    Had one join the family last year and so far it’s been great. It did a France trip in its first few weeks and hasn’t really had any major issues. Agree that vcds is a great tool to have. So far the jobs that I’ve done include, tpms disable, bonnet and boot badges, new wing mirror glass, new rear parking brake motors, new main battery to the correct AGM type, manufactured a new boot button contact, cleared drains (the spoiler ones are fun when they are blocked and water pools) Luckily the only vacuum issue so far was a damaged dipstick which was letting a lot of air in.

    Just found your channel and love your honesty about these magnificent cars.
    I currently own a 1978 RR Silver WraithIl and agree on everything you have said.
    I look forward to purchasing a Bentley and I know about being broke, but the smile will certainly last till I park in that care home.
    Best wishes, Eric from Australia

    Seen quite a few videos of Bentley cars because I am thinking of getting one. But it seems that the expensive British cars are good for the first 2 years then it break down bit by bit and goes on for years. As a Sunday driver. Don't want to get stuck on the road side. After listening to your honest opinion. I will certainly not buy one but admire all other who have the knowledge and patience to keep these lovely car on the road

      @markburley2343 Hiya Mark, thanks mate. For what it's worth I was sh1t scared about getting one but I have absolutely no regrets. By far the best car I've ever owned and since I sorted the misfires out she's just an absolute joy in every way. Key thing is to have that reserve budget in hand and breakdown cover so you can always get hone again, after that it's all just an adventure. The w12 engine is bomb proof, mostly because there really isn't enough road in the UK to thrash it. If you see one and would like me to have a look I'd be glad to. VCDS diagnostic from Ross-tech would be a very wise purchase too if you are really serious. Good luck mate :)

    hope you can help I have a flying spur 2005 when I travel about 10 miles and turn off the engine when i get out of the car there seems to he heat coming from the engine over the wheel its not hot to touch but you can feel the heat although the temperature gauge on the dash is fine

    • @BentleyOnABudget-mp8jj
      @BentleyOnABudget-mp8jj  2 місяці тому

      @coffeestop198 hi, this is actually completely normal. What's happens is that when you stop the vehicle the cooling fans engage and chill the engine down even after it's shut off. This is to avoid the rather cramped engine bay damaging components by storing heat. When I first got mine the same thing troubled me . Happy motoring :)

    I bought a one owner 2006 full Bentley history 33k on clock when it got to 35k it developed a noise like a motor running in the near side air vent turns out air pipe leaking that goes over engine £150 for pipe £ 3200 to take engine out

      @wilfeveritt3959 sorry to hear that you suffered the dreaded vacuum pipe leak Wilf. That noise was the secondary vacuum pump on overtime. I suppose there's a bright side in that it's not likely to happen again and now it's done a buyer would have more confidence in the car.

    Certainly a thought but when I retired in 2015 & took my lump sum & pension I bought my dream car a 20065 DB9. Big mistake and your spot-on with running costs so buying is half the story my Aston rapidly became a money pity, its to run these type of cars that costs. Now I drive a 2018 Skoda Karoq and am not a spannerman so Bentley ownership or indeed anything similar is another distant dream. Can I afford to buy it Yes, run it No, Enjoyed watching your videos though...cheers !

    Seriously its a vw. Just dont buy one. They are designed to literally fall apart and will cost many 1000s per year to keep running. If you want a seriously good classy car - get a Lexus LS.

      @@BentleyOnABudget-mp8jj LS430 2005 ( now with 300k kms ) and never a single fault. 8 years. And a 600hl 4 seater for 5 years. Also never a single fault. And yes a lambo is even worse than a bentley.Start with a skoda. change the badge to a vw add 20K. change the badge to an audi add another 20K. change the badge to a porsche double the price. change the badge to a bentley. double the price again. change the badge to a lambo and add more. and all more or less the same car that are full of plastic and poor engineering and designed to fall apart. vw found a niche market of gullible ""aspirational" shallow people. fun fact vw is the most indebted company in the world. Seriously you dont get into a 5 year old bentley lambo or porsche and say lets go for 1000km drive without feeling very nervous. I gave the 430 to my son for his 21st and he loves it. I did a 1500km each way trip in the 430 once a month for 12 months. 1500kms in one go except for a quick fuel stop. it like the 600 drinks 91 octane and gets 1000kms on the open road. And both such a joy to drive.
      Id probably go as far to say you would be nervous even starting an older bentley knowing at best its a 50% 50% chance of it starting. Nothing like that ever in a Lexus LS.
      Go online anywhere in the world and find me a 2010 to 2012 Lexus LS600 4 seater for sale. Betya couldnt find 1. Because owners just dont part with them. Look for any bentley and there will be 1000's if not 10s of 1000's of them with the owners desperate to unburden themselves after making a terrible mistake.
      Owning an LS is about ultra luxury and refinement and going under the radar. Not look at me look at me.
