I played hundreds of hours on Slay The Spire. I absolutely love the game and I most definitely recommend it to anyone who consider getting STS.
Is there an ending to the game? like a main campaign to go through, or is it just endless runs?
Well it's free on psn so think I'll give it a go
What's STS?
would you recommend the game to someone who doesent know what STS is?
@@RedFoxRoaming Bro. Slay The Spire. STS. S T S. Get it ha
I got this game like two years ago, played it a couple times and never played it again. I dunno why I think I just didn't really get it but a couple days ago I got back into it and I can't stop playing.
The concept of the game seemed kinda lame to me but I downloaded it off game pass on a whim and it’s consumed my last 2 weeks.
But does it make you feel like slaying the spire?
Yes:)
Made me feel like the mf spire
im just here trying to figure out what theyre basing fate extra record's gameplay on cuz i kept seeing lots of slay the spire comparisons
Yes
It has a little bit of something for everyone
Fantastic game, been playing it for a year and it's still great fun.
Is there an ending to the game? like a main campaign to go through, or is it just endless runs?
@@ebraheemblekaa8356 There is no campaign. It's basically endless runs. A normal run ends after you beat 3 acts, which takes around an hour. If you are looking for a challenge there are Ascension modes where the difficulty ramps up considerably, plus you can unlock an optional extra difficult 4th act to get the "true" ending.
@@worf7271 An hour? So this game can't be played in short sessions? Was hoping it would be a pick up and play sort of game.
Worf, I didn't even know Slay the Spire was available on the Holodeck.
0/5
"There's a little something for everyone"

@@warrcoww6717 lol in your opinion, it's subjective, just like all games objectively this game is closer to a 4/5 or even 5/5. Sure it's not the most popular game because I think people misjudge it before even trying to play it(as I did) but when I started playing it because I had nothing to lose(it was free) I loved it, it's much better than I initially judged it. I went from thinking like you to now disagreeing with you because I tried it out.
the joke that never gets old, even when you see it for the 10,000000000000000000th time
@@BeastMode-oz8qc it's a joke buddy
It quickly became one of my favorite games of all time. Absolutely worth getting, the base game + mods make it infinitely replayable.
Got this game on sale for the switch and my first session went on for 6 hours. This game is super addictive.
I have 180 hours in the pc version. Just bought the switch version to start playing on the go. Love this game!
2021 checking in - still one of the greatest games ever made
Yo
And now it come to mobile😁
It seems mediocre at best.
@@dickrichard626in terms of visuals absolutely. But the gameplay is absolutely top notch
The amount of times I died on floor 33 by the Bronze Automaton is embarrassing.
This steam special got me:
Dead Cells
Slay The Spire
Yakuza Like A Dragon
Celeste
Ori And The Blind Forest
Ori And The Will Of The Wisps
Phasmophobia
Skul
Sekiro
Saved 75% on a lot of games and enjoying every second of every game
im sure the story in yakuza is amazing. but unfortunately they completely changed the gameplay. how is it?
Just bought this for my Steam Deck , it’s March 2024… im hooked on this.
Hope you finished it this time
Instruction unclear.
Got killed in Gremlin Wheel event again.
@@haveiszalfaroqie1628 That can kill u lmao I didnt know
Don't lose your way
the hardest feat to accomplish in Slay the Spire is closing the game
This game is a 10/10. If you are considering buying it, buy it
Slay the Spire and Factorio are the two most essential GAMES of all time.
I just want a mobile version
Switch version confirmed.

Try Night of the Full Moon on ios or Android. Best game on mobile
@@ZomBob90 Thanks, I'm installing this game right now. Will play tonight. If you like this type of game, try "Night of the Full Moon" too.
@@philipperousseau8679 gonna check it out thanks
Who else is here because its free in April for PS Plus? What we thinking guys?🤔
Try Void Tyrant on mobile if you like this game
One of those rare games you can always discover more of but never quite solve. Still surprised after 400 hours
What are you surprised by?
@@tradeo8899the game
The Spire made me feel like Batman and then I slayed it. Truly amazing.
how did playing a card game make u feel like batman

Buying this now for the switch!! Excited !
Definitely my best buy from the Steam Summer Sale.
Can't wait for the switch port.
When's that happening?

Early 2019. Speculated consensus seems to be sometime around spring.
Elmore Evans got it, and love it
It’s on sale right now!
This game is great, however what would truly make it a hit is a multiplayer function.
Basically if MTG was made in a Risk of Rain format, this game is it. However mutliplayer would make it exponentially better.
Xbox game pass for the win!!
EGG DADDY SQUAD RISE UP
Lmao

Should I get this for the switch or pc?
It's free with PlayStation plus now and it looks interesting. Definitely giving it a go.
300 hours in between Xbox and Switch. Gonna give it a go on PS5.
After all this time, still can’t beat ascension 20 with any character, but still addicted. Defect is my main.
We are here again because it's coming to switch!!!
I've been playing a similar mobile game I found called Dungeon Tales. If offers much less content but was enough to get me hooked into looking into this one. Im absolutely interested in this now.
This happened to me with soul knight and enter the gungeon
It's 7 dollars on a Steam Summer Sale right now. Should I buy it? Is it worth the price?
it will take you about 1000 hours to beat all the classes on the ascension 20. it's amazing, difficult, and very rewarding.
If you like Arena/Dungeon Runs in Hearth Stone. You'll love this game.
Currently 40% off on the Nintendo store for Switch
It came out on mobile devices now. That’s what I was waiting for
Thank you IGN, very cool!
"This isn't your typical deck-builder like Magic: the Gathering and Hearthstone."
Those aren't deck-builders. They're CCG's (Collectable Card Games.) Deck-builders are games that have their decks built *during* the actual game. Not pre-built beforehand.
Haha imagine being so pedantic xD

Who's here because of leaked April ps plus?
I'm not

Hello ps+ gamers
I love Topple the Tower
I prefer Sanitize the Structure
How could we forget Annihilate the Architecture?
Such a great game. Solid review, Tom! 👏
Currently $7.50 on Nintendo store for Switch
quick snappy battles, perfect on the go. The cards are a nice gimmick.
Best game to come out in the last decade don't @ me
how does it compare to Eternal? i find that game has major balancing problems where you haven't got a chance in hell with common cards against people that stack lengendaries, which hardly cost anything to play when you consider how effective they are in battle.
did anyone else think that Dio's The World was in the thumbnail
this games has some references of JJBA and another works I think
Hearthstone and MtG are not "deck builders" in the mechanical sense.
absolutely brilliant game. amazing concept
Great review Tom
A really cool game just played it last night and was insta hooked for like 4 hours.
Been playing this one for way to many hours. Anyone have suggestions for games simular?
Fallout 76
Night of the full moon is decent
Monster Slayers is this game feature for feature, and even some cards are exactly the same. Except Monster Slayers came out way before this game, and people don’t seem to realise that. It’s also available on consoles.
Awesome cheers man will check it out :)
try steamworld
So basicly dominon with rougle like elements
There are 2 main issues. 1. RNG game balance. There are some enemies that are just ridiculously powerful compared to others (as soon as you see them, you know you are dead). 2. Lack of clarity. The game literally requires you to put in hundreds if not thousands of hours to learn all the unwritten details for each enemy, or have a walk through in front of you for how to defeat them all.
One of the best game of 2017, so addictive
2019
Addictive is bad, I think you mean engaging.
I can see the appeal of combining deck build and rogue dungeon, but for me, the most fun aspect of deck building is getting rare cards and building stronger deck to go against opponents with equally stronger deck. The selling point of this game is the variety each run offers, which I vastly enjoy in other types of roguelikes, but not in card games.
STS fully incorporates that feeling of getting stronger and picking up more cards, more than this review shows. Beating bosses or special enemies give rarer and more powerful cards, and as you progress through a run the randomized rewards you get to choose from are straight up better than the rewards you were allowed to pick from a few levels back. The inclusion of a leveling system also allows you to grow stronger between runs as you unlock more possible rewards to choose from everytime you hit a certain score threshold across all runs (divided by characters).
Super helpful!! Worth a deeper look fo sure it seems to me!!👍
When will this release on Switch?
June 6
One like one happy person
Please buy this game and play it. This game is the best video game ever created.
Should have been a 10, easy 10
Game is more addictive than coke ;p
Is there an ending to the game? like a main campaign to go through, or is it just endless runs?
Its three runs of different random generated dungeons with increased difficulty with a boss at the end of each.If you beat all 3 its considered a win.And then you play again. It i s NOT easy to beat the last boss though.
why slay the spire when you can slay this bussy.
this game looks cool but whats up with the lack of character animations?
also is it worth $19.99 on the nintendo switch?
It's fun and very addictive but I suggest getting the pc version. much cheaper and easier to control
@@BluriC4 i bought it last night just before the sale ended lol
and sadly i dont have a pc atm
It's a brilliant game for nintendo switch, cheap too
I still like Hearthstone's Dungeon Run more but I feel like I'm heavily in the minority. Still a fun game though for sure.
Checking it out right now. Looks like a decent and fun game
So hyped for this on game pass 🙌🏼
The gameplay feels so slow, I'm used to having fast mode on.
i'm here because of the ps plus games
Reminds me of night of the fullmoon
I can’t wait to play this on switch I went to go buy it today but I guess it’s not up yet
One of the only times I would say this looks better suited to the mobile market.....feels weird sayin it..
POV: it just got announced as free for PS plus
it really makes you feeeel like a spire
I want it on Switch for the mobility, but PC has mods.... Gah.
I thought that was ZAWARUDO
ESSENTIAL.
Thumbnail looks like [ZA WORUDO]
That's fine
Bro said “giggling” 😩😩
I finished the game using the Defect class. The class really makes the game easier. You can check the strategy on my channel. I just posted the video a while ago.
This game worth the buy ps4?
this game will be on ps plus in april..
Checking this Cause It's Free This Month 💯
Check out Void Tyrant on mobile if you like this game
Great review, thank you.
Wait, are you reviewing IGN's own game?
As if any IGN review carries any weight, but this one is a 9.0 for the lazy.
a game like cultist sim deserves that kind of score, not this
Armand Steenkamp I assume you have endless hours to spare if you spend time on a video of a company whom you don't respect.
joshice chryzanthem prefference, the game is refreshing and almost flawless
Wow ima play this
Night of the full moon anyone?
Ps plus April here we go
playing slow mode?
"don't mistake it for a deckbuilding game like hearthstone or magic the gathering" in fact those aren't deck building games. "deck building" is a very specific sub-genre of card games (and slay the spire is a deck building game, at least)
Here after playing midnight suns
Get the " slice and dice " game
Looks like ADVENTURE TIME
finally! a decent review by IGN standards!
Bc they praised a game you like? LOL
Paper Mario Sticker Star have done this
IGN: 9.0
slay the spire is not rogue like lol. it just has the conventional aesthetics of one
It IS classified as one. A roguelike.
Maybe YOU need to try re-evaluating what roguelike means.
The roguelike community is so freaking homo. They try so hard to act hard and protective over the genre but none ever played the original game Rogue.
9.0
There.
I doubt IGN even play this game.
"IGN" isnt some sort of humanoid mega corporation. It has real people working there. Tom knows what he's talking about and what he's doing. Don't blindly hate a company because everyone else does.
here for ps plus
