- When a young man died in a car accident, his family donated his organs. For the first time, they met up Thursday with transplant patients whose lives were saved because of it. CBS2's Vanessa Murdock reports.

i have been there and have met my heart donor family, it is emotional! i am so glad that these families got to meet, only 1 in 5 get to meet their donor families!

If I received a transplant I'd be a friend of the donor's family until the end of time. A piece of their loved would *literally* be a part of me-they would become an extension of my family.
Same here. I would make sure they are living comfortably and without need in anything. I may not be able to get them a new vehicle, but I would make sure they got one they can count on.

I wanted to register as a bone marrow donor in my country but it's almost impossible because there is no organisation taking care of that . What makes matters worse i was slapped with the the fact that the donor and the recipient MUST have a family link. Living in third world country is basically living in hell.

That's why I am an organ donor, go give blood every 2 month and am registered for bone marrow donation. You never now how many people you could help and make so many lifes richer and full of joy. I hope if I die before everything in my body is useless, that I can help people just like this. I think it is sad that the law in Germany, that everyone is organ donor by default except they explicitly say otherwise did not pass. I think there would be a lot more donors because a lot of people just don't give it one thought and still don't care if anything is taken out after their deaths.
