you could get fat pads for the mpd! Dope!!
Oh my god this was the video needed. I bought it and wasn't convinced to use it, going to break it out soon.
Yeah, hook that controller up. It has sooo much purpose in our music production. 💯💯
I believe by the end of next year MPC Studio will come out with a feature like the serato sampler 2.0
They need to if they want to stay afloat with everyone else.
Funny...mine is in the recycle bin in the garage...had it since 2009, the usb port stopped working. I hated the pads...i had to get them replaced with mpcstuff fat pads. But its what i used for many years with my DAW. Now im stuck chopping samples with my midi keyboard...which isn't my thing...
MPD226 pads i hear have a lot of issues with double triggering and notes not registering. MPD32 probably the most reliable overall.
Had a 226, mine was in the garbage for the exact reasons you listed. Double triggering, no triggering - all kinds of messed up. Eventually grabbed the Live II and that has been a much better experience overall. I do dig the setup of the MPD32 with FL, though.
@@kt937 yeah... better options other than MPDs would be Synido Tempo Pad, and nektar Aruba 👍🏾
You have a MPK 249, so why do you need the MPD, which is basically the exact same device but without keys, apart from some small difference to the number of pads they are identical?
Yeah most definitely. But the pads on the mpk are those of the MPC ONE. So they are super small. Compared to the normal size pads on the MPD. And I wanted JUST pads for when I travel or move around.
@@theycallmeheat Makes sence, I have MPK 49 294 and Mini mk3. The mini is My mobile option.
Yo, I just broke my MPD32 back out after I started having problems with my MPK 249. It still spits fire. 👌🏾 Nice beat bruh. 👍🏾
Got one for 60 dollars
Breitenberg Course
I've had mine for YEARS & really didn't see the benefit of it. Still gonna cop more devices for pure musicianship but I'll def dig deeper into this now.
I´ve sold mine last Week lol, for some reason I never used it and hit the Keys Instead . ..I just asked myself...why this dude bought this old unit for over 100 bugs 🤨, now I understand why👍 Peace out Bro! I know you got Soul ...
How do you remap the pads in serato sampler so that they flow in order from Left to right ?
I had to change the notes on the MPD for each pad from 1-16 in each bank until each pad hit a new pad in serato sample.
you can do it with just a controller and just a computer. and just a monitor. and a keyboard.
and software.
Well do it your way my friend!!
@@theycallmeheat I just checked MPC one and how much cost Plugins for it - 50/100 Euro plugin and now I am disappointed 😄
Why you Tab IT Out on 170 bpm ? If i Count the Beat after you Put the Drums ITS 85bpm , thats 170bpm so you Tab doubletime
Yep. But I work in double time because of the bounce it gives me when I hear the metronome. There’s no bounce (to me) at 85bpm. 💯
@@theycallmeheat Ok i understand the Metronome gets more Like a fast hihat , i will Put my Metronome Up to These notes 😂😂😂 i realised IT Yesterday but now IT because clear
Within This i already have a hihat to Set the Kicks ,snares and after This the hihats
Thx for the answer
You smart. Even if you do make boom bap in FL 😂😂😂
ahahahah!!!
I made so many beats with the 32 in Reason.
Niiiceee!!!
its not the tools you have, but how you use them that is important. simplicity is the most effective method in a world where we are over swamped in so much gear to the point of oversaturation. just pick what works and stick with it
I challange you to make a beat in kids game - animal jam, my little sis was playing and i was like dang it actually have some sounds 😅
It depends On Personal Preferences I Still Produce In Mpc 2500 And Track Out In Fl
true!! this is allll preference. I just prefer the simpler way of doing things, lol
@@theycallmeheat hardware is simpler imo, pure and raw beat making. Limitations provoke creativity. btw we can use stems just sample from serato EZ PZ
I like the way you think. I have the MPD 16 & the MPD 18. I haven't used them in years, because they give me issues mapping pads, so I got an Akai fire for my controller for now.
I like my akai mpd218 controller. Its an old machine too. I use it for everything: sampling, tapping out drum patterns etc. The only other machine i have is the maschine mikro mk3 that i use when i create in maschine. Thats all i got.
The pads are just awful, old mpcs are best for pads.
They are much smaller than the normal pads, I do hate how they feel now compared to old mpcs, but you can change them out as well.
@theycallmeheat The only one that takes the same sensors as the 60, 60ii, 3000, 3000LE, 2000, 2000XL, and 4000 - is the MPD16. That era of MPCs has the best pads, so technically, you could mod an MPD16 and weight it with lead. Full rubber Phat Pads with something on the sensor (electrical tape or discs from the mod kits) with those OG sensors will always be the best pads ever. You can still buy the sensors, 5 would last most people a lifetime.
Thanks for this. I picked one up for ~$65 based on your recommendation and I think so far it was a good call. My midi rig is now complete, and completely OTT. Got a big 61key piano action, a lil 49 key Laboratory keyboard, a tiny Launchpad and one of these MPDs that's basically just a drum pad for me.
I ended up going a bit wild with old hardware synths. A real Roland Sound Canvas (also my primary audio interface for guitar, vocals, bass) and Studio Canvas and a real Yamaha MU; plus DIY MT-32 and DX7 clones for that 80's vibe. All completely unnecessary, but they were super cheap and means I can run the entire studio on a PC that cost $80 brand new at launch without CPU or RAM problems.
So, thanks a bundle for a great video!
Super dope!! Thanks for tuning in fam 💯💯
yep, i stick ith the maschine mikro 3 and novation launchpad X bundle ...does everthing i need in fl studio
nice!! I've looked into that before I got my MPD.
Flstudio? I have use 4 versions 9f it. 😅
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks fam!! 💯💯💯
I really love the MPK261! The most complete MIDI-Controller for me and the best looking!
Yep!!
its sounds like you have a compresser on you mix! Its pumping/gating!
nope not in FL. I think in OBS it automatically does that if the sound clips. but nothing on my end.
I know and used that sample myself. You blazed that beat! Dope😮😊
Thanks for listening!! 💯
Gotta use that flute at 10:41
maravilha ficou eu tenho uma mpd32 top
vamo brasillll
Dope!!
Is it and the editor software still compatible with windows 11
not sure. but you dont even need it, because you can change everything right on the controller.
Yeah, this def better if you stuck to the computer. Dope beat btw.
For sure!! Thanks for tuning in fam. 💯💯
When I bought my MPC X and was setting it up my wife was like "Don't you have that one already!" LMAO. 😱
🤣🤣 Yeah the 32 is built like a tank! Lol, so I definitely understand where she coming from.
@@theycallmeheat I was a little embarrassed for her and myself. I’m almost like “WTF did I spend all this money for? 😁
Mpd32 and 26 not supported by MPC Beats DAW
🤔🤔 it’s only a controller. That’s super weird if true.
@@theycallmeheat i still have mpd26, i used it in Koala Sampler installed in my android tablet, .hehe
Anyway, i love to watch your videos, i am fan sir, from the Philippines🙂, we have also a lot of local beatmakers here, Beatstyles Manila..hehe
Wait a minute. Serato has midi learn !??! Where is it? I've been looking for it forever.
I think it does but I don’t use it. I can set the cc notes or midi number to correspond to the proper pads.
@@theycallmeheat how do you do that ?
You should change that mpc to a carrot on your hoodie
You’re actually onto something fam!!! 💯💯💯
I use the MPD 226 in ableton and mpc.
dope!!! I almost got that one
Man you know to make dope basslines. I wish i could do that. I make bass lines another way but would like to be more creative like you do.
Thanks fam!! I’m working on a course right now breaking down how to make basslines. Subscribe to the channel if you’re not, so you don’t miss out when I release that course.

@tylowe78 aaayyyyyeeee!!! 💯💯💪🏾💪🏾🙏🏽🙏🏽
I was gifted an mpd 24 I use with akai fire
thats super dope!!! the 24 is an OG. well both of these. lol, but I like the look of the 24.
@@theycallmeheat faders on the 32 are nice
I love your energy
Thanka John!! Appreciate you tuning in 💯💯
Dope!
Thanks Larry!! 💯
Mac has a drum synth and so me my more so yes we can you fart bubble
Ahh damn it’s a controller . Pass
to each his own. gotta find what works for you. 💯
Yes the fatpads are amazing I got some on mine too!
Why not just get the MPD226? The pads on that are good. But I do agree stick with the equipment that you're comfortable with. For years Ive been jumping around from Maschine to Reason to Ableton but now I stuck with the MPC because I instantly clicked with its workflow and im comfortable with the workflow as well.
the 226 and 32 are basically the same unit. the 32 just has more knobs and pots. I hate the build of the 226. lol, so I got the 32 instead.
7:35 lol yes we can in controller mode 😂😂😂
hahahaha!!! naaaaahhh, until they have true stem separation on the mpc its not the same.
How does the fl preset work on 21?
I made my own preset for FL. So mine works GREAT. Lol
@@theycallmeheat word i have the chance to grab a mint 32 for $50 may need a hand setting up my own as well lol
