Fake Russian News Claims King 'Sold Highgrove House' to Ukrainian President

- The Royal Family has been the target of Russian disinformation.
Pro-Kremlin trolls have claimed that King Charles sold his royal residence of Highgrove House to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for a whopping £20 million.
A UA-cam report was circulated by a fake British news outlet called ‘The London Crier’, as well as a number of bots in other languages.
It was even shared by the official Russian Embassy account on X.
The report featured a real-estate professional who claimed to be the selling agent.
It appeared to be AI generated.
It also featured a phoney interview with the King’s former butler, Grant Harold.
Harold’s spokeswoman commented on the story, saying it was ‘completely false’ and that ‘Grant has made no comment on this.’
Kyiv also refuted the story, claiming that the allegations are ‘fake’.

It's very explainable. Putin is trying to destabilize any country that is supporting Ukraine. Going after the Royal Family, with conspiracies about the Prince and Princess of Wales and something like this where it appears that the King is doing business with the Ukrainian President, create division, distrust in the RF and chaos.

Not really. The implication is that Zelenskyy is ready to leave office and Ukraine, to further destabilize the country. Both of which are ridiculous.
No idea if Russia really began this rumor, but that is the King's favorite house.
He has all of his organic holdings in the way of vegetable gardens, livestock and
flower gardens there.
That would be the last place he would give up.

Wrong. The Duchy of Cornwall owns Highgrove - the house, garden and Duchy Home Farm - which has now been inherited by Prince William, the new Prince of Wales.

The King has never owned Highgrove. It was bought by the Duchy of Cornwall in the 1980s from the late Maurice MacMillian when the King was Prince of Wales. It remains a Duchy property on which the King pays rent.

The only thing that is true in some news is the date, even that is technically wrong in a newspaper as is printed the evening before and often available that evening, the day before the date.

Russia does not think that. Just as there are people in North America and Europe who spread misinformation, there are also Russians who do the same. There is no shortage of misinformation from all kinds of sources which is why it's important to look things up, use your own brain, and exercise common sense and critical thinking skills, otherwise you get indoctrinated or very misguided.
