At first I questioned why some schoolkids with extremely high self confidence are playing with some music instrument against a high trained millitary drill from Norway.

One emphasizes strength through diversity and maximizing the talents of individuals, the other emphasizes strength through homogeneity and maximizing group coordination and teamwork. Both are equally valid strategies for a group to organize itself along in the world.
I made the same observation, however you are of cource wrong that they are equal strategies. We are a speices completely dependant on cooperation for survival.
When Norway whooped out Hawaii 5 Oh, I knew we were done. Marines are our sharpest dressed of any branch & we looked like ......not what I expected. Great job, just not enough. Kudos Norway.

And by the the way, did you know that our fighter pilots are trained in USA and finnish top of their Classic everytime. Thats how we do it in Norway. Quality before quantity
I don't know why Norwegians were made the winners but they American team drum skills were far much more sophisticated and exciting for me in the delivery of their repertory. I think the Norwegians were just well uniformed and curvyograph.
I fully agree - the improvisation, rhythms and creativity among USA Marines far superior. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to win over the judges when Norway was so formalized? (From reading the others' comments, they seem to lean with the judges.). Perhaps, if USA had matched Norway's level of formality - and applied any informalities as unexpected surprises, they might've had more of a chance to impress?
Sorry, but those jarheads are uncovered and out of uniform...in public...on official business. Someone must pay for this sin... edit...much as I hate to say it...the Norwegians won this one. They channeled Top Secret and simply were better...I say this both as a percussionist...and a Jarhead...they won this fair and square.

They need to be trained by the Swiss and get better. The Royal Marines and Norwegian guard treat each public appearance with military pride and admiration for the honor of representing their country.
Norwegians weren't as light with the fingers as the the yanks I found but the they put more effort in techniques, more regimental, didn't dress as a homeless person and didn't act cocky. Norway by far beat them. Now put those Norwegians against the Royal Marines and that will be a real challenge
@Ryan Norway is not a winter hellhole all year, but our millitary are the best in those ereas due to our geography, we lead almost all winter training and artic training

I think the Norwegians looked better only due to the contrast between the sticks and their uniforms. The movements were much "crispier".

Kazerit HMKG practice 3 months (to memorize it all) then the tour starts, and the result of the practice is what u see here :)
