Important Considerations for Rifle Mounted Flashlight Placement
Вставка

- Brief excerpt from one of our Low Light Training weekends where we were discussing the different set ups the students showed up with. Quite a few had just mounted the flashlight where ever it fit so we had a brief discussion on some of the things to consider for choosing the lights location and the why behind it.

Rich , you delve into logical territory that nobody else even things about … kudos
Hope it helps!
Love hows its in 5 min long while others are 20+ and dont cover on half the stuff u did! Great work brotha
Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you. As a lefty with a shorter quad rail this is exactly what I needed to see. I set my rifle in a very similar way, played around with it on a night shoot and found the best setup until I swap out for a longer rail.
trex lightbar would help too if your running a light with a scout mount configuration
This video helped so damn much. I think I know exactly where to put my light now
Very useful info. Thank you.
Really great - I always get tips on your videos that aren't in the many others' that I watch. Appreciate the sharing and hope to take one of your classes one day!
Thank you! I hope you do as well!
GREAT instructor.
Thanks Rich for that tip!🙏 #MN
what forward grip is that at 3:40? Looks like it holds a knife or Glock mag
I used rail that attached to my front sight works for me mid-length gun not much of shadow. On my second ar15 i am putting together will be 13.9 barrel pin weld 13 inch handgaurd probably do same no pressure switch arisaka light with e1ht 300 lumin.
I’ve always ran Surefire X300 lights at 12 o’clock. I love this set up.
lol
@@TheCamaro5 yes! Lol
That MK18 is hot!
Yes it is!
what if there was some sort of ring light that surrounds the barrel? that way there's no shadow, and the low profile means no vision impairment
I'm hardly an expert on rifles, but couldn't you install more than one flashlight, to reduce the shadow? Say, one on each side, or even a third light on the bottom? Assuming they're all slim lights that don't stick out far.
I wouldnt want more weight on the gun personally
Total bs never place a light next or in front of a brake the concussion forces will eventually destroy any light and whats to gain. If weapon drops or is used to ram or break glass your light is now broken.
Ya lights too expensive to do such a thing for sure.
Mounting a light that far forward is so wrong it’s funny. 😂 I also like that he’s created a fork at the end of the rifle to catch on any tree/branch/etc. great plan … NOT
Stop buying cheap lights, this ain’t nothing new
In cqb situation, the wall will cast shadow, and u cant see what u shoot if u mount flashlight the opposite side of your shooting hand
All these combat training professionals there should be no ternary! But there is
And it’s all a joke unless you want to act!
What are you even saying
