    There's a solution for the topspin, and that's down to string selection. That 16x20 pattern is actually more open than most 16x19 out there, e.g. Ezone 98 or Radical MP / Pro, so the pattern is not an issue in itself. Power can easily be remedied by a moderate amount of lead. I found it very stable in stock form, and great with 1.5g of lead at 10 and 2 each.

    • @treeflip7
      @treeflip7 10 місяців тому

      It’s definitely not more open than the radical. Yes to Ezone. String selection matters, but the 95 isn’t meant to be a spin monster. It’s meant to be an easy swinging advanced players racket (perfect fit for those who used to be high level players but don’t want to swing around a block of wood anymore due to age, arm issues, etc).

    I wonder why you named this video "the SAVIOR of Yonex". I've never seen more Yonex on the courts and on tour than now. A years ago, I would never see anybody playing with one. Now, I see guys with EZONEs, VCores, even a few VCore Pros. And on ATP, more players are switching to Yonex than ever. I'd say they're doing extremely well.

      Yeah, Yonex doesn't need saving, they're crushing the game right now! But Mark has had arm issues with the Ezones, so they're all overpriced pieces of trash Amirite Mark?!

      @@MarkSansait Yeah, I saw your Ezone review. Can't be more opposite in my opinion towards it, I never had wrist issues, although I play the Tour and I am way older than you.
      I tested the VC 95 recently, it is really great, almost as good as the Regna. But I am so much dialed in on 98, I can't play anything else.

    I am having a lack of control and consistency with the yonex ezone 100, do you think that if I change it to the babolat pure aero 2023 it would improve? I feel more connected with the new Babolat, the ezone doesn't have as much control...

    I tested 21 and this 23 version, and they both seem great and very similar. I was able to buy 21 versions for $100 new so took that deal instead $270 each for current model.
    I do add leather grip and about 5 grams to 10 and 2 o’clock, putting it at 350 grams and 339 swingweight which is perfect for plow through and stability.
    Mark loves it for OH BH (it’s no secret since it was developed for Shapo !!) but I’m a two hander and it’s perfect as well.

    This 16x20 is more open than most 16x19. I was shocked. The launch angle is actually very high. I do agree that this racket misses plow through, mine came in at 315 swing weigth, which is just too low for a 95 head size. Adding some lead to 12 and counter balance the grip and it is a totally different racket. These more player focussed sticks are generally platform sticks that ALWAYS need some customization to suit your style. Reviewing it stock is just inadequate. Then most of your review is about the specs that actually can be changed. It's like reviewing a car on how the seats and mirrors are setup default from the factory.

    • @johnnyguitar6697
      @johnnyguitar6697 Рік тому

      My thoughts exactly. Bought a couple matched at 316 SW, added 3g of lead in the hoop (1.5g at 10 and 2 each) and stability / plow are a non issue. I too find the launch angle rather high, even playing with a controlled round poly (4G Soft), owing to a quite open string pattern. Another channel has compared it to the Ezone 98, and found the Vcore 95's 16x20 pattern to be more open than the 16x19 of the Ezone in the middle and top of the hoop where most shots will be hit. Also, I do manage to get my serve to kick like a mule, but it's one of my best shots and really down to technique.

    • @evylsalamie
      @evylsalamie Рік тому

      @@MarkSansait I think the new model was way better overall. Like you said, this new model you feel more connected to the ball. The string pattern was slightly more open which lead to a slightly higher launch angle. I’m a moderately spin heavy player and I didnt have any complaint on any of the spin shots. I think it’s easier to produce spin compared to the older model. Now I’m a player that modifies my sticks but even in stock form I really liked the new VC95.
      Is the 2023 vc95 the greatest racket yonex has produced? No but I think it’s pretty good out of all the current 16x20 rackets currently available. Just my .02

    I mean if you customized every racquet up to your home specs, wouldn't that actually reduce the number factors? Demoing only on whatever spec you end up with is just letting chaotic and unpredictable factors influence your review.

    • @MarkSansait
      @MarkSansait  Рік тому

      In a perfect world yeah, but that would also diminish the "uniqueness" of each stick in stock form.

  • @bsinghgill
    @bsinghgill Місяць тому

    Definitely not a saviour by a long shot. The VCore DNA has gone with this iteration. I’ve been using a 2021 VCore 95 customised to 350 grams, 330 swing weight. Tried the same customisation with the 2023 and the racket just feels too different. The change in frame geometry and stiffness has made this racket into a ‘wet noodle’. Of course lead can solve that to a degree, but then why didn’t Yonex weight this up accordingly? My next outing with this racket will be trying it stock and then add weight. It’s difficult when you have a frame that you love and trying something new never compares. I think the VCore Tour 98 is probably a better racket to play stock or add a leather grip to shift the balance. Mark, have you tried the VCore 98 Tour? Worth a demo I think as it’s a switchable frame for me at least👍
