My mom never knew my grandma, she died when she was two. I had the privilege that my grandpa knew me when I was a baby, but I never met him.
I have met both grandparents from my dad's side, and my great grandma too. My grandpa died in 2021, and I didn't assist his funeral, a thing that'll chase me the rest of my life.
They laughed when he told his brother “ay, they gon name the block after me.” but that was so important to him. I felt that.
