My sister worked at MGM in Las Vegas as a cashier for room service. She could hear Tom Jones sing but of course never be able to see him. One night after a really long shift, my sister was walking slowly towards the service elevators, and Tom was walking the other way. He stopped and turned around, offered her his arm and then walked her all the way to the elevator. He was so polite and such a gentleman, asked her how she was and if she enjoyed the show, small talk, wished her well, and waved as the doors closed….he didnt have to do that, but he did, and how decent and kind was that? She has seen many many famous people, but never anyone as nice and thoughtful as Tom Jones….tip of a hat to you, sir

Whenever I see the name Tom Jones I'm reminded of my golf instructor in the 1970s. He took his wife (or girlfriend) to see Tom Jones, expecting to see the singer of course. Turns out it was a play of the book Tom Jones written a few hundred years ago :). That's why he was a golf teacher and not a brain surgeon.
I saw Tom Jones in concert a few times in the 1980's and 90's and he can outsing and outperform all of the famous younger performers with all of their backup dancers and special effects! Sexy and what a great stage presence! A true legend.
