    평생 수많은 군악대의 행진곡 마치를 듣고 보고했어도 역시 최고는 미군, 특히 해병대 마치와 행진곡은 최고다. 나찌, 쏘련, 중공군같이 관절 꺾는 과장없이 자연스럼속에 감춰진 절도에 기운넘치는 행진곡들. 진정한 강국 강병의 면모다. We go together! From ROK.

      This is the Netherlands, not the USA . Most of these seniors are the children of WW II generation. Do the math. Born from 1946 to 1965. The liberation of western Europe in WW II was done by the US Army, Brit Army and their respective Air Forces. Our US Marines cemented their honor and glory in the Pacific theater of operations against the Japanese. These Dutch seniors do remember NATO and the Cold War with the USSR 1946 to 1990 fall of the Soviet Empire.

    That SSgt out front has at least 16 years of active service. When I was on active duty, you'd expect to be a GySgt by then. People should take note that not only are they playing excellent music, but much of what they played was written BY a Marine - John Philip Sousa was a SgtMaj in the United States Marine Corps. @uropepe 3 роки тому +4

      A real military band is a band with soldiers not hired musicians with only a basic military training. Like in the Legion etrangere. No fat people ( I myself am overweight but a real soldier shouldn‘t). Sad enough the British army uses hired musicians, You can see it. Marines don‘t.

    • @Locutus494
      @Locutus494 3 роки тому +6

      @@uropepe Actually, yes the USMC does. The fleet bands (of which this band is one) and the "Commandant's Own" United Stated Marine Drum and Bugle Corps are normal Marines, trained normally (boot camp and MCT), and are deployed to combat, but the "President's Own" United States Marine Band are career musicians that are "hired". When they enlist, they do not go to boot camp, instead reporting directly to the band at Marine Barracks Washington, and they start at the rank of Staff Sergeant. This is why they wear special rank insignia which have a music lyre in place of the crossed rifles.

      The Royal Marine Band members all go through the same basic training as regular Royal Marines except they do not do the Commando training. They are full time serving members of the British military and serve where ever the military is needed, and have served in such places as Iraq and Afghanistan where they serve as medics and drivers as needed. It is my understanding that the regular British military band members are also fully trained as fighting soldiers and train likewise so I don't know where "uropepe" is getting his or her information from.

    • @Locutus494
      @Locutus494 3 роки тому +2

      Oh, is that what happened? I just thought they decided to repeat the intro phrase again at the end for whatever reason, maybe made the change at the last minute, and the two trombones just forgot. I didn't know that was normal practice if the DM screwed up. It DID seem to me that drum major was inexperienced, being only a SSgt. and his rather stiff mace movements, especially cadence mace.

      @@battle_p9291 The is no "USMC field band"; this is Marine Band Quantico, and they are one of the regular fleet bands (as opposed to the Commandant's Own or President's Own).

      @@Locutus494 Thanks Locutus494. I've been out of the Corps for over 20 years, so I don't have the first hand knowledge of what changes have been made over time. I'm just a crusty old NCO. I just know what they've been called back when I was still on active duty. However, just FYI, I did a quick Google search and noticed that "field band" does appear within the 1stMarDiv and MarForPac pages on the marines .mil website in reference to their Fleet Marine Force bands. At this point, I guess they can be refer to several ways. Semper Fi!

    If anyone wonders why they where in Rotterdam, this is why. You can watch the whole show or skip to 1:46:55 to see the Quantico Marine Corps Band perform. ua-cam.com/video/G5fAjzI_O_A/v-deo.html

    Pretty soon the Marines will have to specify who and what they are always faithful to as well as the rest of the country. The choices are terrifying.
