Alternative passenger train route via SLC: create a new long-distance Amtrak route, starting at downtown Phoenix: PHX- Las Vegas - SLC -Boise - Portland -Seattle. There's existing freight lines for most of the distance, except for about 120 miles of greenway required: 40 miles from Parker, AZ to Topock, AZ, then 12 miles existing BNSF over the Colorado River to Needles, CA. Then 80 miles directly north to Boulder City, NV, then existing rails into Las Vegas. With connections at Needles to the SW Chief, at Las Vegas to Brightline West, at SLC to the Zephyr, and at Portland to the Empire Builder.

Study doesn't look into making any Greenways is why it doesn't show in the study
and than Amtrak makes both routes go by at night 😂
