- Recorded in April, 2021, for the MusiCLE Yours series by the musicians of The Cleveland Orchestra.
Performed on the "Haden" Vuillaume double bass, on generous short-term loan from Robertson and Son's.
So glad to have stumbled upon this brilliant, delightful playing. Bravo!
My compliments on a brilliant performance. I am pleased to see the use of a period bow. Doing so gives the sound a lightness and clarity that provides the listener a more "authentic" experience of the Baroque aesthetic. One forgets they are listening to a bass playing in the cello register. Just marvelous, music making.
omg...I've played bass for over 40 years and have never seen anyone play bass with that kind of bow being held that way. I use a German bow. Very interesting. Great, beautiful preformance. Thank you!

That is some nice tone there. When was the bass made and I imagine the bow is actual horse hair? Good performance!
