I have lived in several states and vacationed in almost all 50 states. Kansas is one of the most boring places on the planet to live.
Every time I ask someone what is so good about Kansas City, they tell me about Union Station. There is nothing to do in union station. It’s a building that has exhibits once in awhile and a restaurant. That’s it. The winters here are so mild and there are more sunny days than cloudy. How do I know this? Because I keep track of them being allergic to the sun. The pros of living here are the people. They are super friendly, nice, helpful and mostly honest. That is why I have been here for many years.
In order to fit into the Colorado lifestyle… you have to wear Birkenstock sandals, own a mountain bike and have a dog. If you wear anything different than bicycle type clothing, they will stare you down. Let’s not forget that you cannot use your wood burning stove on the coldest days or collect rain water (some years) due to all their numerous regulations.

I generally agree with you but you have no idea how boring things can get! Kansas City is like New York compared to some places. Try living in the middle of nowhere.

As one who lived mostly in Kansas City area from 1949 to 1973, I was surprised there are still livable neighborhoods in the older parts of Kansas City, Missouri because much of the city's older area has become a ghetto.

I live in Johnson County, but I grew up on the Missouri side of the metro. I recently visited Arizona and it is much prettier there, I must say. As for my neighbors, I can’t even tell you what they look like.
You forgot to mention one EXTREMELY IMPORTANT point: Johnson County is also one of the WEALTHIEST counties in the country. That’s why it’s super expensive here, even if you’re renting.

I’m flipped. Grew up in JOCO and now live in MO. There’s a reason for that. I’ve never been to AZ, but lived in CO for almost 10 years. I appreciate the beauty of both places more now that I lived somewhere else for that long.
Yeah, I’ve touched on cost of living in JOCO in other videos. This video was more geared towards KC, not the suburbs.

What are homeowners insurance, and car insurance costs like? Also, any other insurances worth buying so that one is prepared for all contingencies?

I recommend Mexican Americans to move to the Kansas City area. 30% of the KC metro is Mexican American. It’s affordable.
Recomiendo a los Mexicoamericanos que se muden al área de Kansas City. El 30% del metro de KC es Mexicano-estadounidense. es asequible.
