Is there a way to change the strength of the displace intensity inside the graph editor bcs my curve is :locked: or baked when I bake sound curve :l like it still moves and stuff and id like it to be more apart, like make high higher and lows lower if u get me
Under the "Key" menu there are two options to change the intensity. Either you add the F-Curve Modifier > "Envelope". The Modifier settings will be on the upper right corner of the graph editor. You add a control point then shift the max/min values to move the intensity. Or you use "unbake" and "bake" to turn the F-curves into actual keyframes, then you can select all and shift up or shift select points as you wish.
I have a way for that, i usually use a max min modifier on the curve, and set the max and minimum to control the effect, id the effect is less i put a amplitude increase or a math modifier before the max min
Hey great tutorial. I was wondering if we can render something that can react to an audio in real time? To be more precise, without having the need to load the song in blender, just an audio visualizer that reacts to the sounds in real time. Thank you so much. Keep up the great work.
Okay, how do you render the animation? Will the sound be included in a raw avi animation, or would I have to add it in post process on sony vegas or something? I'll try rendering it over the night, and see what the outcome is. It takes 8k frames to get the full song though, so it'll be denoised and low sampled.
Go to the video sequencer tab, (top left, default viewport is a ball and grid, click it and go down to video sequencer) then you'll see some tabs at the top. click add and then click sound. then navigate to your sound file and add it in. For some reason Blender doesn't render the audio using the speaker itself anymore.
Every time I bake a sound to an curve it don't start at the value I set it. It starts with 0. Is there a way I can set the starting point of the automation to an certain value? Also thx for the video :)
I followed your tutorial and everything works but it appears that the F-Curves results are as if the song was slowed over 200%. I put a 4 x 4 kick in there to test it and the f-curves spike only once every 4 kicks from the speaker. Can't figure out why this is happening.
hey bro i wanted to ask that how do you Increase the play time of that song, like the song is whole but blender is playing only a part of it. I tried to increase it with left mouse button but it didn't work. please help!
Blender 3.6 it was moved to the Channel area instead of Key in this video. For 4.0, it's gone entirely from this area. Still haven't found the new placement of it.
the pulse was so weak.. how do you turn up the strength after you've baked the sound? that way every punch in the music gives you a harder displacement?
This is such a creative visuliser :DD the design are really cool but my fav has to be the visual effects :D did you make it yourself? Where did you get the inspiration from??? :D
Usually for making things like this it just kind of comes to me, when I do face a block thought i usually pick 3 words and make something from there.

Hi mate, greate tutorial however my music and effect do not match :( exactly what you did and set the same music. somehow graphic shows more even after the music stops.
Great Video, I 've been looking to add some visuals to music I write. I'm not as talented as yourself in doing any of this type of art and the skillsets required are beyond my reach, but is Blender a software as a startinh point? Thank You
Blender is pretty easy to learn if you learn from the right places. It definitely has more than the capability to make visuals for music, so I would recommend blender for that.
this is really cool, who knew it could be so easy, my question is how would i get this to work with audio playing in a world with audio link, is that possible?
Hey there. 'e got this part down, but the effects are to small for my taste. Can we please see how to multiply the f-curve, or maybe even have a keyframeable way to multiply/amplify the amount? It goes from 0 to 1 as a value, but I need to access the full range of the displacement mod!
in graph editor add the envelope modifier then go to the starting frame and click add point on the modifier and just change the min and max values and also some things cant have decimals in their value so it will just go from 0 to 1 from 1 to 2 etc.
Great video bro💯 really straight to the point great 👌 But I ran into a problem with inserting the key frame for the strength like you send. In yours, you got a red and blue line in the graph editor when you did it but in mine no red line appeared. Please can you help me out??
I am trying to make a light's intensity react to sound. When it bakes the curve, it's just way too low to have any visible difference, and for some reason Blender won't let me change it. Ideas?
To be honest I'm not sure which one of these you have to do for the audio to be in the render but here's a few options to try: Have a speaker object in your scene playing the sound, sometimes just having the audio file in the video editor will work, but what I've done ever time is just slapped it in a separate video editor and lined up the audio and video
How would you make a visualizer similar to how Deftones did in this video? ( ua-cam.com/video/XAu3BsG8c0A/v-deo.html ) Do you think it's a 3d software like blender, or something 2d like premiere or after effects?
Looking at it, it looks 2D generated, so something like premiere or after-effects, but you still could do it in blender by just using planes and camera angles with some post processing
Short, straight to the point, good narration of tutorial and a clear view of what's happening on screen, this is how every tutorial should be!
I agree, when it was over I was actually disappointed lmao.
You thanks for this, I was lookin all over and only kept finding full scenes when all I wanted to do was make an object I already had. Thanks.
Thanks bro i never know that a free software like blender can do pretty much everything!!
Exactly what I was looking for thank you! Quick and straight to the meat and potatoes. Great video!
Alright looks like I’m gonna need to learn yet another software for my music lol
looks interesting man!
Liked and subbed. This is exactly what I was looking for to try to bring some creative ideas to life, I appreciate how straightforward this was.
That's awesome, thanks! :)
Will definitely use this in the future for musikvideos or teasers. Thank you!
The best audio vis tutorial, I have been searching for a good tutorial for soo long and yours is the best
Only 3min long. So nice. I knew this was possible but wasn't sure how. Thanks
It’s quite easy and simple.Thank u.

Simple and easy to follow! Thanks man!
No problem!
2:45 Its better to add the music track in the Video Sequencer than adding a scene speaker.
Thanks for the handy tool gee.
Extremely new to Blender. Would love to know what to do next as far as exporting what was just done to a video.
Hey did you figure it out?

Great tutorial as usual! Thanks a lot.
thanks man!!! This was super helpful
Man this was awesome, thanks!
Awesome stuff! What would be the best way to change the F-curve amplitudes if you want to make the effect more or less extreme?
you figured out how to do that?
I have a way for that, i usually use a max min modifier on the curve, and set the max and minimum to control the effect, id the effect is less i put a amplitude increase or a math modifier before the max min
unbake the f curve and scale it up on the y axis to make it taller
hey @@deep8673 - I've tried this, but can't seem to set the min or max for the F Curve modifier .... any tips? thanks
Really cool!

hey bro i wanted to ask that how do you Increase the play time of that song, like the song is whole but blender is playing only a part of it. I tried to increase it with left mouse button but it didn't work. please help!
Just increase the amount of frames in the animation timeline, i believe the default is 250
The Bake f-curves to sound option doesnt show up. Is there an addon I should have activated for this???
Blender 3.6 it was moved to the Channel area instead of Key in this video. For 4.0, it's gone entirely from this area. Still haven't found the new placement of it.
can I decrease the "volume" ...its way to heavy, mesh deformation is intense
Just adjust the strength value in the graph editor

Is there a relatively easy way to sync up the displacement f curves to the drums of a song so the mesh distorts on the beat?
