I do agree with Brad’s points about the Royal Family, as I’ve studied the history of the Royals and Princess Margaret was in a similar situation following on from the Abdication crisis of 1936, although Princess Margaret’s situation happened after 1952 - the Royals position and divorce and Marriage seems even more bizarre when one goes further back into history, to the time of the Tudors & Henry VIII and his obsession with having a male heir (which Ann Boleyn’s failure to produce a male heir was the real reason for her execution) where Henry even set up the Church of England after the Pope refused to grant him a divorce from Catherine of Aragon for failing to produce a male heir, yet after his only male heir was a sickly boy who died at barely 18, he had to decide the line of succession - in the centuries since, after the death of Elizabeth I in 1601 (the last Tudor queen) James I of Scotland took the English Throne after his mother Mary Stuart Queen of Scots was executed - yet, in later centuries they banned Catholics from taking the throne in Protestant England and banned royal divorces since the 1700’s, especially before and after Queen Victoria took the throne in 1837 - 1901 and beyond which continued through 1936 with the Wallis Simpson Abdication affair
Alex calls Henry “baby” a lot more in the books. It makes Henry melt. When they’re on the stairs, Alex is talking to Henry and he says something like “it’s okay, baby, I’m here”

Hey so to clarify the argument, the movie simplified the book A LOT and took out a lot of parts that made Alex and henry’s relationship more complex and interesting, mainly how deep the control of the crown goes into Henry’s life. After his father died when he was young his mother went completely catatonic and hasn’t been seen by the world ever since, Bea his sister fell into drug addiction and Philip his older brother even as the stuck up he is is going to carry the throne and its responsibilities. Henry is in the middle of all of this dealing with the fact that he will never live the life that he wanted, an anonymous ordinary life with a man he loves. When he sees Alex at their first meeting in the Brazil olympics (not a climate conference, Im brazilian so Im salty about that change) he instantly falls for him, and is terrified of it because he can’t let him self fall because he will never be able to have that future. So he tells Shaan to “get me out of here.” Henry has been carrying this crush for a long time so when he kisses Alex for the first time he feels like he failed, he did the one thing he wasn’t suppose to do, fall in love. After that as they begin their friends with benefits thing Henry hopes that it will be just that, he can have a part of Alex live that joy but not burden Alex with the fact that they will never be able to be together. He NEVER expected Alex to fall in love with him, that’s the breaking point, Alex is presenting him with everything he ever wanted but he can’t have it. So he runs away. Alex loves politics, he isin’t as affected by the public eye because he wasn’t born into it, he didn’t have to spend his entire childhood and teens surrounded by cameras watching his every move. Henry sees it two ways, either he lives a miserable life with the crown where he is scrutinized till he dies, or he goes with Alex and is still scrutinized for a life in politics, he sees both as prisons. He’s not saying that it is a prison to Alex because Alex likes that life, but Henry doesn’t. Here’s a small part of the argument in the book: “Oh my God,” Alex groans. “So, what, was this all never going to be anything real to you?” And Henry snaps. “You really are a complete idiot if you believe that,” Henry hisses, the note balled in his fist. “When have I ever, since the first instant I touched you, pretended to be anything less than in love with you? Are you so fucking self-absorbed as to think this is about you and whether or not I love you, rather than the fact I’m an heir to the fucking throne? You at least have the option to not choose a public life eventually, but I will live and die in these palaces and in this family, so don’t you dare come to me and question if I love you when it’s the thing that could bloody well ruin everything.” Alex doesn’t speak, doesn’t move, doesn’t breathe, his feet rooted to the spot. Henry isn’t looking at him, but staring at a point on the mantel somewhere, tugging at his own hair in exasperation. “It was never supposed to be an issue,” he goes on, his voice hoarse. “I thought I could have some part of you, and just never say it, and you’d never have to know, and one day you’d get tired of me and leave, because I’m-” He stops short, and one shaking hand moves through the air in front of him in a helpless sort of gesture at everything about himself. “I never thought I’d be stood here faced with a choice I can’t make, because I never … I never imagined you would love me back.”
Only correction, in the book he tells Shaan to “get rid of him” in relation to Alex. It is much harsher than the “I need to get out of here” in the movie. But I also completely understand. I adore Henry and will die defending him!
@@crystalpritchard5065 yeah your right! It makes more sense in the book why Alex is angry at him and also the fact that they just cut out the ENTIRE explanation that Alex has for being angry at Henry is infuriating. NO IT WAS NOT JUST THE FIRST MEETING!!!
This is amazing and sums up A LOT of my issues with this movie. the only thing I would add is that I HATE MIGUEL I AM SO MAD THAT THEY CUT RAF AND JUNE
I feel like the argument when you read it in the book just hits so much harder based on how everything is described and I was like bawling my eyes out when I read that part in the book 😭😭😭😭
Ha...Zahra insists and Alex took it to heart.😅 Loved that scene in the hotel room. Zahra runs to the suite and searches für the 'little missy'....and then, she's facing Henry in the closet...and how he said "good morning"! 😄 And that question:" how long is this been going on?" And her reaction of the answer...as she realized...she's responsible for that result. 😂😂👍
i love how brad kept making every interaction of theirs more vulgar than it was and then when the characters took it there, brad acted all flustered lolol
I like how Brad was all "Artsy-fartsy shots" and "Why are you just stood there? Come on, WRITHE up against me!" Then when they fall into bed, he's, "What a minute, guys, wait a minute...."🤣
I am still very mad that they gave the eyelashes line to fucking Miguel. I also understand that it would have been hard to portray considering Henry says that while Alex is blowing him... My take, he should have said it after that little "dear God he's gonna be the death of me" look when he leaves Alex's bedroom after their first proper hookup, it would have fitted PERFECTLY in that moment.
Thing is, he wouldn't mind being disowned and turning into a non-public figure, but if he does that with Alex, then he will have to continue being a public figure. That is the "changing one prison for another"
Exactly! He doesn't see a way for them to just be, because he is a royal and Alex is in politics and wants to stay in politics, So no matter what, they'll still be scrutinized and that's what Henry doesn't want. He tried so hard to be the "Prince of England's Heart", and he is so scared of the hate he could get if his relationship with Alex goes public... It is very sad. He sees Alex with having "nothing to lose" because going public wouldn't affect him that much after his mother's campaign is done. That quote, "My life is the crown, and yours is Politics, and i will not trade one prison for another" says it all really.
Im sure he doesnt want to mind but henry isnt as emotionally stable when it comes to alex. He has anxiety, he runs away whenever things get too real, etc. he would not have been able to handle the back lash. I mean look how he handled the emails being leaked and people talking about him and alex. He did not handle it as well as alex did.
He definitely would not have been able to handle being disowned. Because its not like they cared that he was gay. It was the media/peoples reaction that they were worried about.
In the book we get more depth into henrys character, he is clincally depressed, he lost his favourite person in the world -the only one who understood him - at a very young age, his mother withdrew from her kids leaving him practically an orphan, Bea (sorry for the spoiler) turned to drugs , Philllip hated who Henry was and his grandmother was as homophobic and racist as they come, they forced this uptight personality on him. Henry hated to be a public figure - hence the trading one prison for another - That's why he is not as willing as to be disowned because that would mean he will loose everything he was trained and abused for, that's why he has big feelings, that's why he is "dramatic"
The part of the book where Bea explains Henry’s trauma to Alex always makes me cry. Or when he told Alex he was starting to believe he deserved more than he was willing to settle for 😭😭😭. His character in the book is everything, but I do think Nicholas Galitzine did a good job portraying Henry’s depth.
Yeah as much as I love the movie the book really dives into why Henry feels this way and it’s literally like a trauma response and I feel like the book portrays that so much better because in the book we get so much more context and information :(
Nicholas Galitizine played a prince in the Amazon Cinderella musical movie which was filmed before RWRB and sang another Queen song, this time it was "Somebody To Love". So two Queen songs in two different movies he sang.
YES this movie was cheesy and sexy and cliche but it was also touching and emotional like I LIVE!!! Love the message about coming out and privacy. Love their acting and chemistry!
I wanted to see your reaction to his mom giving him the talk about protection. The way she straight up dives into prep and says, "If you're bottoming..." before talking about HPV shots is GOLD.😂😂😂
35:28 I think there is something you didn’t hear/pay much attention on Alex’s love declaration at the lake and I think that’s what triggers Henry in the movie (on the books things are much more detailed and complex). Alex tells Henry that after the election he wants to go back to Texas with Henry and hold hands while walking in Austin. So Alex WANTS to go public. He’s even dreaming of it. While Henry, from the beginning, said he couldn’t. So after hearing that, it was not just “let’s continue what we are doing loving eachother”, it was “he wants something from me that I can’t give, because even if we go public and I am desowned, we’ll still be under pressure and stalked by the media since Alex wants to go into politics”
fun fact : rwrb movie was shot by director matthew lopez who is himself a gay man so he was extremely cautious about depicting queer relationship in a healthy light while also maintaining an essence of personal struggle...additionally he talked about shooting the sex scenes in the movie in several intvs and how he wanted to depict the paris sex scene in a more sensual/romantic light than as you said "swiftly" as usually queer sex scenes are either done too fast or are void of much emotions
From what I heard Alex and Henry's actors were very involved in every discussion he had about it to. Which according to them helped it be so much less awkward when it came time to shoot it.
laughed so hard when you said henry is awful at singing when in reality the actor who plays him nicholas galitzine is a singer as well and sounds phenomenal LMAO 😭
Lol 😂 in the book henry is REALLY drunk so maybe the actor was intentionally a little off key (like jensen ackles singing off key as dean in supernatural when he can sing SO good) to show you the character was sloshed AF? 😁
Henry was tired of the spotlight being on him and the pressure to be a figurehead. His dream was to be an anonymous person in the world, where his decisions didn’t effect so many people. He was saying he didn’t want to trade one prison (the spotlight of the royal family) for another (Alex’s dreams of being in politics) and said that it doesn’t cost Alex anything because his mom would be running for her second term, and after that there’s no pressure to uphold any illusion in front of the press to get another election. Henry was born and raised within the political spectrum and it’s pretty apparent that his future would have been that forever and every decision he’d ever made would have consequences, unlike Alex who technically didn’t have to worry about things like that after his mom’s election. **Obviously this is just the movie interpretation, the book gives Henry a lot of other motivations for why he acts like he does.
Henry was already feeling Alex out after they banged when he was asking if he was committed to politics, Had it not been for Alex's answer he might have said "I love you first".
Hola!! Además de ser un guiño para los que leímos el libro, porque en el, Alex usa el baby para desarmar (derretir) a Henry y lo usa constantemente. Saludos❤
@@MARTITA9205that’s exactly what I was going to say! That part was special to me in the sense that I understood its importance in their relationship because of the book!
You being shocked at the sex and the language in the movie is so funny, because in the book there is so much more sex and Alex and Henry (mostly Alex) swear all the time
Ikr? Still I was surprised that in the UK and US this movie is apparently rated 18... On German Prime it's listed as 12, which I think is fair as they really toned down the swearing and there was like no nudity, only 3 shirtless scenes Of course the book may be more of a mature read, but this movie?
I love how Brad is complaining how the love scenes are taking too long but then goes on to complain how they move on too fast :D...I'm cry laughing over here
35:29 well alex and henry's situation are a lot different. alex was born and raised in a supportive family and he never had to hide who he is in front of them, but for henry....the only support that he had was from his sister and his dad who passed away very early on in his life (his dad made his life a lot easier and he loved him that's why his death affected him sm) henry was constantly limited from both the king and philip and he also had a nonpresent mom (i'm trying not to spoil the book just make points from the movie lmao) he always quote "wanted to be an anonymous person in the world" because he had enough of all this bs. and from his pov alex's political lifestyle could not provide him that cuz he would still be in the spotlight (that's why he asked if he had any doubts about wanting to be a politician their first night cuz he sorta wanted to gain some hope that maybe he can be with him in the future) henry's character arc is generally really interesting and complicated ( as well as alex's ofc) and i think reading the book + the extra chapter from him pov can really help you understand it better
I think all that was quite obvious in the movie, but likely more fleshed out in the books. And the mental part of hearing all your life who you have to be vs only getting those limitations as an adult. That will impact how "stuck" you feel, if you've never known anything else.
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca yess exactly i think the movie did a great job with it but the book was obv more detailed. alex's mom became president when he was 18 but henry had to live through all of this + personal trauma from the very beginning and it obv affected him in more ways than not (alex obv had trauma too before due to you know what , their situations were different but also similar in a way)
Even though the movie is so very pared down from the book, it feels like they went out of their way to highlight the difference between the families. Alex has an entire supportive family, and Henry had Pez and Bea.
as for this: this is all about Henry's closet. Alex was never in the closet because he was clueless that he was really into guys. Alex is, in fact, Prince Charming rescuing Henry from his closet and allowing him to love which he didn't think possible. Henry was content to have a fling even though he was madly in love with Alex because he never thought that Alex would love him back. that's why the "drowning" scene is so important: it's the hopelessness of his closet.
The way hes gagged about some of the writing, i know hes never read fanfic in his life 😂 The book is written by a person who wrote fanfiction for years, and that type of language and writing is very common. Loved this reaction, made me laugh so hard 😂
@@PizzaMadeMeFat I had a boyfriend who grew up reading fanfiction and believed gays were really supposed to be like that. Most representation of gays is probably bad.
@@seto749 so you admit you’ve never read fanfiction? What exactly do you mean when you say “he believed gays were really supposed to be like that” cause I read fanfiction and I’ve only seen 2 things when it comes to gay fanfics either it’s romantic and treated like any other relationship or it’s really crazy smut so idk what your bf was reading but it might’ve just been some of that crazy smut
@36:00 When Henry said it costs Alex nothing, he was talking about their families. Alex’s family supports him, but Henry’s already been told by his family to stay in the closet. So for him, coming out means potentially losing his family and home (And his job too? because being a Prince is like his job I guess?). I think some people aren’t as eager to disown their families as you are 😂
I don't how I have never found you before but I love you! I am a 67yo grandma, married for 45 years with children and grandchildren, that loves BL movies and series. I was hesitant about this movie at first but after watching for about 20 minutes and seeing the chemistry between the 2 I fell in love with them and the movie. The story was quite good and the acting was also very good. I loved the supporting cast, especially Alex's, they are so funny. When watching gay movies or series I prefer guys over girls and have watched quite a few in the past. My favorite genre is actually Thai BLs. The stories are so good and the acting is amazing. Yes, you must watch with captions, but the love scenes make parts of my flutter. These guys are so passionate and hot when bedroom scenes are shown. My favorites are actors named Zee Pruk and Nunew Chawarin from the series Cutie Pie and Mile Phakphum and Apo Nattawin from the series KinnPorsche. The two couples are truly amazing. I can't wait to watch more of your video reactions. As for loving who you want, I am 100% for that. My daughter and her ex had a daughter before marriage and began planning their wedding. After a year they had another daughter and we all knew that he only got married because he didn't want to come out to his grandmother who is very religious. But after 2 1.2 years oSo, life is strange, but love who you want!!
I’m a 67 yo grandmother also. I think we feel so strongly because we would want our children and grandchildren to be able to live their lives with joy, and not fear.
this movie changed my brain chemistry, i wasn’t expecting much from it but goddamn, i was crying tears of joy and just appreciating the fact love exists bc of this movie 😭
It took me two hours to finish watching this review because I rewound so many parts so many times and was doubled over laughing with your reactions and I love you and there's nothing you can do about it!
This is Brad at his most outrageous. His reactions to the shocking parts of the film made this reaction video his best reaction video ever. “He pushed it in” makes me laugh every single time I see it. Great job, Brad.
36:23 yeah you should have more sympathy ngl I honestly never saw Henry as being “melodramatic” in this scene. He’s grown up with the ideology that any desire he seeks is selfish if it’s not to do with the crown. Yes, having royalty is stupid, but that’s all he knows, his life is the monarchy and the spotlight. It’s been drilled into his brain by his family and their royal history that no one will ever except him as gay, and his love for Alex betrays everything his family expects of him. This is hardly my place to say, but it is well known how terrifying it can be for gay people to come out (it shouldn’t be but it is), but especially when they know their family will not accept them. Imagine that, but it’s his entire family, the monarchy, the tabloids, the country, perhaps even the world, that doesn’t accept him. Of course, this doesn’t happen, he gets more or less accepted for who he is, but he has been told since he was a child that he won’t be. Love you Brad but leave poor Henry alone
SO excited to watch Brad!! I've already watched this movie 4 times and it has very quickly become a comfort movie for me! Can't wait to see your reaction!
When you said ‘been told what to do by this old white round man’ I nearly died 😂 it’s Stephen fry! Respect must be shown to Stephen fry! He was also the narrator in season 1 of Heartstopper. Love him so much!
I was so surprised not to see recognition and commentary on the irony/intent of casting such an icon as his grandfather. Left me a bit gobsmacked, tbh! 😅
I am literally giggling and kicking my feet watching this because your reactions are HILARIOUS and take me straight back to my first time watching it :‘) you’re also incredibly funny and this video is edited soooooooo well
Your shocked reactions are everything I‘m dying over here But also this shows how insanely underrepresented queer couples are in media. I‘ve seen movies like this with heterosexual couples a thousand times but having queer centered romances coming out is soooo awesome
7:40 It was the Rio Olympics, and what Henry REALLY said was, "Can you get rid of him?" Henry's explanation is mostly true to the book, with a few details left out: His father was a James Bond actor, and they were specifically visiting the cancer ward, in his honor.
That invisible string bit?? So in the book Henry is BIG into literature and gay theory in History and Lit. Alex is paraphrasing Rochester’s declaration of love from Jane Eyre
I'm sorry but that ''baby'' part and the hug on the stairs was the highlight for me..at least for me it wasn't cringe its just my opinion. However thanks for the reaction it was fun watching you drool over Alex lol
The set-up in the broomcloset of the hospital KILLED me. Like what was the plan? There's a shooter in the building and you're just gonna throw them in a broomcloset and leave them there all alone? Also can we talk about how WILD it is to stage a whole shooter-in-a-CHILDRENS-hospital situation just to have an excuse to get our two main characters to talk about their feelings? 😂😂
The way my jaw d r o p p e d when I heard them shout "shots fired" like IN A CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL??? Too close to home when in America schools get shot up every other week
It wasn’t a shooter, the situation is a joke on how the secret service is all paranoid to think there will be a shooter there when it was just a kid with fireworks
I finally watched the movie today and it was what I needed on a Saturday morning. Also your editing is incredible as always. And seeing Sarah Shahi, however brief, is always a treat
This reminds me so much of this situation here in the Netherlands. People were all speculating about princess Amalia’s sexuality and if she would still be able to inherit the throne if she’d be bisexual or lesbian. I think she was 18 when that happened and it made me realise how f’ed up her situation is.

#1, we gays are starving for a “quality” movie (ie, made in a quality manner for the mainstream public) and this is one of those rare movies. #2, it’s almost SILLY romantic, and I say BRING IT ON! We gays on the whole are a “silly romantic” bunch. #3, it involves two masculine, beautiful men with great bodies, and that’s rare too. And #4, there is actually a quality script and plot to the movie. Yeah, it wasn’t a deep, philosophical movie, and that’s fine-- I’m here to be entertained!

they're supposed to be 21-22. also, in the books it goes into much more detail on henry's backstory and how he feels controlled and threatened by the monarchy and their power.
We can never have enough happy endings for us! Usually anything queer ends in some form of tragedy or sadness. Loved your reaction I screamed too at the intimate scenes lol.
Agreed! I feel like queer love stories are way more interesting and more heartwarming even than heterosexual love stories that we've seen _everywhere_ since forever. More queer love stories, please! And ones that do _not_ end in tragedy but are happy and enduring for a change, thank you.
Yess Just please not the level of cringe of that netflix movie, i think it was single all the way, it was okay then suddenly the protagonist had a dance choreo with the kids to britney spears because the writers were like "britney, gay people like her right?" I don't even remember if it was Brittany or with the kids because i closed the movie 5 seconds into that shit
I loved this movie, but I read the book first. There are many answers to your questions in the book that they had to elide for brevities sake. Also, I loved some of the cringe moments, especially the one where Henry tells Alex, "Hurry." And that hug! Oh, Baby! Also, I love pet names. LOL! The book also goes a bit further in the timeline. The consort photo shoot is not to be missed. 😍
Okay, first, bloodshot diva, I think that’s what you were saying, and second, I loved watching your reaction to the movie! Maybe even more than just watching the movie alone. Everything you added was gold! Thanks for such an enjoyable video!
Aw, I loved it when he called him baby and Henry's reaction. It made me so happy. But I def thought other parts were cringey. But it's okay. We need cringey gay romance. God knows we've had enough cringey straight romance.
The fact that Nicholas Galitzine managed to sing badly in the karaoke scene is amazing considering how good he actually is
He Is great!!!, AND actually a great singer
so true!!
He is still not bad at all. Prince, what else 😂😂😂
I know when I first saw this I was like is this actually Nicholas sing
YES! If you CAN sing, it's a challenge to sing off-key! And YES, Nick Galatzine is a fantastic singer!
This is just a wholesome corny cringy romance, that often lacks in queer media and I love it 💜

You at least have the option to not choose a public life eventually, but I will live and die in these palaces and in this family, so don’t you dare come to me and question if I love you when it’s the thing that could bloody well ruin everything.”
Alex doesn’t speak, doesn’t move, doesn’t breathe, his feet rooted to the spot.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Stephen Fry as the homophobe king is SUCH a comedic move considering he‘s like the most gay actor of his age😂
Right!!!😂
That’s iconic! I’m pretty sure the actor who plays Philip is also queer
This movie went big on representation, not just with the characters. They also got a stellar very lgbtq+/great ally cast and crew
@@malakelabbadi04 The actress who plays the British PM is also gay, married to a woman.
And the actress that plays Amy is trans.
Zahra told Alex "you better act like the sun shines out of his ass and you have a vitamin D deficiency" and he took that literally
Ha...Zahra insists and Alex took it to heart.😅 Loved that scene in the hotel room. Zahra runs to the suite and searches für the 'little missy'....and then, she's facing Henry in the closet...and how he said "good morning"! 😄
And that question:" how long is this been going on?" And her reaction of the answer...as she realized...she's responsible for that result. 😂😂👍
i love how brad kept making every interaction of theirs more vulgar than it was and then when the characters took it there, brad acted all flustered lolol
Pounding my gash send me
“His eyelashes are really good aren’t they?” Literally what I kept thinking at different points throughout the film too😂
I love how Brad's face got redder and redder as the movie went on😂😂😂
I like how Brad was all "Artsy-fartsy shots" and "Why are you just stood there? Come on, WRITHE up against me!" Then when they fall into bed, he's, "What a minute, guys, wait a minute...."🤣
FLUSTERED 😂
Yes that was so cute. LOL
The thirst for Taylor (the guy who plays Alex) is so real 🤣 he really is a gorgeous man and his eyelashes are unreal 😍
Yes I can totally relate to that
I am still very mad that they gave the eyelashes line to fucking Miguel. I also understand that it would have been hard to portray considering Henry says that while Alex is blowing him... My take, he should have said it after that little "dear God he's gonna be the death of me" look when he leaves Alex's bedroom after their first proper hookup, it would have fitted PERFECTLY in that moment.
@@LaManelle THIS and also the fact that they didn't have June in the movie, I will never forgive them for 😩
He looks like young Al Pacino (in a good way)
all his reaction were literally me. thirsting for that man everyday.
That quote, "My life is the crown, and yours is Politics, and i will not trade one prison for another" says it all really.
yeah but its not that simple.
“The people I date don’t interest me and the people that interest me, I can’t date” is everything I love that line so much omg 🥺
"Gays, tho, innit?" 😆 I am deceased. And I'm obsessed with watching this reaction.
Henry just needs a big cuddle 🥰🥰🥰
The part of the book where Bea explains Henry’s trauma to Alex always makes me cry. Or when he told Alex he was starting to believe he deserved more than he was willing to settle for 😭😭😭.
His character in the book is everything, but I do think Nicholas Galitzine did a good job portraying Henry’s depth.
@@crystalpritchard5065 plus Nicholas is absolutely gorgeous too 😍😍😍
Yeah as much as I love the movie the book really dives into why Henry feels this way and it’s literally like a trauma response and I feel like the book portrays that so much better because in the book we get so much more context and information :(
This should have been a mini series so we can all see what Henry's life was!😭😭😭
lmao the fact that the actor who plays henry is actually a really good singer but everyone hates the karaoke is so funny to me
Nick toned down his singing skill because Henry was supposed to be ‘quite bad’ singer😅.

Nicholas Galitizine played a prince in the Amazon Cinderella musical movie which was filmed before RWRB and sang another Queen song, this time it was "Somebody To Love". So two Queen songs in two different movies he sang.

I loved this line: "we're not fucking around, we're just fucking" 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣
18:10 The little seagul popping up made me absolutely lose it 😂

Lmaoo yes
laughed so hard when you said henry is awful at singing when in reality the actor who plays him nicholas galitzine is a singer as well and sounds phenomenal LMAO 😭
Lol 😂 in the book henry is REALLY drunk so maybe the actor was intentionally a little off key (like jensen ackles singing off key as dean in supernatural when he can sing SO good) to show you the character was sloshed AF? 😁
It was definitely intended
The edits were so on point with this. Couldn't stop laughing!! 🤣
This was the BEST reaction video for this movie that I've seen!!!
❤️❤️
**Obviously this is just the movie interpretation, the book gives Henry a lot of other motivations for why he acts like he does.
thank you!! exactly
Henry was already feeling Alex out after they banged when he was asking if he was committed to politics, Had it not been for Alex's answer he might have said "I love you first".
No way u thought that the "baby" scene was cringe that's wild I LOVED THAT SCENE
He just doesn't like pet names overall lol
You being shocked at the sex and the language in the movie is so funny, because in the book there is so much more sex and Alex and Henry (mostly Alex) swear all the time
Ikr? Still I was surprised that in the UK and US this movie is apparently rated 18...
On German Prime it's listed as 12, which I think is fair as they really toned down the swearing and there was like no nudity, only 3 shirtless scenes
Of course the book may be more of a mature read, but this movie?
@@miridroge6043 das dachte ich mir auch 🤷♀️

“just to put it out there” then brad says “i’ll put it in” then starts literally dying had me choking
35:29
well alex and henry's situation are a lot different. alex was born and raised in a supportive family and he never had to hide who he is in front of them, but for henry....the only support that he had was from his sister and his dad who passed away very early on in his life (his dad made his life a lot easier and he loved him that's why his death affected him sm)
henry was constantly limited from both the king and philip and he also had a nonpresent mom (i'm trying not to spoil the book just make points from the movie lmao)
he always quote "wanted to be an anonymous person in the world" because he had enough of all this bs. and from his pov alex's political lifestyle could not provide him that cuz he would still be in the spotlight (that's why he asked if he had any doubts about wanting to be a politician their first night cuz he sorta wanted to gain some hope that maybe he can be with him in the future)
henry's character arc is generally really interesting and complicated ( as well as alex's ofc) and i think reading the book + the extra chapter from him pov can really help you understand it better
Alex has an entire supportive family, and Henry had Pez and Bea.
the way nicholas galitzine is actually a wonderful singer but he just purposefully sang terribly for the movie 💔💔
ikrr he still ate that tho
Also this takes talent lmao, whe m you can sing well it's extremely difficult to sing badly
@@larrystowing2007fr I could hear his proper voice in there slipping through even when he was trying to be bad haha
as for this: this is all about Henry's closet.
Ohhh love this view! 💜💙💖

@36:00 When Henry said it costs Alex nothing, he was talking about their families. Alex’s family supports him, but Henry’s already been told by his family to stay in the closet. So for him, coming out means potentially losing his family and home (And his job too? because being a Prince is like his job I guess?). I think some people aren’t as eager to disown their families as you are 😂
Relax, he's joking.
not even just that but being disowned by the royal family is huge. look at harry and meghan 😢
36:23 yeah you should have more sympathy ngl
I honestly never saw Henry as being “melodramatic” in this scene.

7:40 It was the Rio Olympics, and what Henry REALLY said was, "Can you get rid of him?"
Henry's explanation is mostly true to the book, with a few details left out:
His father was a James Bond actor, and they were specifically visiting the cancer ward, in his honor.
That invisible string bit?? So in the book Henry is BIG into literature and gay theory in History and Lit. Alex is paraphrasing Rochester’s declaration of love from Jane Eyre

The set-up in the broomcloset of the hospital KILLED me. Like what was the plan? There's a shooter in the building and you're just gonna throw them in a broomcloset and leave them there all alone?
