Frank Frazetta is the artist that did a lot of the ACE/Lancer book covers for Conan, Tarzan and a bunch of other books back in the day. His art work inspired a generation!

Thanks for the info I had no idea. I wish I would have known about him and checked out some of his work. I'm looking through some of his stuff right now, amazing stuff! "The Destroyer" picture from him is epic!

When you said you don't know who Frazetta is, it hurt my heart. Easy answer, he is the reason Conan and the Conan universe look like they do. Howards Conan looked much different, Frazetta re-imagined him the way he thought he would look. Beyond that, he influenced pretty much the entire fantasy genre with is art. The rest is history.
Trust me man I wish I knew who he was. Others have also filled me in to his contributions and impact on Conan and other work. I looked into his art since the video and it’s amazing. I’m planning on getting his “The Destroyer” picture hung up in my game room at some point. Thanks for the additional info dude, and for the comment, take care.
Man, the Frazetta box is one reason I went for more than the Red Nails expansion alone. My dad got me a book of Frazetta prints when I was in middle school, many years ago. It was a transformational experience! Got into comics not long afterwards...

You're missing a lot of the hardcover books that they released in your graph. They came with extra equipment and spell cards.
Oh dang were there even others besides the ones I put down? I know there are some magazines on monoliths website with some additional scenarios. Not sure if they came with additional equipment though.
A lot of the extras on the website e.g. Khitai, have been out of stock for months. They do have the Book of Set available but it was E35 to post it to the UK i.e. E10 more than the book! The cost of the King Pledge on the new KS is amazing and well worth the money.
Tome of Skelos uses the core and conqueror maps as well as the hidden chambers.
In the last campaign the large expansions were sold for £50 each. Let's hope they are available again as I didn't have the funds at the time.
Yea the King pledge price is great, and happy to see they didn't jack up the price this time around. I would imagine they'll bring back the 3 big box expansions. They did for the last campaign as they are some of the most requested things from people wanting more Conan. Just remember to vote for them when Monolith launches the poll :)
I am about to back but I am confused by this voting/pledging talk. I never backed Conan before so I want the all in Masters level pledge. But how does the Pledge Manager work? What does it mean? Do I pledge Masters in the campaign and then somehow in the next step (PM) hope that enough people vote for the original king box (and others) that they reprint it/them? What happens to my pledge if they don't? Or have I got this completely wrong ?

Hey brotha, no need to panic lol. So everything that is available for you to back during this campaign, will also be available in the Pledge Manager. The PM will probably be open for quite some time, so no need to rush. As far as I’m aware the voting is already done, and that was just to bring back the 3 big box expansions. Enough people voted and they are now available, so you don’t need to worry about that. Again, all of the stuff you see in the campaign, will be available during the PM, don’t stress it too much homie. If you need any additional help or some advice about this campaign or crowdfunding in general just let me know.
Don't know who Frank Frazetta is? Kids these days, so uncultured! I grew up with a print of Frank's Death Dealer art on my wall next to the Iron Maiden posters. Thanks for the deep dive, thinking I might need to dive in to this.

The Death Dealer picture is so cool, hopefully you still have that thing and its hung up currently. I'm actually thinking about getting a print of "The Destroyer" and hanging that up here in the game room. Very informative video. I appreciate the thoroughness of it. I backed the Kings Pledge with the Frazetta and Red Nails box. I’m just curious . Is Thulsa Doom in one of these boxes or was it a separate expansion ?
I am wondering how much coop content will come with the King's Pledge. It's unlikely that I will be playing 1 vs many, but I may play solo and will definitely play coop. Now the King's Pledge has solo/coop scenarios as a stretch goal, but do you need the Red Nails or something else that gives the actual rules for solo and coop?
From what it looks like, all of the core box scenarios will be able to be played solo/coop. At least that's what it seems like looking at the stretch goal. However you brought up a good point about the rules. It didn't occur to me that even though you had the scenarios, that doesn't mean you'd have the rules. So yes, you will need to pick up the Red Nails also which will have the rules. The 2 other places to get the rules would be from the Tome of Skelos or The Monolith Sourcebook.
Thank you so much for this great overview! To test the game system I recently got a second hand retail core box. It has a lot less content than the KS core shown in the current campaign:
- only 4 heroes
- 74 minis in total (the KS Core has 115)
That was what I could catch on the fly :D ...
Love that this system allows for single shot scenarios. Played too many long campaigns (Gloomhaven/Frosthaven, Oathsworn aso) and quite some further in the pipe (Etherfields, new Tainted Grail, Agemonia ...).
So I am starting to enjoy one shots much more to keep things fresh ^^
Favourite Mix&Match is Cthulhu Death May Die ... hope this can be played in a similar fashion with the new randomizing system :)
Would be great if we got the Khitai box (like the style) and also would want the older Solo/Coop content ^^ It would be a lot better than having to hunt down expansions on the secondary market. Keeping fingers crossed ^^
Just checked: The Monolith Source book seems still to be widely available, sadly the tiles are oop.
You got it man, hopefully it helped a bit. That is quite a bit less content than I remembered, good to know. Agreed on the one shots, much more simple to get played in my opinion as you don't have to remember where you left off, who gets what items, what you were doing in the story, etc. I would imagine they are going to offer the Khitai and other big box expansions. Usually those are the most requested items from people, just be sure to vote for it in the poll they put out soon. Yea its a shame about the tiles because that campaign that used the tiles is great.

Which box has the boards with the ship?
There are two ship maps. One is included in the base game box, and another is included in the Tales of the Red Brotherhood expansion.
Retail box has 74 minis as opposed to 115 in King core box.

@BrewsandBoardgames no mummies or skeleton warriors in the retail box, although you get the tiles for them.

lol yes bro this has already been pointed out many times already. I wish I did, read a bunch of Conan stories but never looked into the artwork. I surely know who he is now though

Sure thing man. Best bet from the current stuff available, would be to grab the king pledge and at least red nails. That way you have the solo rules and a bunch of solo scenarios. The next stretch goal is going to make every scenario from the king pledge, playable as solo/coop. That is a lot of scenarios. And there are even fan made ones you can find online.

@@ReadingAde Some of the stretch goals were converting existing scenarios to be played as solo/coop. If you get Red Nails you’ll need the kings pledge as well. In my opinion that is the best way to get into solo Conan right now. That will give you so many scenarios and 4 double sided boards, so 8 maps, and so many minis and characters to use. Conqueror box is definitely not a must have.
Between this and their Batman game, great stuff
