Oh Maggie Renee! You have just reacted to my favorite song of all time! They were so truly talented. Other songs of theirs to react to would be: Walking in the Rain, Baby I Love You, Do I Love You, You Baby, (The Best Part of) Breakin Up and they also had a Christmas Album with great songs on it. ( They did the original versions of Don't Worry Baby and Chapel of Love as well) Best wishes and great success to you Maggie Renee!

The drumbeat behind this song is iconic - it is the masterful work of Hal Blaine of the Wrecking Crew and the 'Hal Blaine backbeat' was echoed in dozens of rock and roll songs throughout the 60s and beyond.

Ronnie Spector explained in her autobiography (which was also titled Be My Baby) how she came up with that "Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh" line.
When she was a little girl, she tried to yodel when she sang Jambalaya by Hank Williams at a family gathering. Instead, she blurted out that line. She stopped singing and began to cry because she thought she ruined the song. Her parents told her that it was a happy accident and encouraged her to sing that line.
So, her "Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh" became her trademark for the rest of her career. 😊

The group that brought the Beatles to America. They came in part to meet Ronnie. She is mentioned in so many classic songs, from Bennie and the Jets by Elton John (her last name was Bennet) to Night Moves by Bob Seger. Classy, iconic lady.

She met the Beatles in the UK while touring with the stones as their opening act. She gave them the contacts they needed in the US when they came over. She also dated John Lennon briefly.

Notably, this song was referenced by Eddie Money in 'Take Me Home Tonight. "Just like Ronnie said, 'Be My Little Baby'". In fact, if I remember correctly, the official music video for the song included B&W footage of a Ronnettes performance. But Ronnie's greatest feat was breaking free from the toxic stew that was Phil Spectre.

Well before my time but so of its time, I mean the Phil Spector "Wall of Sound", the go-go girl dancers, the Mary Quant-like outfits, the Brill Building song structure. To think how different music would be just a few years later. By the way, she grew up in Harlem and Washington Heights, across the river from but definitely not Joisey. And Fran Drescher grew up in Queens, different accent from either. I can see how the Beatles were fans as their sound is reflected in their early music.

Classic. Yes the Ronnettes is a POC trio. She was an older teen when the trio formed. Later, she was the ex-wife of Phil Spector. He abused her. Thus, a divorce happened.
In the recording, the late Glen Campbell played guitar . He and The Ronnettes played this song at The Ed Sullivan Theater on The Ed Sullivan TV Show.
Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys listened to this song. This was the inspiration for the sing Don't Worry Baby. Written by Brian Wilson and the late Roger Christian. The modern rock band Garbage sampled that song in the song Push It.
Decades later, Wilson and the late Ronnie Spector met. Great interview to see.
The drum beats on the break was sampled later in the song Take Me Home Tonight sung by the late Eddie Money and Ronnie Spector in 1986.
When Ronnie Spector passed away 3 years ago, Brian Wilson and Garbage had eulogies in their tweets.
RIP Roger Christian, Glen Campbell, Ed Sullivan, Eddie Money and Ronnie Spector.
Suggested videos : 1 Eddie Money and Ronnie Spector sing Take Me Home Tonight live on David Letterman. 2 The Beach Boys perform Don't Worry Baby. 3 Garbage performs Push It. 4 Glen Campbell and Air Supply perform Even the Nights Are Better.

I've been following your reviews since before you knew of a singer named Dimash! I've enjoyed the experience and actually learned a lot. It's been over 3 years since you reviewed Lara Fabian, remember? At the time you said it was sung very emotionally, well, try this on. Again, Lara Fabian this time singing "Je T'aime" Live in Paris 2001. What makes this performance stand out is the audience participation. The day before the show her divorce from a bad 6 year marriage was finalized. The fans arranged with the producer and pianist to allow them to sing the song to her while changing the refraine "I Love You" to "We Love You". As a performer yourself, to have thousands of fans singing We Love You at a difficult time in your life, is like a lifetime achievment award! Even if you don't have time to review for UA-cam, watch and listen for your own enjoyment. Be happy, be well.😁

This song made Brian Wilson have to pull over to the shoulder. He could not believe what he was hearing. Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound" recording method using the gifted musicians informally named The Wrecking Crew. Brian used them from then on freeing the Beach Boys from playing instruments and could focus only on singing. There is a documentary on The Wreaking Crew recording the backing tracks for this song. Search for it.
