I always like it when a new Lauren Pierce video shows up in my mailbox. I frequently recommend your videos to my bass students. Especially to my girls who sometimes feel a little outnumbered by the boys in their school bass sections!
+Seth Gamba Aw, this made me smile. Thanks Seth! I know what those girls are going through! :)
Ooh I’m happy I’m like the only girl in orchestra that plays Bass might be one more.
You did a sensational job of producing a very nice, deep, rich sound on the double bass. Thank you for uploading this music, Lauren.
I've practicing this every now and then for about a year and it's amazing to see how clear yet smooth and connected you can play this on the bass. Simply amazing!
+Brandan Scheller Thank you :)
I love this instrument
That was awesome!
Beautiful thanks Lauren
My wife just said, lovely sounding cello, don't tell me you're going to buy a cello! Just put her straight, but I think that has to be a compliment, that your sound in that range sounds so cello like, and mellow.
Bravo. Thanks for sharing.
Brava little and beautiful LOREN !!!
amazing
the best 👏👏👏👏👏👏
good stuff right here
Bravo!
Faz tempo senti falta. Muito bom! movimentos lentos são difíceis, mas belos no contrabaixo . SUCESSO!!!
nice music!
The best
I love what you do with every piece of music you plays. Always interesting and tasteful, yet full of pleasing surprises.
This isn't at cello pitch, and I like that. What is the key?
Una Genia Total.
You're like my goals...
Im curious as to what your approach is with the bow for the Bach Suites? Im currently working on the 2nd Suite and noticed your relaxed bow control. Do you simply use a faster bow with less weight? Also, Is there a particular musician that you listen to for the Suites?
+Joe Warnecke I do tend to use a faster bow with less weight, but that has a lot to do with my bass - my instrument responds best when I use a faster speed with less weight, or slower speed with more weight.
I have been obsessed with Pieter Wispelwey's Bach. I would listen to his versions!
MARAVILHOSA, queria ser tua aluna
Have you tuned it in 5ths like a cello?
It didn't seem that way tho. it is still tuned in 4th as it is clearly seen in her fingerings
I am is fã
Me: just learning double Bass.. my Orchestra teacher sent out a email saying there’s a solo contest any instrument and it’s a state contest..me: heck yeah! well let’s see what’s on the list to choose from also me: .................... this might be too hard maybe next year when I know lot more all I know is Mary had a little lamb and twinkle twinkle little star!
Beautiful.
I would like to get to that level of fluid interpretation.
I would only make some constructive criticism about the double strings attacks,
it seems that sometimes are not precises and need more stability on the bow.
But it was great.
Congratulations :)
(And sorry by the "Google translate" English, I'm Brazillian)
Who are the four morons who gave this a thumbs down? WTF ?? Lauren you rock that was terrific.
Technically marvelous.
But it’s also like watching an elephant ride a tricycle.
You’re trying to be a cellist.
Be a double bassist.
