    This really helped me a lot to understand the translation of body movements into PixelArt.
    And it keeps me going with AeSprite, which is awesome.
    Would be great, if you continued this series, so the little guy gets some shading and movement.

    I was going to recommend adding a neck, but you got it lol. I draw with vector art and didn’t know how to make a pixel character. Now I see it’s very similar and not as hard as I thought. Thank you.

      Hi! Aw that's awesome! I do use a tablet, but not for small sprites and textures like in this video. If you plan on sticking with small sizes like 8x8, 16x16 or even 32x32, you totally don't need a tablet. But, for larger projects like 128x128 or 365x365, I'd recommend a tablet, since these higher resolutions are more like painting, then placing pixels :D I would still recommend Libresprite, since it's perfect for anything your pixel hearts desire! It does animation, stills, it can tile in different directions and it's free. But, if you have a hard time compiling it on Windows - and / or don't use Linux... you couldn't use Libresprite :/ Fortunately, there are many tutorials on the internet on how to compile applications on Windows :) The tablet I 100% recommend for digital art AND pixel art, is : www.huiontablet.com/huion-h610pro-8192.html cheap in comparison, plus it's what I've been using almost everyday for about 3 years :) I love it! (it might be a bit overkill if you're ONLY doing pixel art... but if you ever want to create digital paintings or anything that's not pixel art - you'll definitely need something like this ^^ ) :) For creating a game itself, that can be a pretty difficult thing to say for sure because many people have CRAZY license terms, and if you want to protect your game - it gets really hard to decide if you should use an engine - or skip all the license terms and code it from scratch yourself. Funnily enough, me and my mom are going through the same thing right now! :D But I'd recommend Godot for the time being, it's beautiful and their terms are pretty normal :) If y'all need anything else, just let me know ^__^ Sorry for the book :D

    I just got asprite and I m crazy new to pixel art. So my question is I have a few drawings I would like to outline so how do I get my drawings onto asprite so I can trace outline

    • @TutsByKai
      @TutsByKai  4 роки тому

      Well, you can just import them! Should be up in File. But, it's best to not do that - trying to trace an already drawn piece, isn't gonna work too well, since you only have a few pixels to work with. I'm gonna be making a re-creating an image into pixel art video soon! :)

    If you are working with multiple layers, how would you go about animating a new frame? Since you have to worry about the other layers.
    Also, is it better to animate after you're done shading and doing all the details? It is pretty confusing to me, haha.
    Thanks for the video.

      @@TutsByKai correct. So when I select the torso and above, I go to select the rest of the arms and instead of combining into one thing. It un-selects the previous one and starts a new one.

    I was struggling to achieve the effect you show where you use the Marquee to select then left-click select the Marquee and drag it down at about 3:46. This was because I was not using the "Context Menu" properly (see here: www.aseprite.org/docs/selecting/). If you pay attention to the video (perhaps play it on slow and pause it frequently) you can actually see TutsByKai turning on the different settings in the Context Menu on the upper left of the Aseprite window
