Jeff, I'm doing the Ideal Protein weight loss program and in the past 7 months I have lost just about 80 lbs. I'm feeling so much better than I did at my heaviest (311 lbs) and no longer take any medications (I was on 2 blood pressure meds)
not tryin to be a debbie downer but microwaves zap most of the nutrients out and the plastic leeches into the meal when it is heated your on a good path to success thank you for tryin I'm proud of you maybe next time you can make it from scratch?? maybe try going to sprouts market or a natural grocers just remember you don't have to eat less you just have to eat better stay happy and motivated and just do what makes you happy because thats all that matters :)
I can see this being useful, I weight lift a lot and by the middle of the week I start to run out of time to meal prep (I usually can only store about 2-3 days worth of pre-made meals), from what I understand one of the biggest pitfalls to not gaining muscle is not having a ready source of healthy protein available. For example, your tired, had a lousy day at work, forgot to meal prep and then you eat out or grab something convenient instead (fast food) and hold yourself back from your goals. Meal prepping is still the ideal but being prepared is essential.
Hey jeff. I hope you are successful in your weight loss journey. I'd encourage you to just learn how to cook healthy on your own. stuff like this is rarely enjoyable long term. do you plan on eating these meals forever? weight loss is pretty easy science. lower your calories intake as much as possible. Burn as much as you possibly can. Eat clean. The less ingredients/preservatives the better. Eat lots of greens. drink only water nothing else. You can literally eat w.e you want and lose weight. just keep it clean. If I can suggest one thing jeff. look into intermediate fasting! its one of the best things you could do! good luck jeff. from one nepa to another. You can do it man.
Not sure why they would send meals meant to be nutritious but make them to be popped in the microwave. Cooking like that will deplete nutrients and I personally don't like anything even just reheated in the microwave. Do they give any alternative to heat in the oven?
+Eli Hanna I know that I just meant like average means you would want to eat everyday because a lot of people don't eat things because of look and I'll be honest, these don't look to appealing.
The food looked pretty good! If you're really into low carb / paleo, you're more than welcome to come join my group on Facebook. We share lots of ideas and recipes. Great people. Good luck with your weight loss! Smokin' Low Carb ~Sam
The microwave kills almost all vitamins in the food and in the vegetables, it doesn't make sense to me to eat such kind of food. If you make it by self you know which product's are into the food, I would never order fast food. But that's my opinion, do it by yourself. Or better, marry a good women that can cook great thats my solution. ;-)
+hanf022 How does microwave kill vitamins? Microwaves just heats up the liquid molecules in the food and it ends up heating up the food by shaking the water molecules at a micro level.
+hanf022 Heating itself destroys/converts SOME of the vitamins. So while "microwave destroys vitamins" is true, it is still more nutritious than say cooking over a stove top.
You can have 2 of these a day shipped directly to your house for the low, low price of $800 per month. I can see why it's so expensive with the free range beef and cage free eggs and whatever else, and the convenience of it, but who has that kind of money to be spending on food every month?
MncDssctn there were no creole caveman either. The one irreplaceable ingredient in jambalaya is the rice. This reminds me of the medieval times scene i n the cable guy when Mathew Broderick asks the waitress for a knife and fork. And she says, There were no knives and forks in medieval times, therefore there are no knives and forks AT medieval times. Broderick responds, They had Pepsi?
+MncDssctn Since the dawn of man, we have eaten grains. Not sure why the whole paleo movement has banned them. If we wanted a true "paleo" diet, we'd be eating mostly vegetarian with roots, seasonal veggies, seeds, etc. blogs.scientificamerican.com/guest-blog/human-ancestors-were-nearly-all-vegetarians/
Sam The grains our ancestors ate and the grains that came with agriculture are not the same. Heck, the grains our great grandparents ate are not the same as the grains we have today, they've been processed so much that they're more or less unrecognizable. But meat from grass fed animals have pretty much stayed the same and we've eaten them for millions of years.
Jeff your a big guy same as me, I upped my activity level and turned all my fat into fuel you can be big and eat as much as you want you just gotta be able to burn it! So don't change your eating habits still eat and eat just add in large muscle group exercises (squats) start off with a little bit of weight get your form down correct. If you start doing that,it'll increase your heart rate your body will start producing more testosterone and you will burn that fat right off guaranteed
+Christopher Wick Actually, so long as you're not guzzling down sweets and fats, you really don't have to make big changes to your diet. Just eat a little less (Don't go back for seconds but put an extra half a scoop of X) and cut out 50% or more of your desert section and you're golden so long as you maintain a good workout plan for 5/7 days of the week
+Noobyfools sugar is a big one I am not much of sugar eater or sweets for that matter so that was one thing I really didn't have to worry about maybe if you count carbs as turning into sugar that's a different story now that I am in a cycle I do cardio every morning and Weight train five days a week. And when I say cycle I meant workout cycle not a steroid cycle!!
Christopher Wick gotcha gotcha haha. I know I'm forcing myself to take smaller portions and doing as much extra work as possible during and after school so I'm moving around as much as I can cause once I get to my room I really won't want to get back out so I'll do what I can while I can, including walking 30 minutes home
Problem with the turkey Hash is that Sweet potato, anything with starch is NOT on the paleo diet. Calories aren't the issue, Its the sugar and starch people over eat in the "modern" lifestyle. You can eat all the veggies you want as long as they are paleo oked. No peas, corn, starchy veggies.
Just wonderful, I been tryin to find out about "is hummus paleo friendly" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Diyarter Benaylee Cure - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my friend got great success with it.
I appreciate that this is ready to go, delivered to your door. But, I'm choking on $20 to $40 per day. That's $600 to $1200 per month. My wife and I eat well for $300 per month. Yes I have to buy it and cook it, but at those prices I'm getting paid a lot to do that.
Hi Jeff, why don't you invest on cooking classes instead of spending money on prepared meals? Preparing your own (fresh) food is gonna make you more conscious on what you are eating thus will keep you away from junk food and it's good fun. Also I know you (or your parents) have a piece of land, why don't you use the seeds you got from the apoca box to start a vegetable garden. I am into vegetable gardening and it's fun, very rewarding and it helps in keeping fit. I wish you all the best, I like your vids a lot particularly knife reviews and the outdoor ones around your property. Ciao
The argument that you need to buy a whole bag of potatoes to get the vegetable, but only use one which inflates the cost is disingenuous. Implying you wont be able to use the potatoes and spices for another recipe tomorrow. The shelf life on most vegetables and spices ane such that they will last until you can use all the product before it spoils. I food costed the salmon meal based on the ingredients list and it came to $7.29(based on my local prices, rural Canada). Your saying that they charge $13, that's a lot for the convenience of creating such a simple meal. I think this is only for the very wealthy(wealthy enough, to the point that cost isn't a consideration at least), who in all reality can afford to eat out, and get a superior product.
Too expensive you can eat well for cheap by going to grocery store, and stop being lazy cook, shit even health smart microwave meals at Walmart is cheaper and jus as healthy plus stop being lazy and cook and work out make it a life choice not jus for now than get off the diet, stay motivated and will power is stronger than jus oh let me buy this gimmick meals.
You have to learn to differentiate between what you like and what your body requires. You are given ample amounts of fuel here yet you choose to lean towards what you prefer vs. what you need. Gluttony will continue to be the deal breaker for you. Extra portions of the proteins you like are not beneficial. Treat yourself like the machine that you are and fuel for your needs, not just your wants and likes.
You can easily buy the herbs and spices for the price of just one of those dinners, which will last you for months. On the other hand, you may have a point regarding people not being able to cook-although I find it hard to fathom ruining a piece of salmon.
haaa diets what r those?? jus hit the gym couple times a week an u can eat whatever u want.. by acouple i mean once if u want.. but ull get more benefits the more u go... obviously.
since it sounds like you will not be doing this meal thing a suggestion would be to stay away from anything white: potato's, pasta, bread, basically anything white. portions of meat should not be any larger than the palm of your hand. good luck!!
yeah, these are waaaaay more expensive than the cost of going to the store to buy ingrediants. but, i get the convienance. but to say it would cost a lot more to make yourself is flat out wrong.
I could not eat that steak it is too cooked I like my beef steak blue rare to rare the other meals maybe I could do I sorta follow a modified paleo diet but not super strict
tom jones That's bullshit... you're not speaking from experience, are you? I can tell you read an article about it and now consider yourself an authority on the matter...
I like your idea Jeff about this company offering the proteins as being sold separately. I like to whip up my own sides whenever I take home one of those BBQ chickens from the grocery store...
Actually spices are really very cheap, it's just that those bottles of spices are ridiculous. If you have a store that does bulk spices it's a wonderful thing. A bag of turmeric, for example, would cost maybe 50 cents for the same weight as the 5 or 6 dollar bottle.
absolutely true. I needed ground thyme last week. I bought about a quarter cup at the bulk food store for less than a dollar. Small bottle in the grocery store was almost $5
Did you wash it down with a few beers and a cigar and a vape or two ..... Jeff, you know you are going to Burger King and get a few whoppers now.. We need you buddy, stop this insanity and wasting funds.
+MncDssctn A lot of cholesterol in the yolk. I usually eat 3 egg whites, and 1 yolk. You want fats from olive oil, avocado, etc.. you don't want fat from animals
+algreen saturated fat is awful, (MEAT FAT) fats are SOOO good!! Healthy fats. Nuts, legumes, avocado, cheese, eggs. Saturated fat from meat is actually extremely bad for you. And im defiantly a meat eater.

I'm doing the Ideal Protein weight loss program and in the past 7 months I have lost just about 80 lbs. I'm feeling so much better than I did at my heaviest (311 lbs) and no longer take any medications (I was on 2 blood pressure meds)
You should do more cooking videos like the ones from a few years back.
not tryin to be a debbie downer but microwaves zap most of the nutrients out and the plastic leeches into the meal when it is heated your on a good path to success thank you for tryin I'm proud of you maybe next time you can make it from scratch?? maybe try going to sprouts market or a natural grocers just remember you don't have to eat less you just have to eat better stay happy and motivated and just do what makes you happy because thats all that matters :)
Factor has been the best for me the meals are never frozen and really good.
set one day to cooking ..scale the food on a weight and box it and freeze it ..you save a lot of money that way

i can't eat sriracha sauce without throwing up and when you started talking about microwavable steak i remembered that 1 dollar steak you had
I put siracha on everything. When I'm feeling mild it's Frank's hot sauce.
Looks to me like I could probably eat about two of these at every sitting. - The food does look pretty good; I guess you could throw in some rice.
Just wondering have you tried the 1 gallon of water a day challenge?
He ate all these meals in 27 minutes!
why don't you try to make one of those meals and tell us how much it cost you?
Great review there brother
Paleo is amazing, we even plan on creating a paleo cooking youtube channel. Coming soon!
cage free eggs? does that mean the eggs were never kept in a cage or the chicken who laid them was never kept in a cage?
The chicken was never caged.
+Chelsea Holloway he was being sarcastic
They look really good but they need to make more average meals or meals that look more appealing. Like Chucken Parm or things like that.
+jon lipton Chicken parmesan isnt quite as healthy as all these meals though, thats what ionutrition is all about, according to their website.
+Eli Hanna I know that I just meant like average means you would want to eat everyday because a lot of people don't eat things because of look and I'll be honest, these don't look to appealing.
+jon lipton a lot of people think a healthy meal means getting a diet coke with their big Mac. this isn't for them.
What size of shirt do you where

Frittata are really easy to make you could save money if you just made it yourself and I might try to make that frittata it looks good.

Kristyanna Virgona ayyy, lmao now i get it
Cant say it looks good. But Hey, you do you

Dude, the channel is called cutlery lover. You gotta use a knife to open these things man.

Fork in left hand, knife in right...dude ;)
how tf is that jambalaya it has no rice! I don't know if that's what the yanks call jambalaya but in Louisiana that's not jambalaya

+hanf022 How does microwave kill vitamins? Microwaves just heats up the liquid molecules in the food and it ends up heating up the food by shaking the water molecules at a micro level.
Vitamins aren't living so a microwave won't kill them. Vitamins don't degrade/denature easily. It's fine to cook food.
+hanf022 Heating itself destroys/converts SOME of the vitamins. So while "microwave destroys vitamins" is true, it is still more nutritious than say cooking over a stove top.

That would be more authentic yes...and probably help the diet as well.
jambalaya without rice in it?

Seems pretty good tbh. for pre packaged food it seems like it would be good since it isnt full on random chemicals.
since it sounds like you will not be doing this meal thing a suggestion would be to stay away from anything white: potato's, pasta, bread, basically anything white. portions of meat should not be any larger than the palm of your hand. good luck!!
Yeah look at raw foodists. Their muscles are small because they regulate salt, but much more powerful per ounce
yeah, these are waaaaay more expensive than the cost of going to the store to buy ingrediants. but, i get the convienance. but to say it would cost a lot more to make yourself is flat out wrong.
Pretty dainty portions! Looks like same seasonings in every dish! Too expensive for what you get!
The sounds it makes as he cuts it with the fork then talks while chomping on the "food"......im good lmao
+Cutlerylover The last one you had isn't sweet potatoes that's the turmeric
You would maybe enjoy it more if you took it out of the packaging it comes in and put it on plate you usually eat from.
Next time you microwave cooked meat try adding some water and covering, that seems to be their trick.
I could not eat that steak it is too cooked I like my beef steak blue rare to rare the other meals maybe I could do I sorta follow a modified paleo diet but not super strict
that much sauce and my bunghole will be blazing for 24hr.. hooraah
@cutlerylover regular potatoes are not paleo friendly that's why the sweet potatoes are there instead.
Way too much sriracha haha. The garlic flavor is so strong it takes over everything.
you should become a real food critic, i like what you've done here.
Had to skip over the first meal... Eggs and tomatoes are two of my most hated foods.
I did not have anything to eat and i was really hungry so this was fkn torture😂
Why not buy kale, tomatoes, and make these eggs in 5 minutes on a skillet?
Diets are what makes loosing weight tuff. Eat the same things as normal, just LESS... Worked for me after many diet plans & foods failed. :-)
It's all boils down to calories in vs calories burned.

Nice healthy food encased by plastic.
+RezzProphet Should it be encased in anything else? I don't understand the point of your comment.
+zunedog31 im assuming hes getting at the idea that most plastic wrapped foods are filled with preservatives, which i suppose is understandable
+zunedog31 good for you

hey those are actually pretty tasty
by the way the nazis invented the microwave so if that dose make you want to steer clear then idk what to tell ya
A little bit yeah cuz of all the gmo microwave food I ate when I was younger
High in fat :/ although its a good start! If i were you id just have egg whites (no yolk!) and some veggies. 0 fat literally 1/3 the calories.
