    Luke, just got my Eagle Industries Yote pack today, great day pack and also works with my tactical gear plate/vest carrier for work. Thanks for the review.

    So I picked one of these up and have been using it on a couple mountain biking trips and this pack is perfect. Great size, doesn't hurt my shoulders or back after riding for long periods. Fits everything I need for long day and trail rides.

    I really love this pack, I been looking for a nice small pack just to pack a lunch and go to my favorite spot for an afternoon or a day, its about a little over a 10 mile hike, instead of lugging around one of my larger packs for barely anything packed inside, this would be perfect, i'll definitely be ordering this pack. Thanks Luke. -Jake

    Very interesting design of a bag. The beaver tail sounds like a great quick access compartment. Never seen a design like that. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks for yet another great review, Luke. I have 2 of these (and previously had 2 others) in the limited marpat run of 250 commissioned by "War Store".
    This is in my opinion, hands down, the absolute best day-pack on the market! It's durable, the pockets and compartments are configured logically, and the semi-exposed mesh beaver-tail area is ideal for quickly shedding/storing a jacket/rain gear/sweatshirt/etc. The pack is built with basically every realistic consideration factored in. It's designed for a day mission, and is therefore perfect for a day hike, bike, get home bag scenario, etc.
    One thing that I'll add is that while the back of the pack is not ideal in that it doesn't offer great airflow, Eagle does make (which can be found on the eBay surplus market) separate shoulder strap pads that are the perfect length to attach to the 2 long N/S Molle straps. They are just thick enough to provide a channel for air to pass through while the pack is on your back.
    This pack IS NOT CHEAP! The limited run marpat versions that I mentioned are now listing at upwards of $700, and are actually selling between $200-$500! The more common versions are of course much cheaper. Money always matters but I'm happy to pay for exactly what I want- and this bag is it!

    Good review and cool bag. Reminds me of a Camelback Hydration pack but with a whole lot more space. I wouldn't pay $250 but with a deal such as yours, if I needed it sure. Thanks Luke. atb Opal

    Hey Luke you should have got the Blackhawk Cyane Dynamic Pack it is the same thing with a nice mesh back and grab handle. It is available in Coyote Brown or Multicam. The Eagle Industries Yote Pack was designed primarily to be attached to body Armour.

  • @rustyshackleford17
    @rustyshackleford17 8 років тому

    Tyr makes essentially the same thing, just with a removable mesh backing.
    Either way, its a nice bag.
    When I attach it directly to my PC, its almost exclusively just for hydration. Its not comfortable to sit back on and its impossible to gain quick access too. That said, its much easier to shoot, and to me, carries the load better

    This one reminds me of the TAD Fastpack Lightspeed but Eagle took the beavertail idea a bit further, I like what they did with it with the mesh.

      Steakslim I’m pretty sure the Yote predates the Fastpack. I nc oils be wrong though.

      I’ve had my Eagle Yote for about 11 years now, and an old TAD FAST Pack for slightly longer. I wouldn’t say the Yote takes the beavertail concept further; it’s just a different execution of a similar design. The Yote’s beavertail is encompassing of the gear you place in it due to the mesh sides. The TAD FAST Pack (and PDW SHADO Pack for that matter) is more versatile in my opinion as the beavertail can be swung down and long odd-sized items (i.e.: long guns, etc.) can be placed in the interior slot of the beavertail and clipped onto the pack with the side straps. TAD FAST Packs and PDW SHADO Packs are modern day Bags of Holding! 👌🏼

    Crossfire DG-1 is effectively a clone of this pack with some slight improvements. So I suppose that would make it more of a generational improvement. Crossfire is a reputable company out of Australia that makes excellent packs, so they're GTG.

    I like the mesh 'Beaver Tail' compartment, I can see that being quite useful, last week I started a four week rock climbing course, and that mesh section would be a great place to store rock climbing shoes, especially after an ascent, so they could be secure, but be ventilated.

    I'm just seeing this review, a bit late since the last comment was 2 years old. However, for better or worse, Eagle initially marketed the yote to integrate with P. I. G. plate carriers, even making specific adapter straps/buckles for the process. How would I know... Eagle offered me a discount on a yote after a plate carrier purchase. Since the bag is low profile, it's really no different than running an attached dedicated hydration bladder sleeve. I still use it as a separate bag though.

      There is a couple sites where they have them, but they only have CT or MC and at about $240. Looks like a good pack just super expensive! But that hasn't stopped me from getting quality gear. Hahaha

    Can the sternum strap be taken off and moved up higher? Or is it sewn into the straps?

    Any chance you could do a video about the Condor Outdoors fuel hydration pack?
    Haven't seen any good videos on it and am really considering buying it for day hikes. You would have probably the video on youtube about it. Keep up the good work m8!

    Can this bag possibly be attached to a 5.11 Rush backpack using 5.11 tier system?

    • @rocktruggy03
      @rocktruggy03 4 роки тому

      Laode Al Muqarrabun it’s all MOLLE and PALS. What is the 5.11 tier system? The yote is an order of magnitude better in quality compared to anything 5.11 will ever make.

    • @panzerabwerkanone

      +Pablo del Junco Baños It can be if necessary for a civilian but in the military your vest is also your body armor. You would have to take off your body armor to get to your pack. A bad idea if you are in combat that will get you killed.
