My simple take regarding her "Satanic" voice: If you were a selfless fish (Pisces) who wanted to see the world but was a bit skittish, and then got into the nets and was hooked by handsome butchers who proceed to rip away your scales and entrails (emeralds)... you'd growl too! So you see, sometimes the lyrics call for extreme vocals in a song. Tatiana (who's not singing as someone possessed, so you can toss the garlic back into the spaghetti sauce) wrote an incredible story and sang about it the way it deserved to be sung... as with most of her songs. Some vocalist just keep singing in their nice and charming voice even when the lyrics call out desperation. Not so with Tati. Her extreme expression - a rare ability - adds so much more to a song... especially if you follow the music with the lyrics and how the beautiful cacophony tells the story. Thx, Ashlena!
Beautiful description. That's exactly how I feel about Tatiana. She is a vocal chameleon who brings a vast range of expressive capabilities to the table--but all in the service of the song. She's like Picasso or Monet with a palette of colors and a dizzying array of textures. The harshness is perfectly employed at just the right times. And once you acclimate your ears to extreme vocals, you can understand every word of what she's screaming. All of the players in this band are at that level of expressiveness. But the gestalt is even greater than the sum of the parts. The tightness and precision--repeatably, night after night after night--are classical virtuoso level. And they're windmill headbanging!!

Tati, is a beast. She is able to do that growl because she has absolute control over her false vocal cord (or folds). If you notice she is not straining on the grow, no veins popping. This means she can do the growl without hurting that beautiful singing voice.

Wait until you do more Jinjer. They are touring the US. You might want to see them live after a few more songs but, you could do one a week, hear just as deep and good songs, never hear the same thing twice, and have months of content. They are this good.

Welcome to my favorite band. The current lineup has been together since about 2016 if I am not mistaken. Singer: Tatiana, Guitars: Roman, Bass: Eugene and Drums: Vlad. You have it pretty close. Tati and Roman joined first around 2012-ish I think. Eugene shortly after. They were a Metalcore band initially. The addition of Vlad changed the band quite a bit. He handles most of the composition work. Progressive Groove Metal if you want to get technical about the genre. This is the main gateway song into the band and was also used to introduce Vlad. You will probably get bum rushed by the fans now similar to with TWA. The band is also super cool with reactors and you should not get any copyright strikes from their videos. Next track people usually go for is Perennial Live at Wacken 2019.
I Discovered jinjer about 5 years ago and got addicted to reaction videos to their music but the best thing to come out of it was that I discovered The Warning in the comment section where someone talked about how females were dominating metal and hard rock ...l8ve your reactions and especially love that you get into the lyrics which to me is as important as the music and performance....
So generally a band derives it's identity from it's sound. The band actually considers 2009 as the start of the band which is when Tatiana (the singer) joined instead of 2008 with the previous singer. She does a lot to shape the general sound of the band. From there they went through a few drummers one of which left due to a very tragic accident. The last original member was a second guitar player who left to be an actor. The band's sound has changed over the years somewhat but not as much from the member changes as just a natural evolution over time. They are well known as a live band. In fact a lot of their best videos on UA-cam are live videos. A good next video would be Perennial Live at Wacken Open Air 2019. Some more would be Outlander Live at Loudfest, Pit of Consciousness Live in Kyiv. Captain Clock Live at Resurrection Fest, Cloud Factory Live. That's just a short list.

Do perenial live at wacken (the one with the gold jumpsuit) for the full live experience, as i said before she is "god tier" as a frontperson. Edit:- when you do jinjer reactions its best to stick to live versions/one take vocal. Except for Vortex and Wallflower, definitely do the music video for that two.

@@dougtittl78418 I like her too, but when it comes to versatility in the guttural range I honestly must say that while she does have a powerful voice it is that Tatiana seems to be so comfortable in this vocal range it never seems to be an effort for her. And you can understand the words... Also, I think Tatiana's clean voice is vastly superior, it is almost a jazz voice.
Yep. Most folks don't expect that on their first listen. I have to admit that the harsh vocals is not my thing, but they sure are a talented group of musicians. This one is a classic for reactors for sure.

LOVE JINJER. Tatiana is amazing. My favorite of theirs is Perennial. It’s gorgeous and intense and the lyrics describe the passing of the seasons. Just beautiful.
I'm so glad you looked into the lyrics. They're so powerful and unique. Primarily russian speaking, Tatiana writes her lyrics in second language. English is so foreign to the band that two of the members won't give English interviews due to their lack of fluency. Tatiana writes pure poetry in a language she's not completely comfortable speaking. Tatiana is a Pisces, and very quiet and reserved. She is very much the reluctant rock star. Check out their video Wallflower to hear a different side of her. And Retrospection to hear her sing (some of the song) in russian. Retrospection is about the bands estrangement from their families who live in eastern Ukraine, and whom they rarely see due to the nine years-long war there, as well as the their touring and band life. The video is great as well.

And Tatiana (the singer) is a world class live performer. Watch them live to decide if you need to by the ticket. Yes the recommendations above are really good, but I'm sorry that everyone only recommends live performances, Jinjer also have very good music videos. I personally really like their older music video "I speak Astronomy" for example (the original drummer is still there - he was great, but he couldn't continue playing with the band because he was seriously injured)
@@davidbroz6755 drummer in I Speak Astronomy OMV is Dmitriy Kim. He wasn't injured, he left the band because of the insane touring schedule. But yeah, Kim replaced previous drummer Mantulin, who felt from the window and broke his spine. Mantulin is the drummer in Cloud Factory OMV and Bad Water OMV.
I am seeing them on the 14th :D I am so stoked, I had tickets for 2021, but they cancelled the MTL & TO concert: too small of a venue because of Covid... I had to for wait 2 years! I can't wait! The whole band is just damn talented musicians and good taste in various music styles, influences that they skillfully incorporate into their metal world... I saw the band Jinjer live for the first time in 2013 when they were still making some "heavier" raw music, but Tatjana since she was able to radiate a mega stage presence and cast a spell on everyone! That's why I always advise, go back a bit in their history and see and hear the development from 10/12 years ago to today! Not only Tatjana, who was already a master of switching effortlessly between the clean, clear singing and the screaming & "demons" 🤭! In my opinion she is the best in the whole metal field as far as female singers are concerned because she just masters various styles and combines from nothing....She can rap and scream with heavy sound and add reggae style in a song with no problem if it have to be! I don't know of any other female singers in a band that has such a range and at this level!!! So I recommend you go back 10/12 years to see/hear Tatjana and the band and changes up to today with and start with : Outlander and Scissors firts of all....🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 from 🇨🇭🙃
They are the reason why I started going to concerts again. Have seen them twice now. The Warning is my every day kind of music but Jinjer is my favorite band when I want something heavier. Also like Infected Rain, Butcher Babies and Stitched up Heart. Also if you have a chance to see Sumo Cyco live a Toronto band do so best live band I have seen in 40 years.

It’s a song about the duality within all of us. Pisces is represented by two fish, one being brings life the other runs for death. The two voices are her representation of that duality.

Edit:- when you do jinjer reactions its best to stick to live versions/one take vocal. Except for Vortex and Wallflower, definitely do the music video for that two.
It will be fun watching you go down the Jinjer rabbit hole in the same way that you did with The Warning. Jinjer are another great live band and are touring all the time so if you don’t get to see them in a couple of weeks then they are sure to be back in a year or so.

@@dougtittl78418 I like her too, but when it comes to versatility in the guttural range I honestly must say that while she does have a powerful voice it is that Tatiana seems to be so comfortable in this vocal range it never seems to be an effort for her. And you can understand the words... Also, I think Tatiana's clean voice is vastly superior, it is almost a jazz voice.
Yep. Most folks don't expect that on their first listen. I have to admit that the harsh vocals is not my thing, but they sure are a talented group of musicians. This one is a classic for reactors for sure.
Great reaction! This is old. She's even better now. The best clean vocals, The deepest growls, and the best fry screaming. And her stage presence is second to none.

I've been following your Warning reactions and I wasn't expecting Jinjer whatsoever but I'm so glad you have them on your channel, I love The Warning and Jinjer just as much, both definitely in my top favorite bands

LOVE JINJER. Tatiana is amazing. My favorite of theirs is Perennial. It’s gorgeous and intense and the lyrics describe the passing of the seasons. Just beautiful.

I'm so glad you looked into the lyrics. They're so powerful and unique. Primarily russian speaking, Tatiana writes her lyrics in second language. English is so foreign to the band that two of the members won't give English interviews due to their lack of fluency. Tatiana writes pure poetry in a language she's not completely comfortable speaking.
Tatiana is a Pisces, and very quiet and reserved. She is very much the reluctant rock star. Check out their video Wallflower to hear a different side of her. And Retrospection to hear her sing (some of the song) in russian. Retrospection is about the bands estrangement from their families who live in eastern Ukraine, and whom they rarely see due to the nine years-long war there, as well as the their touring and band life. The video is great as well.
When she was interviewed on the charismatic voice, she said she originally writes her lyrics in Russian then translates to English.
Welcome to Jinjer. Tatiana writes the lyrics; she was a literature major in university. The musicianship is top shelf and Tatiana is a vocal goddess. I suggest "Perennial" live at Wacken for both the performance and the poetry of the lyrics as a follow up. Great reaction (Subbed)

Yes the recommendations above are really good, but I'm sorry that everyone only recommends live performances, Jinjer also have very good music videos. I personally really like their older music video "I speak Astronomy" for example (the original drummer is still there - he was great, but he couldn't continue playing with the band because he was seriously injured)
@@davidbroz6755 drummer in I Speak Astronomy OMV is Dmitriy Kim. He wasn't injured, he left the band because of the insane touring schedule.
But yeah, Kim replaced previous drummer Mantulin, who felt from the window and broke his spine.
Mantulin is the drummer in Cloud Factory OMV and Bad Water OMV.

The whole band is just damn talented musicians and good taste in various music styles, influences that they skillfully incorporate into their metal world... I saw the band Jinjer live for the first time in 2013 when they were still making some "heavier" raw music, but Tatjana since she was able to radiate a mega stage presence and cast a spell on everyone! That's why I always advise, go back a bit in their history and see and hear the development from 10/12 years ago to today! Not only Tatjana, who was already a master of switching effortlessly between the clean, clear singing and the screaming & "demons" 🤭! In my opinion she is the best in the whole metal field as far as female singers are concerned because she just masters various styles and combines from nothing....She can rap and scream with heavy sound and add reggae style in a song with no problem if it have to be! I don't know of any other female singers in a band that has such a range and at this level!!! So I recommend you go back 10/12 years to see/hear Tatjana and the band and changes up to today with and start with : Outlander and Scissors firts of all....🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 from 🇨🇭🙃

The Warning is my every day kind of music but Jinjer is my favorite band when I want something heavier.

It’s a song about the duality within all of us. Pisces is represented by two fish, one being brings life the other runs for death. The two voices are her representation of that duality.
You're not the only one who was shocked. This is my first time listening to them as well. She's a bad ass with that voice. Will definitely be checking out more videos of them.
That OMG moment is legit. I was in a dive bar once when Straight Line Stitch was there. When that timy little Black girl started roaring..... They stole the show, absolute beast. I got a hug from her after the show, it was one of those hugs you keep.

As a next song to explore Jinjer, I would highly recommend to do "Perennial Live at Wacken 2019". I really like them.. Amazing singer and great musicians in the band..
I think it is important to watch a video with this band, the 1st time listening, for the full effect! If not, you probably wouldn’t believe it was the same person. It’s crazy.. Beautiful women with a cool voice suddenly sounds like a demon possessed!
