    I put a magnet on the right side of my steering wheel, more toward between the bottom of the steering wheel and the floorboard, and when I got in the car, I would unholster and attach it by the slide, and reholster before getting out. It was a great method, and easy to get to, not visible to possible jackers, but able to point out to LEO's. I also kept my license, registration, insurance, and permit on my visor and held in by my garage door opener. That was it's easy to produce when getting pulled over without reaching around the vehicle with a loaded firearm present.

    As a Firearms instructor I have to respectfully take issue with your statement about a gun discharging while bouncing around while in storage. Any firearm that would discharge while simply getting bounced around is not a safe firearm and is mechanically defective. All modern Firearms are designed to be drop safe and that includes movement in storage. I'm not advocating for transporting a gun in a glove box but I think you're giving misinformation around the potential for discharge.

    While in the sheriff academy during an officer safety lecture the instructor told us he secured his weapon on the seat underneath his left leg. Rationale, it was immediately accessible & you didn’t waste time drawing from a holster when seconds matter. I’ve used this method since 1982 without any problems. Maybe I’m more confident because of my training.

    An in the pants holster can double as a cross draw while driving. An ankle holster also is easy to access while driving. I don't recommend the glove box because on a traffic stop, if you grab the gun to move it to get to your papers a cop may thing you're going for the gun. Risky. On a traffic stop be sure to communicate what you're doing first so you aren't considered a threat to a cop.

    All firearms have a safety - it’s called a trigger finger. When carried in a quality holster a loaded firearm is completely safe. If you’re uncomfortable carrying a protective firearm with a round chambered, you either need more training or you need to find another type of shield with which to protect yourself from those who would otherwise impose their will on you.

    • @Rv3TRIPS
      @Rv3TRIPS 2 роки тому

      Not all firearms are safe for conceal carry. I know there's tons out there that are extremely safe now days but some people don't know depending on which one they buy. I carry FN Glock and Sig Sauer. Won't catch me with a Taurus 🤣

    • @Falconryder
      @Falconryder 2 роки тому +3

      I see this comment a lot, and disagree with the whole, "you should carry the way I do or not at all" spirit of it. While an unchambered firearm is a bit slower to first shot than a chambered one, it still beats a sharp stick any day, and is still far better protection than whatever the next best alternative to a firearm may be. Training helps, but it's an overstatement to say that lack of training is the only thing that can cause reticence to carry chambered. External safeties are a great idea. Many people don't like them, and some of them even have to competence level to make that work. For many people (including anyone that ever carried a 92 or a 1911 in service in the military,) external safeties work great for providing...safety, and don't impede a good first shot when needed. I'd say "to each his own," and people with "my way or the highway" attitudes to carry should begin to realize that nobody asked them, and their opinion is not binding to others.

      @@matthewbeaver5026 you can check with the sheriff or a CCW instructor. The stuff on line is not up to date. As far as I know WV state law on guns in cars are the same as guns in the house. You have to be 21 to start with and legally allowed to have a gun. Then you can carry open or concealed anywhere you are legally allowed to be. You also have to be sober. The CCW permit now is only for out of state carry. I live in the northern panhandle and I'm in PA and Ohio all the time. I carry a gun like I carry a cell phone. I know people that have tried to get the police to challenge the new gun laws but no one will. I haven't read the laws I've just know what people have said, like cops and attorneys. This covers long guns and shot guns to. Yes you can walk around with a loaded AR on your chest a pistol grip pump shot gun on your back and a .45 SA on a quick draw holster on your hip. You can carry concealed in your car. Although like in your house concealing a gun in your car is not recognized.

    In Florida, the law states that a weapon is not considered concealed if it is stored in luggage compartments or locked in the trunk. You can’t open carry in Florida so you can’t have it holstered on your waist openly...and you can’t conceal it without a permit so the best solution is to just keep it in the glove compartment or center console with the clip next to it.

I am with you on gun rights. Congress needs to work on laws that punish some of these medical professionals that kill patients accidentally (?) @@VonBluesman you realize that complications after surgery are different than shooting someone with a gun right? You’re comparing thousands of people who VOLUNTARILY have certain surgeries that have potential high risk factors to people who unintentionally get shot. You’re comparing doctors to criminals, cops, and random citizens with little to no training. There’s no logic in this argument. A lot of times, the human body is at fault as opposed to the surgeon if there’s a death after surgery. That can’t be said when it comes to gun deaths. So protesting 100,000 medical deaths is not as simple as opposing owning guns.

      It depends on the part of the "south" you're referring to.
      In Florida, you need to have a permit/license to carry concealed (open carry is currently illegal in Florida), and it's illegal to have your firearm in open view in your vehicle, even if you have a permit. If you don't want to carry, while driving, then you put the firearm in the glove compartment or in the center console.
      So, I don't know what part of "the south" you were referring to, or if you were just speaking in general, but either way, you definitely weren't talking about Florida.

    Yeah. I would rather have my pistol on me ,then mounted to the interior of a car/truck. Some criminal happens to get the drop on you and you having the weapon mounted is game over for you if you reach for the pistol. But having the pistol concealed on you is the best option ( if CRIMINAL gets the drop on you and you have to exit the car it's still ok cause you are still armed but now just getting out of the car . But that is my preference. You carry however you think is best for you.

    Just wondering. Wouldn't you need a "lefty" holster for a dash mount, or really any mount that is in front of you. It seems to me, being a "righty", that the reach toward the dash requires you to turn our hand in an awkward position to grab you gun. Whereby the lefty holster gives you a more natural feel and reach for you weapon. Asking for a friend, thanks. Also please add a Taurus G2C holster that will fit the Streamlight TLR6. Even tho every thing you read says it for a glock, it apparently fits a G2C. Again, thanks
