Alien Weaponry is a New Zealand thrash metal band from Waipu, formed in Auckland in 2010. The band consists of drummer Henry de Jong, guitarist Lewis de Jong and, since August 2020, bass player Tūranga Morgan-Edmonds. All three members have Māori ancestry and a number of their songs are written and performed in the Māori language.
I got both of these bands of my world tour folk metal band list XD
@@PeoplecallmeLucifer You and I both! I also have Nine Treasures and Bloodywood on mine...
@@BaronUmberslade here's my full list if you're interested
Diablo Huma- Equador
Hiddenland- Equador
Cemican- Mexico
MiracleOfSound-Ireland (look up his songs Sirona, Grainn Mahoil and Tale of Cu Chullain)
Alestorm- Scotland (it's pirate metal but some people count it?)
Tyr- Faroe Islands
Percival- Poalnd/ Pan slavic
Arkona-Russia
Rune-Serbia
Mägo de Oz-Spain
Po' Metra Crijeva- Croatia (the band name means half a meter of guts)
Manntra-Croatia
Brkovi- Croatia (more of a punk band but look up their song "Ovce" a MAGICAL blend of rap, metal a, punk and folk influences)
Metaklapa- Croatia (This one is weird ... they do covers of metal songs in traditional Dalmatian singing style .. for example they did Aces high)
Dubioza Kolektiv- Bosnia & Hertzegovina (DO NOTE! This band is called a band with no genre for a reason! they varry from Regge R&B To Folk-Metal-Punk ... compare their "Space song" and "No escape from Balkans")
Arka'n Asrafokor- TOGO
(also worth of note is Skinflint from Botswana but they don't ussualy have much folk elements)
Al-Namrood- Saudi Arabia (They played metal when it was punishable by death... IT DON'T GET MORE HARDCORE THAN THAT!)
Hassak- Kazakhstan (it's an ethno band but listen to their song Amanat and tell me it don't belong on a metal concert)
The Hu- Mongolia
Wagakki band- Japan
Nini music- Taiwan
BLOODYWOOD- India
Alien weaponry- New Zealand
Shepherds Reign- New Zealand/Samoa
@@PeoplecallmeLucifer that's amazing! You just gave me a whole bunch of fresh music for work! Thank you so much!
@@BaronUmberslade quick update. I added Dream spirit to the list (they are from China)
What if this band and the hu went on tour one badass show love this very cool love hanging with ya and talking metal keep up good work and love your feedback
The Hu would fit better with someone like Hassak, Tengger cavalry or maybe Percival Schattenbach
hese dude would, judging by their sound, be a good tourmates for alien Weaponry or Bloodywood
I got a whole world spanning list of folk metal bands if you're interested BTW
@@PeoplecallmeLucifer I was thinking about the culture but if skid row can tour with Pantera your right
Shepherds Reign supported The Hu on their New Zealand tour.
THIS BAND IS FROM SAMOA, THIS IS SAMOAN METAL BAND
No, this band is from south auckland, new zealand. they may be of samoan decent but they live and play in auckland.
@@cycochris07 No bruh they are samoans
@@Heihachi8 yes they are Samoans lol. But they don't live in Samoa. They are based in Auckland, NZ. That's where they live and play.
@@cycochris07 Yeah they live and play in New Zealand like many samoan do. But they are an Samoan Band.
Nice reaction and I'm glad you guys enjoyed this one! Around the time they filmed this video they had recently added a permanent bassist. Before that they had different bassist perform with them at live performances. If you want to hear a song with some more bass try their song Concrete Walls! It's in English and has a pretty cool bass part! The singer used to be a prison guard and wrote the song from the perspective of an inmate.. Enjoy 🤘😊🤘

What the lead singer is holding is a Samoan War Knife

EDIT: added a few other bands
As a fan of folk/foreign metal, I’ll be checking these out🤌 thank you!
You should also add Drygva- Belarusian metal band😉
@@traceurs619 will check them out
@@traceurs619 checked it out. loved it!
@@PeoplecallmeLucifer They have some great songs… just don’t ask me how to pronounce any of it🤷♂️🤣
'Kia kaha' means stays strong in Māori!!! Similar to us Samoan's saying 'malo pe faamalosi'
I haven't heard of them before, I think its time I checked them out. Thank you. The band looks like they are more Polynesian (I recognise some Samoan elements and words), the backdrop looks New Zealand. It is a war club in his hand, used in both war and dance in the Polynesian culture (I am no expert or even a rank armature). If it was Samoan then the club would be a nifa otti, If it is a Maori club it is a patu.
it is dedicated to those lost in the measles epidemic in Samoa not so long ago.
“Ala Mai” is pretty impressive too.
They remind me of Alien weaponry.
both use Polynesian influence
Alien weaponry is Māori and Shepherds reign is Samoan 🙏

Call to men to be MEN of WARRIORS,STRONG,BRAVE,FIGHTERS,LEADERS,PROTECTORS OF THE INNOCENT.
Reaction to the latest song Hollow from Burgerkill which is dedicated to the late guitarist Eben... you will be carried away by the music and lyrics of the song
He is holding a Maori weapon
Samoan war axe
Its a samoan war axe
