Animal Well is a Fair Game with No Surprises Or Japes [Late Game Spoilers]

was playing Animal Well by Billy Basso (phenomenal game, buy it now) and tried to get into a nook at the top of the map, but evidently Billy did not want me to experience the splendor of discovery.

Hold down on bubbles to fall faster! Lifesaver on long horizontal bubble movements!

He can only pop one bubble at a time, and you have just enough time to blow three bubbles with the improved bubble wand before he leaps out of the water, so you can just barely get out three bubbles and then jump, and you're completely safe from him popping bubbles.
Managed to get the secret friend at the end in less than 50 tries!

Just throw the frisbee and jump onto it

They seem to have the upgraded bubble wand, so they probably frisbeed from the right side and then bubbled from the left side to show the surprise and/or jape :p

In the area where the swordfish appears, there's a crevasse in the top area shrouded in shadow that would have been accessible via the advanced bubble wand (you might be able to see some vines connected to it on the ceiling). I personally love the implementation of the disc to specifically propel you to the leftmost side of the map and I used it to get to the left before trying to get to that crevasse before the swordfish attacked. The frisbee in this case wouldn't have worked considering the foliage at the top of the screen and the inability to get that high in the first place with it.

​@@catgirlthyme iirc I used the disc to get there. I shot the disc when on a bubble and jumped into it when it was coming back, then I jumped again when getting close to the entrance.

​@@catgirlthyme i did it with the frisbee, if you bounce the frisbee through the top tile of the lamp's chain on the left side, then jump on it, it will fly low enough to clear all vines, and high enough to reach the gap,
i even did it by chaining 2 frisbee jumps, bouncing off the left wall, without using the bubble wand at all.

I had no idea a swordfish was even in the game lol. i just used the disc.

Same, immediately when I saw the water i remembered hollow knight and my first thought was to dash through with the disc

I found this somewhat “early” as I got the BBwand, honestly lost count how many times I died trying the wand before realising I could use the disc 😂

i did it from the left too, spamming bbw worked
