Warning...... this material is cerebral, expressive, and damn generously offered. thanks carlo. this is some ultimate material to learn how to play through changes, connect arpeggios and the like. great job, and oh yeah.... excellent taste
I'm just learning music theory on my own, so I may be way off here! But since this goes from C (I) to Gm -> C7 -> Fmaj7, isn't that basically a secondary ii-V ? As in the Gm->C7 is a ii->V secondary to the Fmaj7 it resolves to. I think it makes more sense to think of it that way, as Gm7 and C7 have the Bb in there, which isn't diatonic to C major, but it is diatonic to F major.
It could be called 6-(5-1-4) -7-3-...back to 6. where 5-1-4 is a major 2-5-1 for F and 7-3-6 is a minor 2-5-1 for A You can practice major 2-5-1 and minor 2-5-1 in the same loop, very cool. ;o)
i think this is the chords to Sunny. Sing it not a 2 5 1 in Am but its nice. yes, if you chuck in a g for 2 beats and then c it is sunny would be a Bmb7 too
seems more like Sunny or If You Want Me To Stay. Doing straight minor 2-5-1 doesn't seem to do it justice. Gotta invoke Sly and the Family Stone xD I can't help it on the bassline but to quote the rhythm of that tune
hey man! There are two 2-5-1. the first chord is the Key = Amin, and after the progressions: 1) Gmin-C7-Fmaj7 ....resolve in the root of F 2) Bm-E7-Amin .....repeat again
Bm7b5 has B-D-F-A notes and Am has A-C-E notes, all of which are in the Key of Am. E7 has E-G#-B-D notes, so G# is the outside note, but of course such outside notes are very common in blues and jazz.
Very cool jam to practice with the rhythm here is choppy love it.
this is playful and flavorful keep up the inspired work!
This is a very well put together jam, i'm impressed..... has the best "smooth feel" to it.....thank you....

Warning...... this material is cerebral, expressive, and damn generously offered.
thanks carlo. this is some ultimate material to learn how to play through changes, connect arpeggios and the like.
great job, and oh yeah.... excellent taste
This is more i-vii-III-VI-ii-V than 2-5-1 but never mind, it's very funky. Well done, I'm going to use that idea. Thanks a lot!!

This could be called 6-2-5-1, with the (Gm, C7, Fmaj7) functioning as the 6.
It could be called 6-(5-1-4) -7-3-...back to 6.
where 5-1-4 is a major 2-5-1 for F
and 7-3-6 is a minor 2-5-1 for A

;o)
there are actually 2x[2 5 1]s here. it starts in Am, then changes to a 2 5 1 in Fmajor, then goes back to 2 5 1 in Am

would be a Bmb7 too

Kevin Thennedy key a minor from trumpet bob
Am7 Gm7 C7 Fmaj7 Bm7b5 E7

How do you make a B minor 4 chord on guitar?
This isn't 2-5-1, in Amin that would be Bm, E, Am.... this sounds like Am, C, F, Bm, E7
hey man! There are two 2-5-1.
the first chord is the Key = Amin,
and after the progressions:
1) Gmin-C7-Fmaj7 ....resolve in the root of F
2) Bm-E7-Amin .....repeat again
,
Nice groove, thanks! Btw, 2-5-1 in the key of Am would be a Bdim-Em-Am.
BA Gorimus B-7b5, E7, Am
