- I have a Milwaukee M18 Fuel Brushless Impact wrench model number 2763-20 that has a problem. Nothing happens when I press the trigger and the LED light blinks 6 times. I don't know what the problem is and so I opened it up to investigate. In this video, I'm just going to show you what's inside this impact. It is still under warranty so I'll send it back to Milwaukee for repair. I'm not going to attempt to repair it. I will also show you different versions of this impact wrench as a comparison.
Update: I sent the tool back to Milwaukee for repair and this was what happened. Check this out:
• Did they actually repa...
The fact that Milwaukee addressed this trigger control issue is the reason why I buy their products. They don't just put a product on the shelf and forget about it, they constantly listen to their consumer base to see what they can do better. Also, the reason why this is packed to the gills with electronics is for a few reasons, firstly to reducpe likelihood of tool damage while being misused by the operator, secondly for the brushless motor needing to know the position of the rotor so it can pulse the electromagnets at the proper time.
Man, I thought you were going to fix the problem lol
This video was so interesting, I like the way you analyzed the product so well. Thanks for sharing.
Had to send mine in for service for a similar issue, had my tool back in 4 days. Excellent customer service.
Definitely a design flaw for this model. Did they repair it or did they send you a totally different new one? The model numbers on the label are the same but they are totally different inside.
They repaired the one I sent them.
Sorry you got a dud right out of the box. Sadly that happens time to time from every manufacture. I've had the Milwalkee 2763 for a couple years, it's been dropped many times, left out in the rain, fell in some deep snow and it still works great.
*Excelente kit **MyBest.Tools** suficiente mente potente y ligero. la luz incorporada en el taladro es muy superior a versiones anteriores que se encuentra cerca del broquero.*
I think the latest 2017/2018 drills are good....but 2015/16 fuel range had problems....mine and at least 5 other tradies i knew had problems with impact driver.?
I soldered in a 3/4 gun trigger assembly into a 1/2 impact gun exactly like the one in the video , I'm a heavy diesel mechanic Aprentice not a sparky by any means , but interested in everything , the boxes both fit , same amount of wires and same color insulated wire sleeves , so matched them all up soldered away , and it came up with the 6 flashing lights like in this video , was hoping for some insight
Very informative
Thank you
When you showed the back of the tool I saw that the housing screws had been loosened up. When this is done then the motor rotor is no longer in line and so the motor is locked up - the rotor can not spin.
Question for Milwaukee specialists:
I have a Milwaukee M18 FMTIW2F12 that has an interesting bug. When I press the switch, the machine spins and diode number 3 (third gear) lights up for a long time. Only when the diode turns off is it possible to change the direction of rotation and start again. In addition, the maximum speed (diode number 3) cannot be changed. In order for it to work at all and not to wait for diode number 3 to go out, I remove and put back the battery. That means to change the wheels on a car that has 5 screws, I have to remove and put back the battery 10 times. Once I press the switch, I must not stop until the job is done, otherwise there will be a long pause or re-inserting and removing the battery.
Impact wrench M18 FMTIW2F12 with 881 Nm loosening torque and 745 Nm torque Extremely compact design with a length of only 152 mm. Which I found in the trash (500 $) that I want to fix...
.................
Eureka! I repaired my impact wrench today. The error was in the brown main switch. To make it even more fun, I found the machine and the spare part in the trash. Maybe my experience will help someone who has similar problems?
Greetings from Switzerland
Any follow up, how was your problem resolved? Hopefully it has been in your favor, good luck.
This is an alien reporting to his masters
Is their a way to tighten the connector when putting the battery mine is loose
I have a BOSCH GDS 18 E and its amazing, very very powerful. Not cordless but it does not need to be really.
Hi sir I live in VN i have 1 hammer drill MIlwaukee M18 2702 after 2 weeks to work it is smoke and death, when i press the trigger button and the LEDs are good but it is dont work i was check soldered it is good, please hepl me, because it is expensive. How to Fix it is work again
I buy on ebay, i cant go to usa take it back under warrenty
If the LEDs are on but motor doesn't run then it's probably dead. It has complicated motor controller board and if that's fried, the drill is useless. There's usually another board underneath at the base. You don't see it because it is submerged inside a black silicone resin. Check on that one. At least the M18 2763 has one board like that at the base.
Why would you take it apart. It has a 5 year warranty......and I'll bet wherever you bought it would take it back within 30 days. Weird......
I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning/exchanging. Plus, curiosity got the best of me.
Get the Kobalt 24v brushless version instead...doesn't have as many bells and whistles, but the warranty's better and the quality is comparable (or better, given this video!)
I was thinking about that since I already have other 24V tools.
vuaeco I own the entire platform. It's the only one I haven't really put through its paces yet but the build quality is excellent. It's a single-speed but it's well-designed.
I want to start Milwaukee makes bad-ass tools I would be grateful if they had my tool back in 2 weeks not caring how they fix it . I've had One tool replaced by them And they did a spot on job And if you're worried about it going out of warranty after 5 years They probably did not want you as a customer anyways Sometimes stuff breaks and you get new stuff that's better that's how these tools work
The defective one's inside looks very much like Ridgid Gen5X brushless drill.
That has the same motor design, and fwd/rev switch was also triggered by separate switch on the small board. And... that failed in an year. (Was not mine, though)
Recent brushless motors are, unlike brushed motors, everything comes as a package. You cannot just replace the motor. You have to buy the entire inside circuitry.
That makes your own repair a lot harder...
The reason for the electronics. The motor is a [stepper] motor
but we love it :)
5 yr warranty
No they just found cheaper part
Mine flashing 3x.
... Anyone help please?
do you solved your Problem, my too
@@cla1grissb547 no fix yet. Stil looking for remedy
Any luck on fix? Mine just stopped running and flash 3x
Hey guys.
I had a friend take my drill apart.
He noticed a lot of Dust build up inside.
He Cleaned it up, plugged a battery in , then it went.
Man I'm so happy I did not have to buy another.
Give it a go guys - you have nothing to lose
@@pma7158 will try that after work. Thanks for reply
The problem is Chinesium components 🖖
