There looks to be some sort of weird color glitches with this upload; oh well. On to the next! Just in case you are interested, the jacket that I am wearing is the 5.11 Aurora shell and my review is coming soon. - Luke
That's great that you had 5.11 and Eberlestock reply/respond to you !!! Shows that they are concerned with user/customer feedback. Keep up the great work, Brother !
Bladder port issue is a wash; I utilize a chest holster rig for my Glock. Pack is small enough to ride high and tight enough to eliminate need for waistbelt. Therefore it is tucked. I employed this pack last fall deer hunting from the ground and on the move; performed flawlessly. Love it. By the by, a HydraPak 2L bladder hangs perfectly from the loop. And I own and utilize 5 additional Eberlestock packs. None better. From N. Ga.
Whenever i consider buying a piece of outdoor gear, i always check your channel to see if you have a video on it. I really appreciate your honest and agenda free approach. Keep up the great work Luke.
Unless you have an attachable pack. Removable operator pack from Tactical Tailor works just fine with almost every big packs out there with molle webbings. I did cut off the brain of Battleship pack, modified some buckles, straps, now it works as a removable top.
Own it, it's functional. But I wish I would of bought something else. Fairly small for a day pack, and the shoulder straps suck. They are shaped and angled funny and easily rub and cut into the arms and arm pits even with a light load. It is durable as hell though.
Update on the product, I have just received my order from Eberlestock direct from their website. My coyote brown pack does not have the waist belt attached. There is a velcro backing incase you do want to attach a separate larger waist belt to it. It is sold separately for $25 from their website.
I know this is an older review, but I'm hoping someone with firsthand experience with the pack can help me. Does anyone know how packable/compressible this pack is? My intent is to have a larger pack and frame to hike everything in to camp, and have a smaller pack that is stored in the large one and used for daytime expeditions once my camp is settled.
Eagle Creek has an admin pouch that converts to a day pack. I think it’s call the “Convert pack it”? I use one in my EDC rotation and it goes into which ever pack I switch to. I use it to carry my pens, chargers, cables…etc. very clever design! ua-cam.com/video/z_VcbxhfYCU/v-deo.html
You state the width is 9" versus Eberlestock's stated dimension of a 7" width.Clarity is important as I think this pack would be perfect for my use but for my 9" wide Apple Mac Book Pro, which is a daily carry item. Can you clarify/explain the discrepancy please? Thanks and keep up your great work!
Always have my hydration opposite to my gun-shoulder. And never carry a handgun on anything else than myself. To apply a bit of adjustment to the bladderstrap, a piece of velcro could be used... Love your review about this pack !
@@TheOutdoorGearReview that would be great. I may know the one you're talking about - just hadn't considered it as a carry option. One thing I've learned the hard way is that carrying on my waist with a backpack is not a good idea!
Hello Luke, thank you for your fine review. It is a good looking pack for an all day hike. I never use a hydration bladder, so that would be an issue. Take care, be safe and have fun. 🤗
Great review . Nice that they contacted you about the waist belt , WAY to bad they didn't address the hose issue . It is a no go for me without a option for which side it comes out . Once again well done . Good job ..G
Glad they responded! And well, too! As for adjustability, a day pack for adults can translate to an overniter for youth, hence adjustability for shoulder strap growth is a must. Good job!
I've got the Eberlestock V90 Battleship and it's absurdly good. I've had it on a dozen expeditions now and like you say .. really, no mistakes. That kinda sums it up. Great review as always. :)
I know this is a year old, but WHAT COLOR IS THAT?! I''ve looked at dozens of colors, and with the jacket you're wearing, and color glitches, I just can't figure it out. Thanks!
Just found your channel, subscribed right away. I was thinking about getting this bag to attach to my body armor. Want something smaller that will hold a water bladder and some minor survival equipment. Looks like this might be it. Thanks.
NOT SO FAST! I purchased this backpack based on this review, unfortunately I did receive a defective 1st run backpack with the short waist belt straps. Waiting to see if eberlestock will make good on their promise to send the extension strap.
I’d actually prefer two buckles on the side rather than one in the middle. Just me. Might try to pick one of these up for short day, single night travel.
great job getting the company's attention !!!!! I had a somewhat similar issue with another company's pack and hopefully they will correct the problems
Im a lefty so the hydration port works well for me but i am surprised they didnt place it on the right? Strange! Their must be a reason for that cause most folks are righties.? Maybe to free up your dominant hand not sure? Awesome little pack. Kinda wish it didnt have the torso adjustment latter. Ive never been a fan of that type design. Mystery ranch futura harness is the only torso adjustment i like otherwise i prefer a fixed shoulder strap set up. Nice review luke!
Great video ... good show ... great tell !!! If the viewers want a thrill ... and a sticker price shock ... look up the authentic “real deal” Mil/Spec backpacks for actual field operators. Eberlestock makes the G4 Operators backpack that has earned it’s “rep” with Spec Ops and private contractors. Again, excellent product overview.
I am interested in hiking the Appalachian Trail. I would like to see your opinion on some of the weight saving items such as the Z-Pack Duplex. I can appreciate that their tents and their backpacks are very expensive. That being said, I would appreciate your opinions and insights. If the cost is outside your range, I totally understand.
How well do you think this pack would hold up as a day pack for hunting? I am considering using It to haul in my climbing sticks and platform specifically. If I use the bottom molle to attach the sticks and the compression strap to hold the platform, do you think that is too much weight (~15lbs) for this small of a pack?
Cheers Mate! But I would prefer it to be a bit larger as to specs of carry on aircraft luggage so that you could use it for travel as well. That’s just my opinion. All the rest which you have said is very thoughtful and needs to be considered too.
A good test,I think of any backpack/load carrying set is to fill it to a realistic weight and then go for a cross country run of no less than five miles, to see if it is tough and suits you as an individual, (ex RAMC)
What I don't get with Eberlestock is that they knew there was an issue with the waist strap and they still went ahead and put it up for sale for the price they charged!! The right thing to do would've been to offer it for less than the intended price and throw in the extension straps for free.
Can you make another video review on Battleship from Eberlestock? Just like you did on Terminator? I dont see the pack in your overnight adventures! Always thank for your great videos, Luke!
The hydration port on the left and the lack of additional attactchment points on the shoulder straps are perfect for me. For hunting and using a rifle, thats perfect for a right handed shooter.
Luke, great review, and I'm glad you did it because I have my eye on that pack. I'll wait til they fix some of the cons. I've been following your vids for a bit and it inspired me to create my own channel. I'm no pro yet but I would certainly appreciate any feedback/comments to help me improve. Looking forward to your next review.
This seems to be a great pack, would like to see them make the changes that you suggest, also on the interior of the pack i would like the inner color to be red or yellow so that items in the pack can be easier to find......
Would have been nice if they said they would add hydration ports on both sides! Personally I wouldn’t mind if the waste belt was a little wider but a fine looking pack all in all.
Seems like a great pack.. I am planning a snow camping trip and will be pulling a pulk so to have a small pack for easy to reach items seems like a great idea. And seeing that the waist band is high I can easily slip my sled harness on underneath. :-)
Luke, you’re as smooth as a Swiss watch, great review but trying to get one in the UK is as easy as trying to make the politicians accept Brexit 😎😎😎keep up the great work brother.
