how do I get tattooed on the inside?
the fact that my self inflicted scars are bigger than most of those scars speaks VOLUMES about what i went through mentally vs what i assumed was okay. I wanted my artist to tattoo above it (not on it) but now i don't know if i am actually ready. I trust my artist and my shop and i KNOW he wouldn't judge me nor ask questions but theyre as bad in thickness as the guy that got impaled... my favorite thing about tattoo artists is that they NEVER judge people based on their skin.

It's so heart breaking that Halo did not win the breast cancer tattoo even with that amazing work and being a cancer survivor. That tattoo deserved a finale. That season is one of my favorites
I don't know if it was editing or what, but I didn't appreciate that he stood there shaking his head over every positive comment that was made about the other tattoos. Normal situation, go ahead, but the ladies didn't need to go back and see his negativity.

13:38 This tattoo honestly _blows_ my mind away. I had no idea a tattoo could be this beautiful, and coming up with such a fabulous design after his previous canvas ditched on him, it really is the best tattoo I've ever seen.
100%, he had the worst time in this challenge and created the the most beautiful art of the day. I didn’t get it from the stencil, but seeing it applied with his talent and tricks - wow, the final result was stunning, no other word for it. None of my tattoos are colour, but if I ever took a different path with my ink I would beat a path to his door!
The previous canvas didn't really ditch him. She passed out during the tattoo, and was deemed medically unfit to continue. The rest of your point still stands. He was given the worst hand, and still came out well above the rest.

The Danni and Laura one was so wholesome, they were both amazing sports. Laura was humble enough to be genuinely shocked she won best tattoo, and Danni looked sincerely stoked for her instead of bitter that she didn't get it.

Nate's ego cost him a place in the final by not listening to Kelly on incorporating orange in his new school design. Gian was humble and was listening as much as possible and it made the difference.
I adore that pinup tattoo with the old couple, the man in front of his car. It’s just so sweet and genuine, it looks like the pose from a real picture. It has so much heart and soul!
Me too! I really loved how the tattooist overcame the challenges plus... that cute tattood guy really got to me , standing there all sexy with his hand down his pants!! Now that's how to do a male pinup, this tattooist knows what the ladies like 😉

@@Coolman57408 2:22 her, he did the entire thing with an outline needle so it healed horribly and took months to fix up. It also looked extremely splotchy when it healed up finally.

Considering Nate has literally been tattooing for as long as Chris Nunez has, he should've mopped all the competition. Instead Ashely, who had been tattooing for 4-5 years went on to win this season. Nate let his ego get Infront of his artwork and it ultimately lead to his downfall.
His cockiness made me hate him immediately.

Jesse should've won, literally anyone with over five years of experience with drawing can draw an eagle, I've never seen what Jesse does before.
I hate how the editors keep showing the contestants making foul expressions when someone gets good critiques. It's so obviously forced, sometimes you can see the person in the back smiling and then it cuts to them shaking their heads and going 😡
Or smiling and laughing when someone gets a bad critique. I'm sure the editors make it look that way a lot and it's them smiling at something different.
That's my least favorite thing about the show, too.

A lot of the best tattoos are challenges where they can pick whatever they wanna do. They shine when their artistic brains can go wild
That's not reality of working with customers though, they usually have specific requests
@@SoulDelSol they often have people coming to them because of their specific style/taste. They also turn people away all the time. A good artist will turn away people that want a style out of their wheelhouse to avoid botching them for life.

My music teacher used to call it that. The g clef for the treble and f clef for the bass because of where they curl.

It made me mad when they said that Jesse's color was muted. That was the point of the character. The only pop of color, the orange and purple, is what makes the character who he is. The color helps him with getting food, because he probably is camouflaged in the water with his muted colouration. Its amazing!!
I love Anthony, but I've always preferred Jesse's little fish dude personally! And his colours look super smooth
The thing that really annoyed me was the dude off to the side that said he needed to “believe it would function”. A completely imagined creature doesn’t need to stick to traditional anatomy, and it’s not like the challenge was even fantasy creatures, it was freehand tattooing.

people aren't necessarily "anatomically correct" when you draw them in a cartoon style.. so why should a cartoon fantasy animal be that?
But the orange and purple areas were problematic ones

I just wanna point out how wonderfully supportive Dani is. Whenever Laura just edges out the win over Dani, Dani still looks just SO proud of Laura, it just makes my heart soar
I don't understand the hate on Jesse's tattoo. Who doesn't want a weird ass fish creature, it's such a fun tattoo.
I don't think the judges were hating but rather just critiquing. They def agreed it was fun and creative, but technical application and minor inconsistencies is what got him. They weren't knocking his subject matter but how it was executed, for example, it being a new school piece, it's color palette was muted (versus being more bright and vibrant like how most new school is categorized by), line weight (some lines seemed solid whole others seem sketchy and scratchy), and color application (some of the orange circles didn't look as clean or solid compared to other colors used).
People can have different ideas what is good, and expecially permanent art on skin should be more than fun.
I’m sorry, but I literally hated it. Technically it was good yeah, but I would have preferred the eagle every day of the week. Different taste I guess.

00:02 - Is literally one of the nicest tattoos I've seen. Usually it seems like women as tattoos aren't really beautiful. They're attractive, but many don't even look good (speaking about the face.) The woman in that tattoo is gorgeous. The eyes and nose are perfect. Very well done, whoever did it

Still think the best Non-Finale Tattoo in the show's history is Duffy's Victorian Throat Piece. In terms of difficulty of placement, the shear size, the perfect symmetry, and no trauma, it's perfect

That deltoid music tattoo from Mystical Mike turned out awful when it healed, sadly. And Kyle being massively rude about the guy with arthritis and swelling on his fingers? Not okay unless thats the banter you have WITH the canvas. Some people deal with pain and want tattoos that help them, its not up to him to judge or potentially cause more pain.
For some reason, getting a tattoo where you have arthritis doesn’t seem like the best way to avoid pain…
I was legitimately thinking like “damn, isn’t there any way to reduce the swelling/pain the canvas will experience? Holding it in ice water for a little bit? Ouch, that tattoo’s gonna hurt.” That canvas is tough as nails to sit through it, and I was *not* appreciating Kyle’s attitude (as usual) about something that isn’t canvas’s fault.

Only thing I don’t like about the owl tattoo is that the eyes look like they aren’t facing forward all the way. Owls can’t move their eyes so the eyes should be perfectly facing to the front, in line with the beak.
That's a really fun little thing you noticed that most people wouldn't! I never knew that owls couldn't move their eyes!
@@szymon709 Yeah it’s fascinating, for whatever reason I remembered that from somewhere. They have essentially a tube-like “eye” that cannot move. You’d think the owl tattooing expert would know, that’s what I didn’t like about that one (because he specifically claimed that he is great at owl tattoos).

I honestly don’t think I could get my scars covered. I have really noticeable scars across my wrists from when I tried to unalive myself when I was a teenager and I used to hate them but now you couldn’t pay me to cover them. I’m proud of how far I have come and what I survived. I might get tattoos around them but never over them.

Christian acting like Cleen's strawberry tattoo was easier because he cut it in half is ridiculous, it was sooooo much more detailed. Cleen's sparkplug was also way more legible and the color play was better too. I think they had to give Christian a few wins just to make it look competitive but imo Christian is only better at black and grey realism.
And the black and Greg realism is not really that great either I have seen younger tattoo artist in this show who have been tattooing for way shorter and do better
I know people hate when I say this but here I go.
I wish they would show all the finished tattoos. I KNOW this the “best” tattoo video. But they show it in the works so I always want to see the end to compare the BEST to what lost.

It's definitely very hard to judge a spark plug when you clearly don't know what one looks like. There was only 1 spark plug made in the part around 1:09:45.

I’m so jealous of people who can draw without a reference. I consider that real talent. I absolutely NEED a reference when I draw otherwise it looks like an 8 year old did it
Using a reference is a good thing. The only way you can draw something without is if you have truly intensely studied something in all aspects. And that is usually only done with things you draw very often. That level of observance can be learned but even then just using a reference is better. Pretty much all masters use them.
That final pinup tattoo Angel did was so fucking cute, she deserved to win
the challenge at the hour mark with nate vs gian is a great example of having too much ego vs being willing to listen to someone who has more experience in a certain area.

I'm pretty sure the artists end up finishing them after the challenge. I highly doubt it would be left unfinished. So many people would be left very unhappy and that would most definitely go against the show which would make it fairly unpopular and you don't have multiple seasons while being unpopular or disliked.

That treble clef tattoo came back through as a redemption tattoo and the artist was a cocky asshole. Poor woman just got hammered and ended up with scarring, blowouts, and residual pain. She reached out to him multiple times in an attempt to get him to fix it and eventually had to have another artist fix it, at which point the original artist got pissed that she dared to mess with his tattoo. He legitimately thought it was his say what she did to it and said she shouldn’t have touched it without his permission. He then said it was her fault it didn’t look good because she must have had improper aftercare, even though the artist who fixed it came forward and said it wasn’t an aftercare issue but having her arm hammered
