They didn't even change the flower decorations for the weddings. That's why they exchanged the wilted flower in the arrangement before Eldoie's wedding. It was hanging since the wedding the day before. And the flower garlands are the same when Elodie crashes the last wedding. The wilted flower surely symbolized that one girl has already been sacrificed.

I think Eloise was the other girl that was sacrificed right before her, the one she saw in the tower, and she got them mixed up

@@user-nl8xo2xq4w it all make sense to make up names for someone who doesn't really care. Specially that scene where she was pissed with the stepmother. And why she even have to remember the other girl's name, afterall, they are just the sacrificial lambs.
If people aren't talking about this movie, they definitely should be! Predictable, but if it played out any other way it wouldn't have worked and doesn't make it less fun. I was hoping one of my favorite reactors would cover this and you're the first!

Sometimes I love a predictable film. Especially one that is so beautiful and has put so much time and effort into the costume and set design. Its visually appealing and the predictability just allows you to take in the beauty without being distracted by complex plot😂
I agree! I found it very predictable but I still enjoyed it and I loved the parallels they did. Idk what I would change in the story to make it less predictable but still satisfying apart from the trailer since it gave a lot of the plot away, probably would have chosen scenes to mislead a bit like our MC was
Edit: I had a bit of a think, I would have had Eloise still be alive when Elody got down there and had them work together a bit, form a bond (maybe make it gay) then either they both escape or Eloise dies via sacrifice instead of the dad and he gets confronted later. It’s still predictable but I think it would have been a bit more interesting to see Elody be able to bounce off another character other than the dragon.
I saw the trailer, and somehow, I thought she would fall in love with the dragon
The costumes in this movie were amazing! Elodie used every shred of her dress to get out of there. That’s great costuming 💅

I LOVE when costume designers use the state of a characters dress to show her struggle to survive, I ate it up in Ready or Not and I ate it up here too
I do love how most depictions of dragons refer to them as "she" or "her"; to a king with an army the scariest thing is a female hoarding more wealth than him and no fear or regard for his power or presence.

Millie Bobby Brown is just going through life and being absolutely fabulous. Good for her!
I just want to point out the bravery, courage and badassness of the other princesses who made it through each stage, of that hell cave. Even the princess who was sacrificed the day before Elodie, who was only able to run and then be burned. I mean she still ran, she didn’t cower in front of the dragon, she did her best to get away after being betrayed and thrown into a a freakin cavern! And Victoria was amazing to almost get out, plus leaving clues to try and help anyone who came after her. Plus figuring out that the royals had lied about why the princesses had been sacrificed. It’s really nice to have a movie full of intelligent (even the snake of a queen), brave women.
The dragon lost 3 daughters and eventually gained 3 daughters back in Elodie, Floria, and the Stepmother.

One of my favourite parts is when the castle is buring down and Henry is just accepting his fate he's now free he knows he's done wrong
I kinda feel a little bad for the prince because you can clearly tell he doesn't like doing it but is always guilt tripped into doing it in the name of his people from the mom and force into it. You can tell he actually connected with Elodie and liked her but whenever the future was brought up he got sad knowing her fate. I think he accepted his fate because he knew he did wrong but also because he just wanted everything to be over and didn't like what he had to do.

@@MaidenOfHusbands could be he was doing what he could and planning to end the cycle once he was king. But still knew it was wrong for those girls to die in the meantime, which is why he accepted his fate in the end.
@mamaseesa3122 Yeah, probably tbh. I just said my assumption because of what he specifically said to Elodie when she teamed up with the dragon and was about to kill everyone at the castle. He was doing it until he could finally marry who he wants. He didn't phrase it in a sense that you could probably get all different types of assumptions, he literally phrased it as in, "I will be able to marry whoever I want after this is over."
When the step parent cares more for the kid than the biological parent...
I love love love that Shohreh played the voice of the dragon. She has such an iconic voice, and getting to see or hear her in any role is honestly such a treat.
it's so crazy that one of the things i saw dudes complaining about with this movie was "she's got zero survival skills" so sorry she didn't grow up learning how to RUN FROM A DRAGON???? also she survived and saved her sister so clearly she does have those skills lmao.
i was really setting myself up for disappointment when she started fighting back bc i didn't want the dragon to die and it really looked like she was about to but i loved the moment where elodie was like "no bitch you fight back too" and healed her and then both of them teamed up like a pair of bad bitches and burned everything down!!! iktr!!
i think this was one of my favorite dragons in cinema (after toothless, of course). i'm so bummed netflix is a little bitch and refuses to release their movies in theater because this is exactly the kind of movie we need more of in theaters. we used to have this genre all the time!!! make more and fill the theaters let's go!!
Finally, I’ve been waiting for people to react to this, but everyone else doesn’t do it as good as you this has become one of my favorite movies I watched it three times in one day.

As an answer to your question at 28:31 Brad, I think the dragon is not spitting fire in this instance because her fire breathing doesn't spray like gas but, as you remarked yourself earlier in the movie, like water so if she uses it, it will come back down and burn her too, therefore she doesn't! (Love your videos)

exactly how I felt they didn't build her character up as much as they could have like how is she so strong or how her mother died I felt like the whole scene where she called her step mother could have been more impactful if they'd have shown her relationship with her mother and her dying so the resentment towards her step mother was there and like the dragon killing generations of women like it could have been so much more but it felt like writers weren't bothered and just did the minimum
I live for how the definition of classic cinderella went from 'a prince will save me' to 'don't need no prince' haha

I flipping loved this movie. I saw it a few days ago. It was a random, "lets check this one out, why not?" - when I saw it on the Netflix new releases. Had no idea it was a thing until I saw it lol. I didn't even know it had gotten a trailer.
Also, they were sacrificing girls every generation, three girls per generation. So there was only one girl before Elodie, the one she saw in the other tower, and the girl Elodie spoke to at the end was to be the third. Before that, there were three girls at Henry's father's generation (probably in the same way as with Henry- he'd toss the girl down over the bridge)
I'm curious as to whether or not there were any true royal girls thrown down there at any time... But this is a few hundreds of years pased, not all one generation.... Sry if you knew this, it's just the way you worded it at parts makes it seem like...ah... you didn't... also... loved your reaction!

This movie was amazing i loved it but your reaction was even more!! The details i loved in the movie were when they replaced the dying rose with a new one because the first wedding happened the day before. Also a good symbolism of the girls as the rose, one dead replaced immediately with another one. The other beautiful part i liked is when she picked the shiny Bug after it healed her scars and said "I'm deeply sorry that i underestimate you" in my opinion that summarize her whole arch in the movie. Anyway great reaction as always, you're the best!!!
