The white noise ideacwas brilliant 👏.
New cubase user here. Trying to get a good feel for using it. Learning to be fluent in a new DAW is a bit painful lol.

Hi Mr. Lopaz. You are working those percussions with the FX Modulator. I don’t really understand how to use the SideChaining thing but, you obviously do know what you are doing and you make the beats and drums work really well. I’d like to know how you have learned all of these things in so many DAW’s. You are really really good at this stuff. Are you a recording engineer? If not, you should be. I am totally impressed with your abilities. I enjoy watching you work your talents and your magic. Continued success young man. Thank you for this entertainment today and the lesson. Have a great day.

Hello, is there also the same limited SpectraLayers in cubase 12 as in the cubase 11 version or is there SpectraLayers more extensive in cubase 12?

Hi Craig, what do you loose if you upgrade from 11?

    • @hazmatproduction4562

Old instruments Prologue, Spector & Mystic, as well as LoopMash are discontinued. LoopMash library is still available so anyone who used those sounds in a project won’t lose them, but the instrument itself is no more.
Also no VST2 support at all on M1 Mac. Still able to use them on windows though
Generic remote has been replaced with a new midi device mapping system. Havent checked it out because my Nektar P6 is pre mapped.
I believe that’s everything that’s been removed or soft replaced since v11

Really wanna use this plugin having just upgraded but can't. Can anyone tell me if FX modulator works ok on M1 Mac? As I can see the plugin in my plugin manager but can't seem to find it to use on an insert?

Do you have custom plugin folders? If so you may have to drag it in from the plugin manager 🤷🏻‍♂️

is this true - a downgrade ? any new vsts instead ? out of the CuBase 12 Release Notes
    - "### Due to technical reasons the following plug-ins and technologies have been removed from the product scope
VST instruments: Mystic, Prologue, Specter, LoopMash are no longer included in the factory content of Cubase."
    - no more VST2 support

    WARNING TO ALL MAC USERS!!!!!!
Cubase 12 won't install unless you use OS X 10.15! Don't waste your money upgrading if you run a lower OS version.

    I find it positively disappointing.
Can’t assign it to any 3rd party plugins.
Can’t use it to even modulate native fx on channel insert slots
Can’t use it as a mod source for any FX in existing projects.
I’m one of those who’ve been requesting flexible modulation system in cubase for years.
    This ain’t it
This is such lazy implementation. Would’ve been much better if they added the modulation shaper to the edit channel settings window (that could be toggled to from the channel EQ curve window) and could be assigned to anything inserted on the channel by direct modulation or even MIDI CC
I was hoping for something closer to what I now have in Bitwig since I switched. If they got just this one thing right, it would’ve got me back to Cubase.
Oh well. Maybe they’ll implement it better in 12.5 but I’ll prob be sticking with 11 until they implement this in a way that makes sense.

Sorry, I prefer this way! muuuch better than all the routing pattern LFO cable stuff from Bitwig and so on...
It´s much EASIER to have this great FX Modulation plugin, because it´s a BIG and fast workflow and a massive timsaver and ideal for pure creativity...
This is exactly what I need. great job Steinberg.

    • @hazmatproduction4562
      @hazmatproduction4562 2 роки тому

@@Byron101_ what are you even talking about. There is no routing necessary in Bitwig. You just click a mod source, drag any parameter of any 3rd party plugin you want. Job done. It’s as easy as modulation in a synth like massive or serum.
And more importantly, isn’t limited to a dozen lame 10-20 year old cubase native plugins

    • @Tutorial_ism

I love this thing (obviously as I made the video). I honestly do not use Cubase’s stock plugins all that often, but this one will be replacing my current, LFO/Multi-FX plugins because I am just finding it more user friendly than the 3rd party solutions.
As far as per channel modulation I am loving the new MIDI Remote as, if you have seen any of my previous videos on the subject, it is actually perfect for my own personal workflow and way of handling automation. It is honestly a game changer for me. Of course everyone has their own personal workflow and what they want and need from a DAW and that is perfectly natural, but we also have to consider the developer’s task. Cubase has a user base of millions and I know for a fact that they listen to as many of them as humanly possible. But they are just human and that is a lot of different opinions to digest and consider what things they want to focus their energy on. And as far as getting the features you personally want in there, sometimes it can just be a case of asking the right person, the right thing at the right time

@@Tutorial_ism get what you’re saying but I’ve never seen anyone request a native multi FX unit with dedicated modulators.
I have, however, seen many requests & submitted quite a few of my own, for a native mod system that can be applied to anything (native or 3rd party).
I can’t help but feel this lame plugin that brings nothing new to cubase at all, is what they added to fill that request. Maybe this is the best they can do, but it isn’t good enough, is leaps & bounds behind the competition & it’s nothing like what’s been requested many many times over the past decade.
Bitwig can already do that, as well as a lot of other things I’ve requested over the years (like multiband FX containers & multi assignable macro knobs). So after around 10 years of being ignored on feature requests, I gave up & switched. Didn’t want to, but I feel forced by steinberg and the way they half ass these things. To me, Cubase has lost its identity as an electronic production workstation & is now much more catered to scorers & composers. Generally requests made by the electronic producer community of cubase users are ignored or implemented half assed when they do finally materialise. This is a good example, and sampler tracks not having slicing & LFOs for a few versions is another.
It’s becoming too cluttered with features I’ll never use & the ones I do like are implemented much better elsewhere in DAWs like Bitwig & Ableton. Im starting to see it as a Jack of all trades, master of none, these days tbh
The more they do stuff like this, more & more electronic producers are going to start seeing the benefits of switching to DAWs more streamlined for their needs like Bitwig, Ableton etc, and as that happens cubase is going to see even less support aimed at electronic beatmakers than it already does now & im not sticking around for that. Until they do something truly groundbreaking (it’s been a while) I’ll be sticking on 11 until I absolutely have to upgrade due to OS compatibility or something.
Mostly everything they’ve added in years has been either irrelevant to my needs, not implemented to its full potential or just additional native FX & features I already have better 3rd party solutions for. I want to see the DAW future proofed, with updates to its core architecture that will drastically speed up workflow, not yet more useless native plugins & especially not a plugin that merely contains pre existing FX that they added the modulator to, that I’ve been waiting years to be added as a core cubase feature (not as a super limited VST plugin). If all you want to do is apply a mod curve to volume to simulate sidechain ducking, then yes this is an improvement over using 3rd party tools, but anyone truly interested in deeper modulation flexibility is probably laughing at this lame attempt to make native modulation better. Camelphat does a better job & sounds better to me. It’s like a 20 year old plugin that’s been defunct for about a decade now.
This feature is more like a counterpart to logic’s phat FX (formerly Camelphat) than the mod system I hoped for. Logic absorbed camel audio many years ago now, so even in that regard, Cubase is again way behind its competitors.
Cubase is a great option for anyone starting out who doesn’t have a wide array of 3rd party plugins, but as I do, I need a DAW that will allow me to utilise my 3rd party tools full potential, and that includes easy & flexible modulation without a clutter of midi tracks for I/O routing or a dozen automation lanes.

My last few videos (pre Cubase 12 release) have been on controllers, multi FX plugins and loudness and these are the new features we got in Cubase 12 - so for me it was the perfect upgrade. I’m like a kid in a candy store right now.
