I don’t think people realize that we’re living in a Renaissance when it comes to art there are so many great artist The Internet has given us the tools to know these artist its beautiful great time to be a tattoo artist I’ve been tattooing for 13 years the explosion in popularity is in sane I love it🤙🏽
Truth! I don’t care about the cost of a tattoo, my artist is amazing, and she’s usually booked out a year ahead, but that’s who I want doing my work. I’ll pay the price and wait the wait for a beautiful piece that I’ll have for the rest of my life.
@@16gbgirl94 My artist IS amazing as well. I did pay a LOT of money for mine , but It was my very first (and only) tattoo and I made sure I did the research and I went to a Tattoo Convention asked LOTS of questions and Found my artist (in my state) 10+ years of waiting and debating what I wanted and I am extremely happy and Ill never do a cover up like some people who rushed to get one. Mine is almost 2 years old...

my thoughts exactly, no outlines and layering colors and textures.....what they dont get is that it will blur and fall out over time so all those fancy details will be lost, and it will look like crap in a few years
This is beyond good! True passion for their work, I love tattoo artists who truly love what they do and take every measure to become better! Worth every penny!

And add to this that you are using an unforgiving medium on skin i truly believe you should all get together to have an exhibition of your work. Total respect heather.
I am absolutely blown away by the art work of these individuals such great talent. I love how professional they all are and the dedication they put into their work striving to be better with every tattoo. I would love to have a peice form any of these guys.
Steve Butcher is my all-time favourite, not only hyper-realism tattoo artist, but just artist in general. Everyone needs to look up his hyper-realism portrait tattoos on google at least once. He's out of this world. It's insane. Some of them literally just look like the real picture superimposed onto the skin in an edit. I can't even believe it's possible.
devil man zx just shows there are levels to the tattoo game. Just when u think you've seen some amazing tattoos being done around you, something like this pops up and shoes how many levels above some people are over the ones you considered the best you've seen. That stuff has got to be EXPENSIVE. Apologies for rambling
Absolutely amazing!!! 😍 Everything was soooo beautiful, I wish I could afford to have 1 of you do a portrait of my sister who passed away. 😢 I haven't found the right artist yet but I will eventually, she deserves the best!!! 💜
Holy shit all of my favorite artists on 1 show. I’m amazed and very impressed that a major network got it right with the selection of artists in this episode! Salute to your research team. They f*cking nailed it!
I might be the only one without a tattoo! I want one now, but too expensive. Aawe. So many beautiful pieces out there. I'm sure it would be hard to stop at just one.
I love seeing realism tattoos and admiring the detail. I personally do not want one and like having traditional styled ones, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate other forms of art.

It would be a big HONOR to have one of your tattoos!! 😲😃🙂 .... Respectful Greetings from SWITZERLAND 🇨🇭 ✌😌 ...
As a 10 year tattooer I love how not ONCE in this entire piece did they mention LONGEVITY. Realism isn't as difficult as the artists who (exclusively) do it make it seem. The true challenges are: 1- having the tattoo still look hyper realistic after it's healed (1 month) and settled in the skin (3-6 months). 2- If you can accomplish that, which I find most can not, then the client has to almost completely keep the area from UV sunlight which causes the extreme detail (which makes it look so real) to begin to deteriorate RAPIDLY. I'm not dissing realism in tattooing entirely, far from it, I just feel strongly that it's being hyped up at the moment and also isn't represented accurately to the public.
colin clements I know this comment is a year old, but do you know where I can find more info on realism longevity? I’m planning on starting a sleeve here soon, but I’ve also heard things similar to what you’ve said and having got a straight answer anywhere I look.
@@samuraislipp4485 I'm glad my little "rant" might actually help someone from getting a tattoo they could one day regret, which is why I posted it in the first place. The problem is this, there is no straight answer when it comes to realism. There are so many variables involved unless you're an experienced tattooer you won't even be able to understand half of them. The internet is littered with lies and half truths about the subject because those who practice realism exclusively can't afford for the public to know that it's a risky style to get, even when done properly.
@@samuraislipp4485 What state do you live in and do you already have a specific studio/ artist in mind? If so, is that shop local? Or were you planning on traveling to go to a highly specialized artist? Is your heart set on realism as a style or is it just something that looks cool/ interesting to you?
colin clements I live in Washington, and was planning on going to shayne from Anchored Art in Spokane WA. I wasn’t set on realism until I saw this artists work
What the one guy was saying was that a black and grey realism tattoos is clearly a tattoo but a color realism tattoo looks like a painting because it looks so real
They didn't talk about how these kind of tattoos heals. What I mean by this is, even though the fresh version looks great, we have to keep in mind that in five years the colors won't maintain as bright as before
“People bragging saying they did this in 4 hours, that’s not impressive. What’s impressive is saying you did this in 40 hours.” That resonated with me a lot
crazybooklover21XX you get what you pay for. its 10 times more detail that is added from a 4 hour to a 40 hour peice
So true. I'm an art student and typically pieces of 18x24in can take anywhere from 30-60 hours to do with colored pencils for hyperrealism
Some people just work fast 😗
@@marieremelie6716 And they shred your skin. I want one who takes their time. I'll deal with the pain to get a stand-out tattoo.

I saw the thumbnail before I read the title and I thought they were tattooing peoples eyes the tattoo was so realistic
Uh

Gotta be honest that eye doesn’t look good. The white isn’t right
Damn that Michael Jordan tat was LEGIT dude

The 'African' man was actually Aboriginal.
