    I also have 5 characters in master. You left some good advice. If I had to add anything it'd be these things:
    1. Dont drive reversal jump ins or light attacks. The recovery for the op is faster than the DR and yo'll eat a full combo.
    2. If you're in the corner, people love to Neutral jump on wakeup after a knockdown. Dont panic grab! Have your anti air ready. I personally love to Drive rush forward on wakeup to escape the jump in, but should the op decide to shimmy, you beat them to the punch.
    3. Stop walking backwards and Stand your ground! Unless you have a last minute side switch strat (3 of my characters do Sim, Shid, Blanka) defend that entire open space behind you.

      Learning to take the throw until the last guess is something I've learned recently. It's pretty easy to react to them walking back. It takes about 12 throws to kill compared to 2 1/2 combos. Take the throw lol

    1. Learn to DI react, because everyone from gold to master will just DI at the most random time.

      Identify the areas you're weak in. Neutral/ Offense and Defense. Then work on eliminating your bad habits. Also work on matchups you're weakest at. It's all about micromanaging certain areas of your gameplay.

      In Platinum, you honestly mostly just have to wait for the opponent to hang themselves. They will do big mistakes with their spacing and offence, leaving themselves open.
      Bait and punish without dropping your combos and you pretty much will climb out of Platinum.

      Having been there and now Master. Anit-airs need to be on point. Stop dropping combos and wasting punish windows. When an opponent makes a mistake you should have at least 22% + combo ready to go. Use drive rush at times just to keep your opponent on his toes. Watch your drive meter because if you have a full life and no meter and I'm at half life with full meter I can't count how many times I've destroyed my opponent in that situation. I push back on learning perfect parry for you level. In fact I still can't perfect and have a master rank Ryu and Akuma about to be master rank. I think perfect parry its what's needed to get to upper levels of Master Rank though.

    The biggest thing that made a difference and had me climb plat-diamond into master was learning a safe block string and making sure I only attack if I'm "safe". Block strings do damage but if blocked leave you safe either in recovery frames or distance. Safe attacks would be like Akuma's heavy punch, if done at the right distance you can poke and if blocked be safe to most moves the enemy can counter with.
    Another is playing defensive and letting the enemy show you their patterns and let them step into mistakes. Find out if they are jumpers, either in to attack you or neutral jumpers. If so you know the gameplan and the win is easy. 1st round play defensively, let them throw out their gimmicks and tricks, get a feel for their gameplan, then counter. They usually fall into templates of playstyle - jumpers, drive impact spammers, overly aggressive (open themselves up to DI's and easy counters), etc.

    My 2 cents thats not even game related, if youre playing on tilt or frustrated for any reason, definitely take a breather and step away from the game until you feel clear headed, I know losing 4 matches in a row specially sweaty ones can be frustrating and will probably cause you to make more bad decisions and take more Ls in the matches ahead, so take care of yourself 🙏🏽

    The log building analogy is the best advice I've seen on YT. I thought Master rank was unattainable because they're juggling a million things at once but as you climb through the ranks you're really only adding 3 or 4 different ideas to your repertoire. I'm Master with 8 characters so far I want to his Master with every character. It's not only doable it's fairly easy, it just takes a bit of time

    I'm a person that started getting better at AA/DPs and defensive and neutral stuff first, and now I'm in Gold and having to actually learn combos and offensive pressure and mix ups. Should have started the with that first, but I've noticed getting to Silver and Gold now it's paying off. Only issue now is I have to improve my offense to put my pressure into a situation where they have to take risks.

    Hello, personally I'm stagnating in Gold with 2 characters, namely Manon and Dee Jay and for the latter I really like the character but I find that I'm limited in its possibilities (there are moves and great art that I don't I hardly use it) and I would say that my main problem is that I have problems with reactivity, that I don't completely use all my combos, that I don't use the training mode effectively and probably other concepts that the players master know but which I do not have (at least not yet).

    Can i please have your advice? Im a platinum Ken player. Been playing street figher since a kid casually. This however is the first year i took the game serious. Ive noticed i get blowed up in gold 5 and platinum 1 with drive impact. I use it so much because of potential for huge combos follow ups. My di percent is 16% i use it as a main tool in neutral and i believe its holding me back. Also i suck at drive rush cancel to extend my turn i hardly use it and only drive rush in from space in neutral. Sorry for long message. I love you content any advice will help

    • @DarkSynth
      @DarkSynth  24 дні тому +5

      My advice would be to cut out DI by quite a bit. It's not a good neutral tool at all as it's very reactable. It's really good to use when your opponent is burnt out and near the corner. You want to use movement and your normals to land hits on your opponent. People around those ranks will find one to 2 things to try and cheese wins. i.e jumping a lot/ Drive Impact. Let people hang themselves and do those things over and over again. Patience is also very key.

    Lol, i am in diamond 4, and till now my anti air game is still garbage.
    I just freeze up when the opponent jumps in too close, and it sucks a lot.
    Its really holding me back, especially when i see that everyone else can anti air so well.
    Im desprate to get to master, like really desprate..

    • @DarkSynth
      @DarkSynth  24 дні тому

      Don't be too desperate just to get an arbitrary title next to your name. Focus on honing in the skills to get there. Do some focus training. You're too comfortable not going for the anti air. You gotta train your brain to do the inputs when you see a jump. Set up 2 recordings like I mentioned in the video. Practice reacting to them jumping AT you.

    Any tips for getting out of the corner, even when I get the read and get the throw tech if they don't give up space and let me walk them down I feel unless, drive rush throw has been by go to but if they know how to check it I just lose.

    • @Puntersnatch
      @Puntersnatch 24 дні тому +1

      Risky to wake up throw tech. A good shimmy leads to huge punish and a successful tech only leads to neutral as you've noticed. Forward jump on wakeup is one way. Their throw would whiff and the most you'll have to pay is a cross cut dp which isn't happening in gold normally.

    • @Puntersnatch
      @Puntersnatch 24 дні тому +1

      Also backdash into button could be a good anti throw option

    • @DarkSynth
      @DarkSynth  24 дні тому +1

      @loganmadface5425 Lean to take the throw and wait for your opponent to try to shimmy. You can react to them walking back with a cr.mk or jump over them. If they're spaced out right and they throw out a normal you'll get a cross up and put them in the corner

    @JoNNyCLOUD171 23 дні тому

    As much as I appreciate people trying to help others. The expectations of Gold and Plat are WAAAAY off.
    Anti airs are more for Plat. The ABSOLUTE core of climbing all ranks to Diamond is using safe strings that can cancel into DI. Normal anti airs in Plat as well are key.
    That standards of gold and low plat are HORRENDOUS. Not being mean it's just a product of the system. Just as a detail. You can have a 15% win rate and be gold FACT. Plat also technically can have that but it takes more games played to have that low win rate.
    I have seen "Master" players have 40% win rates ONLY counting the games from Master.
    In general this guide is good and the message of focus on learning and the ranks will come is exceptional. But I had to call out the gold plat ranks because it is GENUINELY that bad. Good master players don't fully understand it because it's so long ago they forget the nuances.
    Regardless practice and learn "how to learn". What I mean by this is that knowing the good questions is already hard enough. Don't be that guy that grinds 2k games in gold woth a negative win rate to plat. The steps to get better are not that big once you understand what is needed.
    Trust me when I say that I couldn't get silver in SF5 and had a 76% win rate from Rookie to Plat in week 1 in SF6. You absolutely can do it and not to poop on the parade Plat isn't super high. But don't focus on that and instead focus on the improvement.

    What is the most BS about this ranking system and why I completely stopped playing ranked in the first week is that you can get a character you don't even know how to play with placed into diamond, even high diamond now after a patch.
    First week I played witch chars I wanted to play with and climbed, then tried a character I didn't know how to play and did the placements like 7-3 and got put in low diamond. I even tried a different character, purposely lost all placements 0-10 and got placed in high platinum.
    Rank is broken and now they changed it that you can get placed in high diamond now (I guess if you already have a character in masters)
