Open relationship is not just about venturing out sexually. It's about honesty as well. Being able to knowingly and openly speak about what each other wants outside of the marriage and both come to an agreement and understanding. End of the day you are coming home to me and I am coming home to you. Also that other person need to know where he or she will be in the relationship and the position and know that it's not gonna go further than that.

I had an open relationship and it's funny how you get that honesty part. Being open end in my marriage, He had who he wanted when he wanted but lied about it and his feelings instead of being honest. I low key feel like he lied because although we were open I never saw anyone else. But I really felt like because he lied he had no respect for me in our relationship so I said I am letting go. I want someone who understands me and what I need to feel valid and safe.

I think open relationships ruin a normal relationship but can save a broken one. Like if two people love each other and wanna be together but they aren’t compatible in the bedroom. That one area they can be fulfilled elsewhere but stay with their wife or husband keep the kids in one home and still get to love each other.

As a married woman of 12 years, been with my husband total of 17 years, i agree and relate to a lot of what the women were saying here as well as the divorced man on the panel. One ended because I retracted and became selfish, another ended because I moved, and the last one ended because he ghosted me...however while I was in them they were perfectly fine and when we wanted to be with each other we wouldn't do anything with anyone else, plus we had an open door policy on our communication
