We decided to do an acoustic week and next up is a band we haven't had on the channel before, Poets of the Fall!

Yes! More Poets! They are so severely underrated as a band. You cannot go wrong with anything they’ve done.
It is not underestimated, it is known in all corners of the world, we know, because in other videos people of other languages and races send messages commenting on how much they admire this fantastic band.
If you are referring to awards in the US, it is not important. They are a great band and their music is liked all over the world.

They also provide the music of the fictional band The Old Gods of Asgard in several Remedy games, including Alan Wake and Comtrol.
What made these sessions possible was COVID-19. This kind of classic venue with good acoustics and in the middle of Helsinki would be way too expensive on normal times, but because of the pandemic it was not and we got to enjoy the excellent acoustics of the hall this way.
One of those times you don't need effects, you just mic the whole room.

Carnival of rust (both music video and live version is amazing), Lift, Late Goodbye, War, False Kings, My dark Disquite, Sleep, Moonlight Kiss, When do We Draw The Line, Skin. Also all of the Alexander theatre versions of the song are amazing so thats too ^^ Im a big fan of those guys
Control (the video game by Remedy) featured 'Poets of the Fall' as the band 'Old Gods of Asgard' with a heavier song called 'Take Control' during the Ashtray Maze level.
The 'Ashtray Maze' game level on its own is superb, with the 'Take Control' song by 'Poets of the Fall' taking it to the next level (pun intended).
Alan Wake also.
The variant of the song in the game is dynamically adjusted to match the speed the player advances through the maze. If you advance really slowly, the song will have parts that repeat, if you play really fast, you might miss part of the guitar solo.

They made accoustic album of their songs in this AT-Sessions. Some songs/episodes include more instruments like violins, guitar and more. Worth to check the original songs and this live session in whole. Just bought the album myself.

I would give this request a hundred 👍's if I could, to get you to play this live version of Carnival of Rust (live in Moscow). Everyone wants reactors to listen to the official music video, which is very artistic and good, but I feel the video takes away from Marko's awesome voice and he adds some great ornamentation to his voice in this live version!!

i remember when that max payne song coming first time finish radio,i think they come usa. awesome band who make game music and many songs who sounds like james bond music. every singer in finland who name is marko is somehow awesome :) thanx to great reaction and have wonderful day.
Thanks for showcasing my favorite band! The piano is, I believe, a C7 model concert grand (based on my piano tuning knowledge). Make sure you watch the other Alexander Theatre Sessions. The band has a tremendous range and diversity of styles which they perform flawlessly, in my opinion. Don't neglect their music videos based on their studio albums. People typically begin with their "Carnival of Rust" music video which has won awards which will become obvious once you've seen it. Each band member is an excellent musician. Olli's guitar solos are out of this world, and Marko's falsetto work is extraordinary.

Poets of the Fall - "LIFT" with Lyrics. (It's live in Moscow) Full band up-tempo pop rock song. Not as serious as most of their songs. Quite a good live band. Nice crowd involvement.

First time I’ve heard these guys. Great voice and great lyrics. Do they always do piano only instrumentation? I’d love it if they’d jumped into a hard rock arrangement about halfway through with an emotional heavy blues guitar solo, but that’s me. 🤷🏻♂️Be pretty sick though 😂. Overall it’s still a beautiful tune done well. 🤘🏼🎹🎼🎤😀✌🏼🔥
It's only several songs during these sessions, their range is diverse, but not too heavy. Melodies and lyrics are beautiful, though, I definetely recommend to listen to their misic :)
They usually do rock (electric guitars, occasionally with acoustic guitars + drums, bass & synth). They've made acoustic versions of some of their songs which are just amazing (I prefer the acoustic versions tbh but I'm a classical fan as well as a rock fan 😂).
Don't forget The Alan Wake soundtrack(Old Gods Of Asgard) -they are an amazing band that cover so many types of styles. One of my all time favorite bands ever.
Great reaction. The theatre is named after Alexander II. It was built for the Russians living in Helsinki and it opened in 1880 during the time when Finland was an autonomous part of Russian Empire. Good thing about Finnish music scene is, that there's not really genre barriers as such. Good music is good music, good people mingle and people do what they enjoy. Like in this one, on which Tuomas Holopainen made a soundtrack for Scrooge's graphic novel: "TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN - A Lifetime of Adventure (OFFICIAL VIDEO)". It's fun to read an interview, in which Holopainen tells about a joyful trip to Disney World he made with Alexi Laiho. Both being Disney and theme park fans. Here's a kind of a Live Aid type of 20th anniversary good vibe song (in Finnish) for a Finnish metal festival illustrating how people come together: "Tuska20 - The Anniversary Song". And then there's this for the children of all ages: "Hevisaurus - 100". Naturally every year, if possible, Metal musicians go on a "Raskasta Joulua" (Heavy Christmas) Christmas tour: "Raskasta Joulua - Tulkoon joulu". Kind of who's who songs. I don't know, if you've already come across this one, but it crosses the genre lines: "Thunderstruck by Steve'n'Seagulls (LIVE)".

14:27 Check them out as Old Guards of Asgard and hear how they can shred as well!! 💜🫶🏻🤟🏻 I found them on internet radio in 2006 and was told their genre was folk metal! 🤣 These guys can do it all! You need to check out some other Alexander Sessions too.
They also made music to the game Alan Wake. Alan Wake II coming on Septemper.
And Control 2 is in preproduction and highly probably will contain their music, too. If I could decide, the whole game would have music similar to "Take Control" in the first Control game.

Many of their songs that I love have already been requested, but my favorite guilty pleasure is their live studio cover of the song "You Know My Name". Its the theme song from the James Bond movie "Casino Royale". They really seem to enjoy playing it and look great in their James Bond style tux's!! THe origina is more 80s electronic vibe this Theatre one is more for the soul than that but the normal one is superb too!
The music Jealous God of this sessions...or any of the others...they are all good :). Or Hello Cabaret from the last album.
Children of the Sun is a great choice for a more upbeat song of theirs, at least in the acoustic versions. Rebirth is also fantastic.

Poets of the Fall is IMO grossly underrated because their (non-acoustic) music style would be right at home on radios of most of the Western world, but is a bit too non-metal for Finland.
