Jinjer's vocal coaches hunting season never ends...
😹😹😹 We are always looking for the unique and memorable vocal performances - this one certainly did not disappoint!
@@YourOnlineSingingCoach As a Jinjer fan I'm glad you liked them. Keep them coming!!
You should see her live performances. She is an absolute top tier stage presence goddess. I recommend watching "Perennial" live at Wacken in 2019. Also check out the official video of "Teacher Teacher", though it's a studio produced version of the song, the video is cuts from live performances. She OWNS the crowd and the stage. Also, from a vocal coach's perspective, You should really check out the one take performance of "Judgement & Punishment". You can really see what she is doing anatomically. Also, Jinjer is just an awesome band all in all. They are phenomenally tight, and though there are plenty of groups in their genre, there is no one that sounds like they do. You make Jinjer videos...the Jinjer army will watch them
Thanks for the great suggestions!
This.
I had the privilege of seeing them live a couple weeks ago. Jinjer opened Disturbed. And Breaking Benjamin. Amazing show, all three band sound just as good, if not better, live.
Just saw Jinjer in Destin Florida (3rd row) and Tati is "on the top" of her game. I have never seen a singer/frontperson with a more powerful stage presence. And her vocals were spot on.
I love Who is gonna be the one too! She has so much fun on stage. I see her live on the 27th! Can’t wait!
Never gets old... vocal coaches react to Jinjer 🙂
If you like the belt - definitely add "I Speak Astronomy" (official video) to your Jinjer explorations!
On The Top live in Kiev (now Kyiv) has some great belting too, though maybe not on the level of epicness of I Speak Astronomy. I Speak Astronomy is one where there isn't a concert video that definitively overshadows the omv - though either Resurrection Fest or Summer Breeze are good their recording quality isn't perfect. Captain Clock from Resurrection fest has some beautiful belting too.
Yes THIS -- I Speak Astronomy from Live at Melbourne is THE moment I "got it" ... about 20 minutes into that concert - love her vocal on that and one of my favorite songs by them
They are the best. Definitely need to see Judgement and Punishment one take vocal, Perennial live at Wacken, Vortex, Wallflower, Teacher Teacher.
These for sure. I get the impression that she might enjoy I Speak Astronomy a lot also.
Yes, Ukraine. Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, where the fighting started in 2014.
Some post production with the layers and harmonies, but YES, that is all her. The harsh don't come from the vocal chords , but from the false vocal folds. Tatiana is mostly self taught, with her bigger influences being Gwen Stefani and , for the harsh, Otep and Randy Blythe(Lamb of God).
This live session was done to showcase Vlad on drums, he had joined not long before this. He is classically trained on piano, and self taught on drums. He ,Roman on guitar, and Eugene on bass are all great musicians. The guys were stuck in Kiev when the current fighting started, but were allowed to leave last year to tour and be ambassadors for Ukraine.
The usual next step, if you choose to do more from them, is to see her live. Perennial at Wacken 2019 or Pit of Consciousness in Kiev.
Putler kaput.
Donetsk is *not* Ukraine. End never will be in the future. Cause Ukraine is dead state.
Another quite cool influence she’s cited is a Sandra Nasic of Guano Apes. I think you really can hear it.
Perennial live is amazing!
There are a few women in metal who growl, and a few who can switch it on and off on a phrase or even on a word. It is an acquired taste for sure, but it does add texture and narrative detail when used as Tatiana does here - from the lyrics we understand she is talking about duality and that is overtly expressed by how each aspect of "Pisces" has a voice of its own.
"texture and narrative" - well said!!!
@@YourOnlineSingingCoach She is self taught. She uses her false folds to 'GROWL'. There is some vocal doubling, but check the live "Perennial" about seasonal depression.
For contrasts, please react to, "Teacher Teacher".
Definitely check out Perennial live at Wacken, I think you'll love it.
Her stage presents is second to none. ❤
Subbed, can't wait to see more.
Ask to describe Tatiana in 1 word… STUNNING!!!!
Stunning works!
I would say treasure.
Yup that's all her. She is quite good at the false chord screaming/growling. The number of good live on stage videos of her doing this is a really long list but you would probably enjoy the Perennial Live at Wacken Open Air and Judgement and Punishment One Take, Outlander Live at Loudfest, Pit of Consciousness Live in Kyiv, On the Top Live in Kyiv and I Speak Astronomy Videos.
Saw them live in Denver last month. They put on an incredible show and Tatiana is amazing.
I bet the live show is pretty fierce 👍
I was waiting for your reaction to the belt. That's my favorite section too, especially how effortlessly she switches to it. It's not the same shock you get when she first does the screams, but it's still very unexpected, and she sounds amazing.
Yes, I would say the scream is a shock, the high belt is a surprise - and it does sound fantastic ☺️
The fondation of many of Jinjer's songs is Jazz. In the first part of Pisces Tatiana sounds like a jazz singer. Tatiana is a world class growler with the voice of an angel. The song Jinger Bad Water is good example of a song where sings in only cleans.
little bit jazz (no improvisation), but moreso composers like Carl Orff, Stravinsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Grieg, other romantic to modern classical composers.
The song title is perfect. Pisces, the two fish. The duality of life , ying and yang. Half the time she sings like god damn Brittany Spears, the other parts she sounds like the devil.
edit : This song deserves to be listened to many times, because Tatiana will steal the show on your first listen....but the band is incredibly clean and precise.
the song's theme is Pisces, everything is about Pisces, particularly surrender and myrterdom. Duality isn't unique to Pisces, other duality signs are Gemini, Cancer, Libra, Aquarius. Cancer symbol is actually 2 fishes too!
Ironically, Tatiana got started growling from a similar experience to what she's giving so many others today. She heard Otep in 2002 or so and was shocked to learn that Otep Shamaya is a woman. She was inspired to get serious about singing (she'd had a few months of vocal lessons in school) and to learn growling. She started singing with every band that would let her join to build her base while practicing growls on the side for about 5 years until she started growliin performances in 2008 with a band called Prophecy that was more Otep influenced. Interesting because in Jinjer her growls are more Randy Blythe influenced - but I think that fits Jinjer's music better while Prophecy was more punky. She says Jinjer is her 8th band and at one time she was singing with 4 bands in the town where she grew up.
Covers: doing featured vocals with Suicide Silence (husband Alex Lopez's former band) on Alice In Chains' "Man In The Box."
Next one isn't Jinjer but a side project Tati did in Jinjer's early years before the 2014 war in eastern Ukraine forced them to leave their homes behind to continue their careers. If you search "vidcerts tatiana jinjer nirvana" you'll find 22 minutes of Tati doing latin-infused Nirvana covers. To hear her cover Nirvana growling there's Territorial Pissings with Eugene the bassist of Jinjer and hubby Alex doing guitar and drums from the early days of the covid lockdowns, and a couple of weeks after Puddle of Mudd's infamous cover though nobody is saying if it was a response or a coincidence.
Some other women growlers to check out: 9 year old Harper doing Spiritbox's "Holy Roller" on AGT - though I think they tuned that a bit lower than Harper naturally growls comparing to other stuff from her, still she's really good.
Courney LaPlante of Spiritbox "Rule of Nines" one take. (I like the omv of Holy Roller better than the one take myself).
Melissa Bonny is a relative newcommer but has a lovely voice and very smooth growls - Marching On Versailles or I Am The Storm are a couple of smples of her work or covering Jenny Oldstones from GOT with a project called Dark Side Of The Moon.
Otep's Ghostflowers from the Confrontation live DVD is a good example of her vocal skills.
Arch Enemy's new singer Alyssa White-Gluz is hard to suggest for because she started as a fry screamer with good clean skills in The Agonist then joined AE and got mentored by their former singer and sounds like she added false cord growls in 2017. But it's hard to find top quality recordings of recent performances so the most common live for reactions is Nemesisat Wacken from 2016 beforeshe added false cords. My best suggestion is Arch Enemy Sunset Over The Empire at Graspop 2023.
And last but certainly not least is Angela Gossow the former singer of Arch Enemy in Nemesis live in Tokyo 2008.
There's lots more than I could possibly list. ;)
You should check out the Judgment (& Punishment) one take vocal performance.
Awesome Reaction! Welcome to Jinjer!
Like I always say welcome to the jinjer army you will never be disappointed 🤘
Let me list some more women that have a similar skillset: Courtney LaPlante from Spiritbox - song recommendation "Cirlce with me" one take vocal and or studio. Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy - Handshake with Hell. Vicky Psarakis from The Agonist - Remnants in Time. Melissa Bonny from Rage of Light / Ad Infinitum / Darkside of the Moon - Twilight of the Thundergod (Amon Amarth Cover). There might be alot more, but these come to my mind if we talk about mixing regular with harsh vocals.
Great, thank you for all these names!!!
Other women who can do false cord/fry/harsh vocals: Jessie Williams (Ankor), Lena Scissorhands (Infected Rain), Megan Targett (Vexed) Nicol Hofmanová (Stellvris) Adrienne Cowan (Seven Spires), Mayu (Nemophila), Yukina (Hanabie).
Jinjer recommendation: Judgement (& Punishment) - Tatiana Shmayluk - One Take Vocal Performance
@@RedShift76Lauren Hart (Once Human), Angela Gossow former Arch Enemy
@@merowinger4802 Angela was one of the early women who popularized women doing harsh vocals.
No distortion, no special effects, that's her voice!
You`re not quite right. This is so called "live session" consists of pack of vocals (double-tracking in pre-chorus for example). In the chorus we can clearly hear at least three vocal tracks (low formant growl (doubled) and high formant screams.
You should watch next Perennial (live at Wacken) and Teacher Teacher (official).
Thank you, I look forward to checking out more from them.
Lol pisces falls in softer song spectrum for jinjer....she uses deeper growls in many other songs and live versions.....Tati uses mostly false chord screaming for all her harshes but sometimes the sustained screams sound like vocal fry.....she is one of the best all-around metal vocalists in the game.
Jinjer Perennial live in Wacken 🔥
JINJER - WHO IS GONNA BE THE ONE (LIVE) - blow your mind
Awesome live. Seeing them for the second time this September. CAN'T WAIT!!
Welcome to Jinjer. For vocal coaches, "Perennial" live at Wacken and "Judgement and Punishment" allows the viewer a good chance for analysis. Good reaction. (Subbed)
In the original recording, the belt would have confused you.
Context: the recording (and this MV also) double layers Tatiana's voice. For most of it, it just adds impact, but during the belt, one part belts while the other growls.
Several people thought there are "two singers" in the song because of that part.
Also, the band never expected this MV to blow up - they made it to introduce their new drummer. The way he adds ghost notes to this song is great.
Haha! Always great to see new reactors to this. I'm grinning from ear to ear!
Always fun to watch a first reaction to this. Amazing transition between those two voices.
Perennial live waken 2019
I never liked extreme vocals until I discovered Jinjer/Tatiana. To repeat what others have said - Perennial Live @Wacken Open Air is great “evidence”, Teacher, Teacher music video is just beautiful, slick, groovy and heavy. Who is going to be the one live is just a statement of dominance with a twist - and Judgement and Punishment- one take vocal features a cute cat.
My suggestion is perennial live first, then teacher, teacher, but it’s all great.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Jinjer! 😆 The scream/growl harsh vocals are definitely all Tatiana, it’s use of her false vocal folds (it does sound like she probably doubled some of the harsh vocals in post-production, but the base sound is all her). I would definitely recommend checking out the “live from Wacken 2019” video of their song Perennial because it really shows off her amazing ability to instantly transition back and forth between clean and harsh vocals in a big concert setting. I think you would also enjoy the official video for their song Wallflower. The song has a very cool jazz-like groove in the first half which gradually builds up to a big finish and Tatiana’s vocals are about 80% clean singing.
"Sounds good, nice vocals" - Jinjer reactions starter pack😁
I love your reaction, I remember when I first heard them, I was blown away and had the giggles as well. So badass! Love you girl!
omg I was wondering if you had already covered Jinjer and thought you would love it! I've been practicing using my false vocal cords since then 😹 Let's catch up this week?
More female growling:
-- Nemophila: Dissension, Revive
-- Hanabie: We love sweets
Both are all-female metal bands from Japan.
Thank you for a awesome reaction to Jinjer. Tatiana is the most versatile female front woman in a progressive metal band and my favorite singer. You might like the song Wallflower, Tati shows her beautiful voice in half the song that tells a story of being an introvert, just please don't piss her off, lol. Just seen them 2 weeks ago. Perennial live at Wacken also showcases her stage performance and singing ability.😅
Lol jinjer has nothing to do with metalcore so u're inaccurate off the jump 😂😂
@@davidjames6036 Sorry, changed post. Wasn't thinking when I said metal core (Jinjer is definitely not punk) Heavy and progressive metal, more the music they play
first time seeing your reactions but you did great !!
The only band I’ve liked every song they’ve put out in my entire life.
These never get old
Perennial live at Wacken to see her true stage presence, as well as quicker transitions between those two vocal types
Great reaction! Glad you enjoyed your first listen to women doing harsh vocals. Other bands with female singers doing harsh vocals include Spiritbox (Courtney LaPlante), Arch Enemy (Angela Gossow and Alissa White Gluz), Ad Infinitum (Melissa Bonny), Dark Side of the Moon (also Melissa) and Seven Spires (Adrienne Cowan). Oh by the way, Floor Jansen can do death metal growls as well. Only used in one Nightwish song but she used to growl a lot in her previous band Revamp. The Nightwish song is Yours is an Empty Hope. The Wembley version is the best to hear her growls since they are layered under Marko's cleans in the chorus. For her Revamp stuff checkout Misery's No Crime, Disdain, and Wild Card. One of the best examples of her growl is from her solo concert in Amsterdam in 2021. Song is from her first band, After Forever. It is called Face Your Demons and she only growls on two words but perfectly placed and in context for the lyrics. ua-cam.com/video/4sg1SVQ_QvQ/v-deo.html. One of my favorite songs with female harsh vocals is By Alissa White Gluz but not with her band Arch Enemy but with Powerwolf, Demons are a Girls Best Friend. Great song with all harsh vocals and the video is outstanding with great costumes. ua-cam.com/video/lDZ7p7WAG2o/v-deo.html.
Yeah, this is the video that pretty much broke the reaction community, and I suppose anyone else who’s seen it. I just love very versatile vocalists in any genre.
She’s a vocal beast who will rip your lungs out !! Fucking awesome
Thank you, this was great! ❤ Subscribed! For you as a vocal coach the "Judgement and Punishment one take vocal performance" should be very interesting.
I'd add the uncommon suggestion, considering your wish to hear some cover from Tatiana.
There's the cover from Tatiana and the band Suicide Silence of the song "Man In The Box" of Alice in Chains. No harsh vocal from Tatiana but brilliant high and low clean notes she hits.
Another great cover from Tatiana and some other musicians (including her husband drummer Alex Lopez) - performed live "Laid To Rest" of Lamb Of God. Mostly harsh vocal from Tatiana and as always commanding style of her stage presence.
You could be interested.
Yes
You want to hear a cover by them? Ok, they did a cover of Nirvana's Territorial pissing, together with suicide silence.
I like their version very much.
Lol I like it way better than Nirvana version 😂😂
Sounds cool, thanks for the suggestion!
I’m sure others have already said this, but that is 100% Tatiana’s voice. She is using her false vocal chords. They have said they occasionally use a slight delay, but otherwise no effects are used live.
Amazing. She has such a well developed distorted sound, mine sounded quite puny when I tried, ha ha.
@@YourOnlineSingingCoach she can go much lower in her distortion in songs like a Home Back.
In the many decades I've listened to rock and metal Tatiana is without a doubt one of the best metal vocalists I have ever heard.
My favourite part of the song is the word "world" and the Growl/Belt/Growl near the end, such a good end.
Fun reaction! Never gets old watching someone react to Jinjer for the first time! The voice is definitely ALL Tati! She's not the "only" female metal vocalist that does growls and cleans, but she's the ABSOLUTE BEST! Jinjer is best consumed "live," so I'd suggest Perennial (Live at Wacken 2019), Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev), On The Top (Live in Kiev), Vortex (Live at Hellfest 2021). If you enjoy One-Take Vocals, you'll definitely enjoy Judgement and Punishment (One-Take Vocal). I'd love seeing your reactions to any/all of these!
Woman you woke up with this reaction now...haha
I"I Speak Astronomy" has a LOT more of her singing clean, versus the growls, but what impressed me most is her ability to flip between clean and growl without more than a second or two break.
no she is legit watch her live
Cool, I definitely will!
That ending gets me every time, where she belts and then rips out those ending screams with the last one at the higher fry. It’s absolutely rippin. Loveeee it. ❤
i saw them live a few weeks ago, they did not disappoint at all.. amazing show
I heard from a few people who were there, everyone said it was fantastic! 👍
Tatiana is my Siren and my Succubus ❤ I have such a thing for female metal vocalists but she is by far my favorite.
Nah, I just love watching newbies to Jinjer freak the F out! 🤘❤
Tatiana is one of the best vocalists I know of. Such amazing ability.
Courtney LaPlante's (Spiritbox) live one-take of Circle With Me is another amazing example of a female metal vocalist that can switch between beautiful singing and brutal screaming.
I recommend you watch Lilli (the Fairy Godmother) and her reaction to this, especially her demonstration of the harsh vocals.
MORE JINJER!!!
Tatiana is amazing 😍
It Never Gets Old! XD Nice video...
If ye want a solo, watch Tati's "Judgement and Punishments" One Take Studio session. Gives a great view of her throat and shoulder techniques.
…I also love the guest star's cameo appearance! 😉😁👍

There is a whole new generation of women who are doing this now. There is even a 10 year old girl who does it! Her name is Harper. She has her own UA-cam channel and her dad helped her record an album.
There is also a Barbie-doll like pop star turned metalcore shock rock vocalist named Poppy who does it. You really have to watch her sometime. It's like watching a tender sweet Lady Gaga go absolutely bat---- nutz. She recently released a video of her cover of Kittie's song "Spit".
Other female growlers:
Jinjer
Arch Enemy
Spiritbox
Infected Rain
Butcher Babies
Straight Line Stitch
Otep
Kittie
Nightwish
If you ever want to witness how much energy one of these front women can muster from a crowd, then check out Angela Gossow Live from Japan. Holy crap is she awesome.
Thank you for commenting on the stage presence emitting command and confidence. Rarely do coaches analyze this about her and other singers. I too am not a big fan of screams but only when done in a limited manner placed strategically for attention and interest. Another singer to dive in is Dan Vasc who does tons of covers that you can pick.
That was also my favorite part of her vocal
Definitely check out Perennial live at Wacken to see her command the stage.
I speak astronomy
People could make react videos to this for the next century and I’d still watch every one. Highly recommend checking out the rest of the band’s material… Tatiana is a brilliantly talented vocalist.
She is performing a false vocal cord scream. Listen to the Fairy Voice Mother react to this. After she spits out her tea she explains exactly how Tatiana is producing this sound.
Great reaction! So glad you found things you liked even if metalcore is not your style. Tatiana is one of the best growlers in the business and is better than most men. While most Jinjer songs feature more harsh vocals, they almost always have lots of contrast in their music, even if it is less extreme than in Pisces. I would check out "Perennial" live at Wacken, "Judgement and Punishment" one take, and "Vortex". Can't wait to see more
Didn't see it on your playlist, so if you haven't checked out Disturbed's cover of "Sound of Silence" you Really REALLY should. They've done multiple covers ("Land of Confusion," "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You," and "ISHFWILF" are just a few) but i believe "Sound of Silence" is on a whole different level. Saw Jinjer open for Disturbed last Saturday and they both were AMAZING!
Perennial is one of the best live performances..but so is Just Another. Thats not full live but her smiles & command of stage & crowd are awesome
Although there are definitely some post-production effects going on (the swelling reverb on the the line "cherish his life to the underworld," and the vocal doubling in the last section), those are just to add some fullness to the sound, but the actual vocal growl is all Tatiana! Aside from Tatiana, some others you should check out that do similar effects are Angela Gossow and Alyssa White-Gluz (former and current singers for Arch Enemy, respectively), Maria Brink (In This Moment), and more recent stars in the making Yukina (of the Japanese band Hanabie) and Mayu (of the Japanese band Nemophila). Yukina is probably the most interesting of them all, in my opinion, with her ability to switch between normal cleans, high-pitched anime-like cleans, and mid-range and deep growls (ala Jinjer). Mayu tends toward higher screams, more of a black-metal banshee wail, but also with gorgeous cleans.
Hanabie "Be the Gal" - ua-cam.com/video/hTuPwVYHc_M/v-deo.html
Nemophila "Dissension" - ua-cam.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/v-deo.html
In This Moment "The Purge" - ua-cam.com/video/soVg7yjNG5s/v-deo.html
Arch Enemy (Alyssa White-Gluz) "Reason to Believe" - ua-cam.com/video/0kJdWJXxF3Y/v-deo.html
Jinjer are immaculate live. Instrumentally, they are complex, but allow for space. Fantastic writers. As for Tati, I can't stress enough how magnetic she is as a front woman. She owns the stage, and one can tell she's singing from her soul.
>Instrumentally,they are complex
hahahahaha
A great reaction. You really should check out at least these three performances by, Jinjer; 'Perennial' live at Wacken Open Air Festival from 2019, this shows just how good Tatiana and the band are in a live setting; 'Judgement (and Punishment)' Tatiana's One-Take Vocal version, this gives you a good view of her up close whilst singing; and 'Home Back' the official music video, this shows how well her and the band can incorporate different musical styles in one song. There are many other great songs and videos of theirs to recommend but the ones that I suggest here give you a good overview of her and the bands talents.
Tatiana uses her low with a purpose.
Sometimes to express anger, sometimes to portray a sadness that only "this" can express.
That being said, with Jinger, it would be a good idea to read the lyrics to better understand the emotions when she's going back and forth.
It really does make a lot of sense once you know what the song is about.
So whether it's about a fish or whether it's about her emotions from past experiences, she hit this one out of the park.
😊❤️🤘🤘
She also alters the way she sings the clean lines to fit the mood of the songs. She has a tone all of her own but uses many styles to express.
Check out her llive one take judgement and punishment
Tatiana has essentially created an entire industry - I don't know if there is a count kept of how many reaction videos have been made just from this recording of the song "Pisces" - but it has to be in the 6 digits!
I'm not much of a metalcore fan, but Jinjer instrumentally border on progressive rock, and the technical excellence of both the instrumentalists and Tatiana is undeniable!
I'm so sad I missed seeing her in Raleigh because of weather :( I hope they reschedule!!! I was so excited to see her. Forget Disturbed and BB :(
Listen to their song"Noah" please. It's one of my absolute favorites
came for pentatonix stayed for jinjer!!!!!
This is definitely her. She's exceptionally talented! Not too many like her on this planet that's for sure. I love the reactions to her though lol! People are so confused and its great lol! You should check out Arch Enemy (Female Lead) you see that Tatiana isn't alone lol!
If you wanna hear something interesting search for "The Warning - Survive Live At Teatro Metropolitan Cdmx 08-29-2022". They're a three sisters band from mexico, in witch both the guitarrist and drummer sing lead. An amazing cover form the drumer Pau is "The Warning - Creep Radiohead Pau Cover"
It never get's old seeing a new reaction to this. It is her 100%. ua-cam.com/video/FyHmpM0doNk/v-deo.html. Recommendations Perennial live Wacken pronounced with a v sound so Vahcken 2019 Who is gonna be the one. This to my knowledge is only the second time Tatiana has done that high belt section outside of when the original vocal track was laid down for the King of Everything album as she has said in interview she doesn't do it live as she's afraid she'll miff it up so she just guttural growls it. This was done shortly after Vlad joined the band in 2016. They got to the studio early so Tatiana laid some overdubs down which you hear on the 2nd-"scale armor...blaze." It's on the blaze- then "brings life' then "runs for death". Your reaction your face was priceless to see. Well now your down the rabbit hole so hope to see more reactions to Jinjer. The link I posted here is from 2015/16 when Tati was laying tracks for King of Everything. If you watch you'll see why I sent it. THere's a lot of interviews to watch here on you tube. She was also interviewed on The Charismatic Voice channel here on you tube.
Thank you for this great info! I don't blame her for not wanting to do that part you mentioned live often - with everyone recording every moment on phones nowadays, it's a LOT of pressure.
You really gotta check out Jinjer "who is gonna be the one " live video, beast mode Tatiana and pure stage presence
Welcome to the club 😄
The best thing about her as well is the fact she is self taught
The song is slightly edited and falls somewhere between the studio and live version. The death growls are real and so are the rapid changes.

And this is how she sounds when she sings:
Seven Spiers - "Gods Of Debauchery" - Official Music Video
Jinjer is only a part metal core band. What you heard was death growls most of the time. Only at the end does she switch to the typical Core screaming. Along with jazz there is a unique mix. Jinjer break the genre boundaries.
A better example of (post)core:
FUTURE PALACE - Paradise (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
The band was formed in 2008 in eastern Ukraine. 2009 saw the first replacement and Tati took over the microphone. By 2015 the band is completely replaced and there are no more founders in the band. That's why they name 2009 as their founding date today. Pisces was the international breakthrough.
In 2014 they had to flee to the west because of the civil war. In 2022 they are at the Russian attack in Kiev and help to defend the city on the civilian side. Since no man of military age is allowed to leave the country due to the general mobilization, they had to go on tour with a special permit and collect donations for the Ukraine.
Thank you for the suggestions and furthering my knowledge about Jinjer. Tough situation in Ukraine ❤️
Arch EnemyBoth vocalists), Spiritbox, In This Moment, are my other favorite female fronted harsh vocalists.
enjoy me some jinjer!! I know you like to watch floor from Nightwish- her old band she was in (revamp) live from Graspop song called disdain 2010-with her growling- keep em coming!!
Thank you, now I'm so curious about Floor's growl! ☺️
I definitely recommend "Teacher Teacher" as the next song to check out by Jinjer!
Another singer whom you might know who growls is a certain Floor Jansen - check out her previous band Revamp "Disdain" live at Graspop in 2010...you might be surprised...
That's all here. Perennial live at Wacken shows her talent well
There are a surprising number of female lead vocalists that do growls and screams. for example the lead singer (Britanny Slayes) for Unleash the Archers.
it's legit
There are any number of women performing Growl/Death Growl vocals. My, personal, favourite is Jill Janus from her band Huntress. Jill's a classically trained Soprano Coloratura who growls like you wouldn't believe. Listen to their song The Tower. (In fact, I think she'd eat Tatyana for a mid-morning-snack.) Also, Floor Jansen from Nightwish, back when she fronted her band ReVamp, did such vocals. You'll want to watch their live performance of Disdain, Graspop, 2010.
