      Fun fact: greatest trade offer and trade ever is the purchase of Alaska in 1867 by USA from Russian Empire for $7.2 million(equivalent to $129 million in 2023).
      That's Alaska's weekly turnover. And USA has been benefitting from it since then.

    Ahoy, Captain
    I really liked this upload, specifically because I liked you talking about nuances and details that help push the 4.9k player closer to 5.9k. I think you have a lot of knowledge from really studying minute details of replays, and hearing distinctions between Rax timings depending on going gas first or Rax first was really cool.
    You shiver me timbers every day, Cap'n.

Maybe a bit more with practice--the first time, it throws you off your build having this guy yammering at you. 1000 MMR...it's a big ask. I'll say, it was a lot more fun than I thought it would be!

    what this shows imo is a) as spectator, this is an interesting format (2 player teams use 1 computer i.e. not archon mode) and b) there's a ton of room for a player and their partner to develop familiarity with each other's vocabulary, preferences, etc. A good player with a good coach could maybe pull ahead of a better player with a bad one. i'd watch

    This is super. I hope you do more of it. Just so educational in so many different ways. --For the goal of helping someone score a 1000 MMR upset, though, I'd think your chances would be better with a somewhat weaker player. You want someone with enough technical skills to do what you ask but poor strategic judgment and game sense. I'd say 2.7K MMR trying to beat 3.7K might be your sweet spot.

  • @memph1ston
    @memph1ston 17 днів тому

    honestly a "head coaching" mode in SC2 where you get a literal coach with limited vision (can't see the other person's minerals / supply) could be an interesting format. I'm thinking of a rally driver / copilot scenario & thanks to @jjbasson for sparking this idea :)

      Play one race, learn one build that can be played against all races, practice until you can hit timings reliably. That will get you to plat. Then practice a tight build for each matchup and that should get you to diamond. Then you will need more specialized skills and knowledge, but in practicing a tight build order, and having less variability in each game because you are doing the same thing, you will already have developed a lot of skills needed for more advanced play

    I don't understand this trend.
    2 base Terran always goes for units, attack, damage - most games the damage is game winning.
    2 base Protoss always goes for 3rd even though he's standing on 2 gate - Robo/Stargate.
    Like why? Why the Protoss goes for 3rd with absolutely no production?
    Just asking...

      It actually makes no sense to have production and then have to skip a production cycle to get a third when you could just keep up your production cycles and get a third. You're only hurting yourself with your suggestion.

    A bit too much flaming gemini in between the coaching i believe…. Harstem does not really has the patience. Still a lot of good tips for the viewers!
