Somewhere in rural China, there’s a replica city that is straight out of the American Wild West - Welcome to Jackson Hole, China! With a jaw-dropping $170 million invested to recreate that classic cowboy vibe in Wyoming, I knew that I had to see this for myself. Is it really as “American” as they claim? Are people actually living there, or is it a ghost town?
To help me get to the bottom of it, I teamed up with my friend Rachel, a fellow American who’s been living in China for 8 years and speaks conversational Mandarin. Together, we’re diving into this strange town to uncover the truth - from cowboy hats to horse riding to sizzling steaks, we’re exploring just how wild (and weird) this “Western” town really is.

They just copied the style, they have the money to do it so why not? haha I was gonna comment mentioning this quote .. He said a lot with these words i think.. And it seems to be the same thing everywhere in the world, the will of the goverment is not always the same as the peoples.. Im from Iceland, we are a pretty peaceful nation per say (although we are in Nato, so we kinda support war) however we argue all the time about things our goverment does etc..And often you hear this and that about some country, but then you meet some people from those countries and usually they are just nice regular people. I think the issue might be "general media" trying to sell clicks and likes by controversy.. That's why i much rather prefer to watch youtube and channels like this one for example, Drew visist places and tries to show us real local people and hear what they have to say and how life is, without political agendas and other crap that ruins media

Unfortunately, with this lying clickbait title, you're doing the opposite. It’s a shame, because it comes across that you're lying to us out of greed for views and money.
That place is actually an impressive accomplishment. A peaceful, beautiful town with fewer people, which is exactly what many wealthy individuals seek out to escape crowded metropolises.
Additionally, the financial aspect alone is remarkable: a potential return on investment of around 500-800% in just 18 years! Homes that originally cost around $170,000 are now valued at approximately $1.4 million. How could anyone call that a failure?

Really agree with your concluding statement that "cultures can blend in unexpected ways, even across continents". And travel is indeed the best education. One thing I have admired about the East, not just China but across Asia, is their focus on the larger community and a win-win situation, whereas we in the West always brandish the notion of a zero sum game. Sigh. Was just watching Professor Mearsheimer insisting that China's rise should be "contained" and "suppressed" in order for the US to remain the sole hegemon. Such a blinkered view. In a multipolar world, the US can still remain primus inter pares or first among equals.

Obviously it's a holiday town for rich people. It's empty because that's exactly what these people want - tranquillity and exclusivity. Most home owners are unlikely to live there but just use it as a holiday destination. It's actually successful from business perspective as the homes are all sold.

I living in Beijing, why do I never heard about this town? Looks cool, but it takes 2 hours to into the city, too far, maybe that's why people don't live there

there isn't 1A in america anymore if it comes to the JUICE . There is 2A because every thug and criminal also has 2A, but you'd never see ppl exercise their 2A against the gov...so basically your 1A and 2A is useless

Gotta say man.... for someone who's visited every country, it was pretty shocking how stereotypical your views about China were throughout the video . Hope you open your mind a bit more the rest of your China trip. And the hypocrisy of saying "the Chinese understanding of US are based on stereotypes" at the end was just comical.
