  • I walk around Piassa in search of a barber, but as soon as I dive into the narrow streets, everyone is terrified of my camera. Finally, I find some people to help me find a barber, but sadly, my guides were not genuine... I could hear them talking about how much they should charge me, during a big part of the haircut...

If you died TODAY, where would you be spending eternity? Have all your sins been forgiven or are you still hoping that you're a good enough person to earn a spot in heaven.
The reality is that no one can earn a spot, our sin disqualifies us. But the God news is that Jesus paid for our qualification by dying on our behalf taking the punishment that we deserved.
JESUS said, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son; that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
Nothing is more important than your eternal destination. Please, don't say, "When I get older I'll get right with God' or 'I'll get serious with Jesus one day when I'm ready.'
Don't wait any longer, today is the day of salvation. Get right with God today, for tomorrow very well might be too late.
We invite you to REPENT and accept that Jesus Christ is Lord of your life by praying this simple prayer out loud right now...
'Heavenly Father, I turn away from my old life and repent for my sins. I believe that Jesus came for me, that Jesus died for me and that Jesus rose again for me so that I can be forgiven and receive eternal life. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, receive the gift of eternal life. I ask you to fill me with the Holy Spirit and lead me for the rest of my life. In Jesus name - Amen.

His facial expression tells you everything. Personally, I would have just paid the 600 Birr/$10.98/ and walked away from them. There is a lot of poverty in the country. Inflation is at an all time high and the cost of everything is skyrocketing. 1 US Dollar is 54.64 Birr at banks and airports, but 1 USD is widely traded in the black market for 110 Birr, so 600 Birr is basically $5.45.

Not too sure here; it's a poor country, you film in there, you CAN afford to overpay by a little bit - 8 Euros is somewhat "fine" and not actually outrageous.
And that's n o t the price in Europe; even in Georgia or Armenia, you'll pay usually more than that for a haircut and a shave. :-)
In Germany, going to a Persian or Arabian barber, it'll cost nowadays at least +/- 20 Euros.

that’s some ridiculous price for such filthy equipment and low quality place. sorry yves but i would’ve never let him touch my face with that lack of hygiene especially the razor! man you took a big risk there 😅 better luck on your next haircut.

All countries have the failed and good generations, and those two peoples who scammed you they were the failed one. As Ethiopian i am truly sad seeing those types of trash peoples and my apologies on behalf of all immature individuals in my country who did such stupid things..

Aside from the scamming, that was probably one of the worst shaves I’ve ever seen in my life. I winced watching that. The guy clearly doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing.

As a experienced and seasoned international traveller, I can say that anyone trying to help you, and follows you, is a potential scammer. If they refer to you as "friend", run for your life.

It’s funny that he said he lived in Dallas Ft. Worth. Being from Texas my whole life, we know they are two separate cities. That would have been my first clue he was going to scam you. Hate it happened and very brave thing to confront them at the end!
