The Downtown Canal Walk’s 3-mile loop is a popular urban respite for fitness enthusiasts and serenity-seekers alike. This Downtown waterfront is dotted with pedal boats and gondolas, bicycles, surreys, and even Segways. (The Cultural Trail manages events for the Canal.)
The Canal in downtown Indianapolis is a great place to explore and find fun things to do. There is so much to see along the path. If you head south on the canal path, you’ll run into some colorful artwork and more green spaces than you could ever really explore. Children can see the river, sculptures, buildings, museums, a community garden, waterfalls, fountains, and so much more on a short or extended walk. For free! No cost and a lot to see and do! There’s even the Colts Canal Playground to play on.
