I watch nearly all your videos. You have such a clear and unique way of describing books and why you like them or why you don’t. This was probably my favorite video you’ve ever made. Hearing all the reasons these books are so special to you and helped you grow and develop as a reader was really cool.
I love how you did this video! Reflecting on why a book was impactful to you and how it shaped your reading tastes is really interesting, and now I want to think about my own list (except I just turned 35, so 5 more?)
The Foxhole Court changed my life too!! It taught me that it truly didn't matter how ridiculous a book or plot was (and the plot and many of the things that happen are TRULY ludicrous), if it's entertaining and has some great characters and development, I truly do not care. Happy Birthday, Chan! 🎉
Happy birthday chandler! I don't usually comment but i just have to say that getting to watch your channel is so especial, i feel like these past couple of years it has been really popular to ridicule and hate on romance books on youtube without truly giving it a chance or trying to understand the wider context of the genre, so your channel is so refreshing and your work is so necessary, thank you for giving the romance genre its flowers and respecting these books enough to talk about their complexities and nuances, it means the world to me.
"Now that I am REALLY older" Oh how I giggled at that!! You are my favorite and OG book tuber and we have so many books on this list in common!! Happy happy birthday and welcome to your 30's!! 🥳
Happy Birthday! I’ve been watching your videos since 2019 so it’s been cool to see how your taste has changed over time. The Selection series is one that changed my life as it was the book that got me into reading in the first place. It’s what led me to find booktube in the first place and what started my love for reading and writing so for that reason despite all its flaws, it will always be special to me.
"Obviously Peeta was going to win." I'm not gonna lie, when I was reading those books I literally thought he was barking up the wrong tree and had no shot
The Naming by Alison Croggan. It was the first time I had seen menstruation shown in such a positive light and man that changed everything for me. Completely rewired my brain and 20 years later I still think about it
Happy birthday Chan!! ❤ I’m relatively new to romance (and being a consistent reader). I started getting into the genre during the pandemic and I was lucky enough to come across your videos around that time too. You’ve given me so many amazing recommendations over the last few years and I just want to say I really appreciate you and your content. I hope you had an amazing birthday!
Chandler you deserve all the absolute best in the world! I have been a follower since at least 2020 and I cannot stress enough how much your content and specially your honesty and integrity has contributed to my mental health. We don’t need to strive for perfection but I hope that all your hopes and dreams come true in this new year! Happy birthday!! All fingers crossed that you manage to write your book!!
I loved this video❤ Thank you for sharing books that are meaningful to you, Chandler. I completely agree with you about People We Meet on Vacation--my favorite by Emily Henry. I also dislike Christmas romances, but I'm going to give the one you like a try along with some of the others you mentioned that I haven't read. So glad you gave Abby Jimenez a second chance.
Such an incredible video!!! I’ve been watching your channel since 2018 and read so many great books thanks to your recommendations ❤ happy 30th birthday! 🎉
i've been a long time follower and i would've guessed twilight, the cruel prince, a court of thorns and roses and punk 57 :) daughter of smoke and bone is absolutely on my list too! it was the first time i realized that ya writing could feel adult in the hands of the right author. it was also one of the craziest cliffhangers ever!
As someone who's always been obsessed with romance all my life i understand 🤩🤩 To be honest if i had to choose a book that is very special to me it's carry on by rainbow rowell. What can i say i'm a sucker for good fanfic type of writing !
two books that i think still stay with me are Tithe and All for the Game. tithe was my first intro into Holly Black and truly shaped my reading for decades (fairy focused). and then AFTG is still my soul book a decade after reading it
The first book that that stands out for me that had romantic undertones was A Ring of Endless Light by Madeline L'Engle. It's about a lot of things and some things don't hold up as well as I'd like but when it comes down to it this book talked about both teenage romantic angst and non-linear time and seeing who I am as a grown up today it makes sense why it would do it for me back then and I still look back on it fondly now. Gotta love a life changing book, or a whole list of them!
Happy Birthday🎂🎉…oh to be 30 again when this year I turned 60!!! BDB is top tier vampire romance, but my favorite is, and always be, Rhage!!! And, I think Mariana Zapata is due to write a new book…right??😁

I would absolutely love a "true enemies to lovers" video! I also haven't read many books that hit me like the cruel prince did 😭

My dear, you are not old. Your are just getting started. Time will fly!

I'd like to say that ACOMAF changed my brain chemistry in a way that needs to be studied.
I've been chasing that high ever since.

Just recently read The Foxhole Court series this year. The author just came out with another in the series - The Sunshine Court! Happy Birthday :)
punk-57 foreverrr. loved this video so much and learning how all these books left their mark on you!
Love this! I’m turning 30 in a few months and I’m definitely going to compile the 30 books that most impacted my love of reading

such a lovely concept for a video. happy birthday!
I grew up never reading unless it was required but I started loving books with The summoning by Kelley Armstrong so I love any mention 🖤

Such an incredible video!!! I’ve been watching your channel since 2018 and read so many great books thanks to your recommendations ❤ happy 30th birthday! 🎉
Happy birthday!! I loved this video. Vampire Academy has also had a profound impact on my life, especially the spinoff series Bloodlines!

I named my dog Chloe after the heroine in The Awakening. I had her for 14 years 🖤

Happy late birthday Chandler. I recently turned 24 myself 🎉😊
I really want to reread the twilight series 😂 i read it so so long ago
happy late birthday !!
You NEED to read “The Last Letter” by Rebecca Yarros, it fits so many things you love in recent romances
i’m not a fan of her romances, sadly 😭
hi chan!!:)
You’re so young
You could talk a little slower.
but i won't :)
