I've been bing watching you and others! You're the best in addition to having current videos!! Thanks.
I'm a veteran and didn't receive clear instructions from the VA, hence watching all these videos.
    Again, thanks!

Thank you for your service! You deserve excellent care. I know the VA can be frustrating- many of us went through them during our training. The specialists who work at the VA tend to be affiliated with the local university and excellent. I hope you have a good experience. Thank you again!

My biggest fear is feeling painfully starving and getting a headache. 😢 can’t wait to get it over with. Going to get mine done on Friday. Hopefully drinking juice, 7up and brith helps. I think the broth with salt in it might trick my brain. 👍

You are a great teacher but I am still terrified of the entire process.

❤❤❤❤ thank you for this video I'm going to be having my first colonoscopy next month in May of 2024 and I am so nervous and unfortunately I don't have anyone to take me so I'm definitely going to rely on Uber because I don't have that support system but I really appreciate your video because it's definitely seems a little bit easier to prep I'm definitely going to buy these things early so I can have them ahead of time

I have my colonoscopy next Thursday. Wednesday is my prep day, and I will be using Clenpiq. I wasnt told anything about low fiber diet, the week prior. But i will follow that advise. I also saw a video where they said no nuts or anything with seeds the week prior, like pickles or jalapenos. The prep isnt what's scaring me, its the sedation. But another video i saw, the doctor said "if you dont wake up after surgery, then you'll be very famous in all the medical journals, because it's very rare". Still, im anxious 😫

Low fiber is definitely helpful as I’ve been at practices that did and did not emphasize this and have noted a great difference in prep quality and how effectively and efficiently I can clean up leftovers.
The drive over is statistically more risky than the sedation.

@@MarkCooperMD - Thank you, Dr. I've watched so many of your videos now and I'm good to go. I'm actually enthusiastic now. I have my housemate driving me there and back, as I did the same favor for him several years ago.

Question, What if you don't have someone you trust to take you to and from your appointment. I have no family and am a loner. Really don't trust anyone. I'd have to do a cab or uber ride. Or possibly no anesthesia. Not sure I'd be able or want to do that. I'm probably not your typical patient but there are others like me out there.

There are health systems that make use of medical transport to help people like yourself. Our private practice had a program for homeless patients. So it’s possible to accommodate all types of patients. I hope you find a way to take care of your health.

The preparation is worse than the actual colonoscopy. 🤣😂🤣😂

Very true. Rarely, people say they feel great. Which is virtually diagnostic of IBS constipation type.

Agree preparation is much harder than the procedure

Years ago I read about an eatable prep...Basically junk food/snacks (which I'd never eat irl) made of peg, sorbatol and several other enticing whatever...The items I recall being in said prep was a big pretzel, milk shake, cookie and I forget what else. I thought it was a good idea, actually. I've not been able to find anything on it and wonder if it was a wash out

I don't have someone to take me but do have someone who will pick me up.
    Hope it's okay?!

If the nurses are able to speak with the person picking you up it usually works out. However policies vary.
