Have you had the chance to work with any of these coatings? let us know your experience down below! Also, make sure you're subscribed to stay up to date on our latest update videos in this series.
I had the SB3 5 year applied to my car last year. Looks as fresh as the day it was applied and easy to maintain. No regrets. Even made the detailers portfolio so I knew it came out good!
Igl and gyeon…I know they ain’t the best buts it’s what I got. My goal is to work up to a cquarts finest reserve level…it’ll take time but I’m growing.
I'd love to see your thoughts and review on a coating I've been using in AUS called Revivify, really loving using it, would love to know what you think :) I know you can get in the US as well.
I noticed in the description you accidentally spelled Feynlab as Fenylab in both the timestamp and the contact info.
I’ve worked with opti coat pro and the pro plus product at a shop I was working for a few years ago! Wasn’t a big fan of pro. A lot of their big rep guys left the company as well. Imo g technique has the best coatings and products. I love applying CSL and then top it with exo.
I think this has to be one of the most detailed and info packed videos on UA-cam...
Let's go! Thanks for featuring us in this video! Turned out great! Can't wait to see the results!
You all stood out the most tbh. Just seems more product-first than slick advertising and unboxing presentation. I'm interested in the oleophobicity- how do you think that might come into play? Possibly by reducing water spots?
Just to keep things transparent .. Silla is Rated 5 Years .. as we did try to fix the error before the video got posted.. but looks like we were unsuccessful... But no worries 👍 appreciate Jason and the crew testing everything out .. enjoy 😉 can't wait for the results
My Butterfly Graphene is coming in today, can't wait to put it on my car 🔥
Thank you for the clarification. That is my fault, originally we were going to install the butterfly coating and switched to Silla. I already had the script written and changed everything but the durability length. My bad.
@@ChicagoAutoPros the durability length, cure time, and number of days before washing were all specific to butterfly FYI.
im confused that they give firball this number .I tested maybe 10 ceramic coating but firball aegis even better than all ceramics.I cant imagine if i use silla what will happen. This numbers are wrong for fireball .This product not deserve this number
Signature series detail. I have been installing coatings since 2009 when they were first allowed into the US. I have tried them all and as far as durability gloss and protection Fireball is the best hands down. It is also the highest and purest form of sio2 on the market.
This is the best video and best method of real world testing I have ever seen. The details were perfect and now will be the standard that I judge all videos of this type in the future. I am thoroughly impressed
Thanks to CAP for putting this test on and the work that went in to organizing. I wish Carpro and Kamikaze would have participated but this is still a good group.
This series is going to be awesome... thanks for taking the time to put all together!
Awesome video. I am a System X installer in Ohio. I really love the coatings and look forward to seeing how they stack up against other pro coatings.
Hot dang now we are talking!
I can't help but wonder what products might ultimately work better or worse with certain manufacturers paint schemes, but that would be a rabbit hole where the bottom couldn't be found.
This took a lot of work and you guys did an amazing job.
Been waiting for this video.
I work with Fireball in Australia.
Really back the coating and can see it doing really well in this challenge.
Hi ethan, how good a product is it? ,is it easy to use/work with etc .any other info would be useful thanks
@@garethlivesley2730 I love it mate. I find it pretty easy to work with.
Good product for the Australian conditions.
Would highly recommend it to anyone looking to start using a new product
Ethan, how does NV Nova Pro compare?
I'm with system x and absolutely love them
Excellent video. Thanks for taking the time, along with your associates. On to your follow-up videos!
You guys are top shelf in detailing, and the only ones on that shelf. So in depth and informative love you guys. Not gate keeping anything top level information with everything.
I’ve been waiting for this one! Fireball crew 💪
A good website is an absolute must! I really came to that realization recently when i went shopping for something and you would be amazed at the amount of cheap or unreliable websites are out there and should yours look professional and stand out above the rest would make your business stand out as a premium
I appreciate all the hard work u put into this very informative video. Excellent job. Can't wait to see more of this series. 🙌
I would love to see your review on that 2 month update video. Telling us your thoughts on the quality of each of them, as well as your opinion on the prices. And then finally another updated review (can be shorter if not much of your opinion has changed) maybe 6 months or longer down the line.
Awesome video! Really appreciate you guys doing all of these testing for the community!
I had no idea there were soooo many options of professional coatings out there! Also, thank you for this as the amount of labor was for sure tremendous. I will definitely like to see if indeed it increases the thickness of the paint/clearcoat/coating.
Great job explaining all those coating, excellent video
Thank you!
very interested in this video. I'm an installer for System X from Delaware and really like the product, I tried Gtechniq CSL before switching over but some professional grade companies are wont let you be within a certain distance from another shop and there a quite a few detail shops in my area. All you videos are informative and useful, I appreciate the amount of time and effort you put into this.
Damn these ceramic coating manufacturers are so controlling just like Apple lol
Well done comparison video. Clearly a ton of effort went in to doing this video...Thank you!
Definitely was a lot of work to put together, thank you!
I literally just watched this whole video about ceramic coating and it wasn’t boring good job
We appreciate that!
One more thing, Opti-Coat teaches that coating process begins even with car washing: power clean, ONR, paint prep, and Hyper Polish (primer). All of them add polymers that would help Opti-Coat Pro bond effectively to the surface. So apparently if you do not do this steps, then you can not claim warranty if something fails
Let's think about that...Power Clean(All Purpose to get the gunky stuff) then ONR wash to remove the regular dirts. Paint prep to remove EVERYTHING from the paint's surface. Leaves NOTHING behind. If anything, they would request/require using Hyper Polish with an ONR rinse...that would make sense as then the there would be polymers left behind. The rest sounds like BS.
I'm an optimum fan boy by the way, LOVE rinseless washes and Hyper Polish doesn't get nearly enough love for how easy and quick it can go around a vehicle. No taping needed. Hell, it's a go to to remove old wax/polish residue.
@@greatestNothin They do require Hyper polish before application. They include it with the kit and call it "prep polish"... but its exactly the same as hyper polish. It is even shown briefly in the video.
Great video Jason 💪 looking forward to the results over the next year
Im excited for the follow up videos!
Curious to know which of these products can be used on headlights, glass and/ or trim. Is the durability different when used on a headlight due to heat exposure etc.??
I would love to see a separate video on headlight specific coatings with pros and cons, ease of application, cure times, ect. I currently use the invision headlight restoration and protective coating system but sometimes have issues with the polymer coating.
" because they know all they sold you was a guaranteed piece of sh**"
The good ole VHS days.
😂
Just some info for the angelwax coating they also have a 3 year coating called Solaris and 1,5 year called legacy. Genesis but with graphen is called nebula. if you do two layers of either genesis, nebula or solaris it has life time warranty. You can also drag a knife and just heat the scratch away when having 2 layers.
Thank you for doing this series for us diy plebs that can't get hold on these products and have to believe the claims these companies advertise.
Wow Jason you and all the guys at CAP really outdid yourselves , what an amazing video and so much information bombs 😂it was incredible,I know not only myself but all your followers truly appreciate all your hard work and dedication to sharing your knowledge and all your testing ,You've really helped my wife and I to understand what it takes to become an accredited detailer,we plan on opening our own business next year so thank you so much😎
A quick little note we attempted to send an email to share some paint correction products we recently discovered and had good success with hopefully it made it 🤣 thanks again for everything you do and we look forward to all your future content 👍
DuraSlic xtreme are the best DIY ceramic coating period and easy to apoly just one coat and no BS. Duraciat are one company top notch been on business for years..they have the tool and research and experienced globally. Pair it with duraFlowX or duracoat as a top coat or regular sealant gives you unknown result compared to all products his been showing here and some of the top end I had tried but nothing get closer un terms of durability and slickness and I tested it during winter time here midwest. Highly recommend duraslic xtreme or just the 500 version and you won’t regret it.
Any ceramic coating which are easy to apply and has good durability is top tier coating to me.
I am looking forward to the results of this test. I have Gtechniq Ultra on my wife's Audi SQ7, and my Audi RS6 Avant (Jason, you may remember it from the Gtechniq Summit last year in Tampa).
This was extremely in depth and genuine. Very enjoyable and insightful, thanks for all your efforts.
Really wish this were a controlled test. It's so hard to gain fair judgement putting 16 different products all over a car. 5, 6 and 7 are going to take an absolute beating from road grime, whereas 12, 13 and 14 are going to hardly see anything. Going on 5 years with no toppers on XPEL Fusion, and while the bottom of the car is tired, the hydrophobics on the rear quarter panels look brand new still
This is going to be an excellent series to watch. First thank you because the amount of leg work you have put in is a lot. Thank all the suppliers who allowed the average Joe to see the inner workings of their coating. I’m very curious to see the difference between the thicker and thinner coatings. Do they prevent scratches to the paint being thicker? Do some coatings need to be sanded or polished when the inevitable high spot shows up? This is excellent material for the small shops wanting to grow need to understand who charges memberships.
Jason! Love your stuff man, just got into detailing about a year ago and just started my LLC a month ago. Looking forward to this video series showing the results! Also can’t wait to take a course up in Chicago with you guys soon! Unless you plan on coming down to Atlanta! 😂
Thanks Andrew! Can’t wait to meet you in the future.
Glad you also have Ceramic Pro on here, it gets mixed reviews from some even saying that it is cheap stuff but i am happy with mine. Great video and informative
Awesome! 👌 Can't wait for updates! 🙂 ...I'm curious about Enigma 🤔
OMG, this blew my mind 🤯. If you can ADD thickness to your clear coat, that my friend is a GAME changer. I can't wait for the results!!!!
C'mon now....
Best video I have seen every detail of what you need to know👌
Thank you so much for your hard work and very very informative video. You did all of the research for me so all I had to do was take notes and make a decision. You're the man! Instant subscribe and I'll be following the progress!! 🤘
I like this guys sincerity
If you measure a 20 micron increase I'll eat my hat ... That's nearly a Mil of ceramic! One of those at the end said 25 didn't it!!!
Also you forgot to mention ceramic pro is fireproof lol they seem to show that off a lot. If the other ones are not fireproof... Deal breaker.
Love this video and excited to see the series 🙂👍
I watched this whole video and it's amazing, but I would absolutely love some timestamps or chapters added for each coating to make it easier to refer back to in the future
Hey Jason. Looked in the back of the table you had Roar Coatings. I can be blind as well. Lol. Did they opt out of the video? Cant wait to see the results of these test.
Wondering the same.....
Hi Jason, Do you expect the results from this test to be similar if applied over PPF, or is this a completely different test? I was under the impression that the best protection for a supercar is PPF and then ceramic coating on top. If you agree, I would love a test to see what Ceramic coating is the best to be applied over PPF. Thanks in advance
Yep agreed......and no we've noticed that ceramic coatings do not last as long on PPF as it's a porous film and the hydrophobic properties get lost quicker than the claims in real world tests from our customer installations.......especially for windshield protection films that have wipers involved - we use GTECHNIQ Halo but that's because not many make ones specific for PPF
Nicely done. So much info packed here.
Feynlab is known for the self healing coatings and being the first to manufacture them. They also own one other company who makes one. Feynlab is also one of the only companies who makes their coatings in house and doesn’t re label it through a blending house like many companies. They are true innovators and I love working with their coatings. They have the thickest coating on the market with Self Heal Plus. System x doesn’t come close to 20 microns… especially with one layer. That material can’t simply just thicken over time… with Self Heal Plus you are mixing up 4 bottles into 2 separate bottles of resin. Layer 1 goes on and layer 2 is applied directly on top after it’s set up. Then a leveling aid is used to wipe clear. Heal Lite is a 5 year single layer and the sister to Heal Plus. All Feynlab coatings are car fax approved and insurance covers them to be re applied if a accident happens and a panel is refinished.
Veros wow amazing with the donation's ur setting up ur company apart from the rest with ur generosity
Amazing comparision Video, loved it Jason
Very professionally done Jason. Enjoyed it👍🏻
I haven't watched the video yet but I'm hoping R1 is one of the coatings you guys are testing. Because that's what I have lol
Tremendous work CAP the amount of work in this vid is unreal, to learn each specifically suggestions application method and the company’s info is unreal great work look forward to the updates 🧼🫡
Thank you brother!
Very interested in following where this goes. Thanks for doing these kind of tests. They matter, the let us (and you) know which are worth the money.
Great test! The videos on the coatings as I like them! 👍 👍 👍, I just wish I had seen carpro professional or even carpro finest reserve (with gliss v2 as top coat, reload or elexir for maintenance) for the competition between carpro, gyeon and gtechniq!. Yes, a video on the different families of ceramics (Sio2, Tio2, sic, graphene and the different hybrid mixtures Sio2 +Tio2. Sio2 + graphene. Sio2 + graphene + fluorine) would be excellent and super interesting, for example the hardest, the most hydrophobic, brightest, darkest and more.... I'm very interested in that. Go Jason! 😉
I'm a system x and artdeshine installer, sucks artdeshine wasn't on here
Agree. Maybe someday…
I just subbed here Dude! Awesome presentation of background info. I live in Fargo, ND.
This could quite possibly go down as the best detailing video of THE YEAR! Great work brother! I couldnt help but notice how THICK Gyeon cured at (102). Is this an indicator of superior durabilty against UV, scratch resistance, droppings, harsh chemicals, general washes, etc? I mostly use the Gtech CSL & EXO at my shop. Ive been on the fence about where to invest for accreditation for a while now. Im really feeling like Gyeon is going to be the way I go eventually. Feynlab also posted impressive numbers but the install process seemed a little overwhelming.
Ultra is by far the best ease of install to performance product in my opinion bro
Feynlab Ceramic Ultra is by far the best and most durable non-healing coating I have ever tested and used.
Been using Feynlab Ceramic V2 and love it! How would you say the install compares with V2 vs Ultra?
@@detailed330 Feynlab Ceramic Version 3 has just been released & is said to be a significant leap forward from V2 in terms of ease of use & hydrophobics.
@@stevedowsett4567 yes no doubt. I’m installing V3 on a ‘95 911 over the next few days. Looking forward to it! Ultra is my favorite by far tho!
Nicely done vid.
Very informative with great content.
I install Roar....and I'm surprised they aren't in this test
0:43 Ceramic Coating THICKER than any wax??? Now that's something new to me.
I find it funny that the training for Gloss It was the most expensive and focused mostly on marketing to maximize profit. 🧐
Thank you Jason for the insightful information.
Anyone please tell me if they had used Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coatings 53409 or Tec582?
These are consumer retail ready.
Yes,,,the TW hybrid solutions works great.
Honesty I’m no professional I just want something I can apply when I do my paint correction after compounding, polish, and finishing wax. Should I just go for the well rated ceramic coatings on Amazon because all these seem to be pretty much out my range since they only supply to detail shops ?
I am looking forward to see the out comes Jason
So which ones are the best and is there any kind of ranking it chart?
I was wondering same thing!!
Love this content, and am curious to the outcome. Non the less probably will be putting a retail available brand on my own car, since jumping through hoops or money traps just to buy something seems bad for the every day consumer, or up an coming detailer.
James, the retail coatings work great. I have used a number of them and find Gtechniq CSL + Exo works well for about 2-3 years. I also really like Artdeshine for their coatings and topper sealents (amazing slickness and gloss). IMO, a long duration coating isn't needed if you like to keep you car polished up ever 3 years or so to get microscatches out.
@@douggreen980 What about Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Spray Coatings 53409. Did great in Project Farm test.
@@Gleeleeglee Hi Gary, I haven't tried it, but certainly, there have been a lot of good reviews of the recent Turtle Wax products. I typically find that the spray-on products don't last as long as the bottle and applicator coatings, but that might be just fine for you if you like to spend time shining and protecting your ride a few times per year. Give it a try and see if it works for you!
Very informative video. Thank you.
‘This will last 10 years if you reapply every year’…. Is that a joke 😂
Great video guys, thx. Wish you had included ServFaces Coat Ultima too
WOW, what an amazing video!! Well Done!! Always amazing work and information from Chicago Auto Pros🙏👍🇺🇸 Thank you for making.
Thanks for watching!
Damn, detailing has come a long ways. I don't really follow the industry, I've just always waxed my vehicles 2-3 times a year. I would pay to have this done however if it meant no waxing for 5 years or more.
Then you should pay
I would really like to see the follow up video of this where they all can be compared.
What type Ceramic coating I can use on PPF. I have Llumar glossy PPF on my car.
Great video as always!
Thanks!
If there’s a Bob Moses ceramic installer near you. They are the top tier for ceramic. They have exclusive contracts with the highest quality ceramic makers from Japan.
No gloss measurements after?
No beading comparison?
No durability tests?
I want to see how they perform against eachother!
What a sincere and lovely video 👍👍
Coatings for sure have gloss enhancers
If the products have had there allotted curing time before going outside, then they still take upto a week etc to fully bond, will all the dust/rain etc etc not embed themselves into the bonding process??
Not really. Most coatings cure from the Air-side in, towards the paint. So, exposure makes it harder on the outside first, which should inhibit particulate accretion. The SiO2 coatings are usually bonded during the application process, with the carriers being what you need to wipe off and buff away. Once you feel that final buff cloth starting to slide ever-so-smoothly across the paint, the outer layer is already on it's way to being hard enough to resist embedding.
I was hoping to see Roar on this list. Great video anyway
I bought a 2017 camry I had Zurichshield coating applied when new there are spots every where on paint like its coming off how do I get it all off to have a new up dated coating applied . I like the detail you put into your videos...
Good stuff
SUPERB JOB TEAM!!
Thanks!
Great Video guys, wish you had included CarPro Finest Reserved too. 👌👍
Thank you! Wish we could have included them.
nice job.
my question is if I add a polishing compound , a cutting compound and a wax together stir it and use it on a car will it work as all in one step or I will still need to wax again?
Are you measuring the actual outcome of microns added after cure?
Yes, next video.
My dealer is using Cilajet with graphene. Any experience?
System x can give you up to 20 microns ?
I don’t think so
Hi, I just bought a 2023 GMC Denali Ultimate and want a professional ceramic coating done on it. I have some guys that said they are professionals but wanted to try a chemical guys ceramic coating which when I looked it up said anybody can but it and that's not what I want so can you suggest a product that is good to suggest for 2024?

How it all started
Element 119's origin began in Connecticut back in 2010 as a specialty coating R&D company specializing in the aerospace industry. Coatings were developed for the likes of Sikorsky, Bombardier, as well as predominant airlines internationally.
Clients of this caliber demanded cutting edge innovations for the unique challenges they faced, which we were sure to deliver One of these challenges was Sikorsky's requirement for an easy to clean, hand- applied coating to protect paintwork around helicopter exhaust ports. All other solutions would melt off during the first flight, leaving the paint to become fouled by the exhaust.
We were asked to create a coating that would withstand temps in excess of 1000 degrees while adding gloss and long term protection in the harshest environments. System X@ was developed for this purpose and performed well beyond expectations
Ten+ years and billions of dollars in protected vehicles later Element 119 is now represented in 50+ countries and counting We owe our success to our close relationships with System XR distribution and installation partners. We remain true to our mission, focused on delivering the best, most efficient, longest-lasting coating technology on the planet. All of our ceramic coatings are manufactured at our facility in Thomaston, CT USA to the absolute highest quality standards

Question: I have an old 69 Barracuda that I started restoring back in 2016 which is when it was painted. Very expensive, high quality 3 stage paint job. Life and finances got in the way and the car sat until the beginning of 2022. Now the car is almost complete. But my body man/restorer is recommending that I let them cut and buff the car since it’s been sitting for so long, in a garage, covers on and off. I said ok. But I want it ceramic coated when you’re done. He doesn’t recommend a ceramic coat unless we do a micro polish which is another expense. My thought is, why would it need micro polishing AFTER a cut and buff? Shouldn’t all the fine scratches be gone? As it sits now, there are no scratches in the paint anyway. Any thoughts?

Super curious on this one. I use several in the bunch but crazy to see some of these prices, especially gloss-it.
Hi, thank you for sharing information. I am about to buy RAM TRX and I was asking my dealer if they offer ceramic coating. They said they apply Simoniz Glass Coat. Have you use this product and if yes would you recommend this product? Thank you.
Awesome video !!!
Great video Jason. I am a detailer in the Dallas, TX area and am an accredited installer of the Glidecoat Pro line of ceramics and was curious if you’ve heard of them before? I have had great results but you don’t hear much about them as they are a smaller company in Florida and their products are made in Ohio. Keep up the great work! Brad
